• form submit button moves cutting image

  Hi I have a submit button and am styling it using the following css: .subm { background-color:Transparent; background-image:url(Images/Button_Send.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; width:82px; height:30px; display:block; border:none; outline:none; overflow:visible;} .subm:hover { background-color:Transparent; background-image:url(Images/Button_Send_Over.png); background-repeat:no-repeat; width:82px; height:30px; display:block; border:none; outline:none; overflow:visible; } Here is the html: <input type="submit" class="subm" value="" /> Nothing surprising. However, what annoys me is that when the submit button is clicked in IE it moves the image up a couple of pixels cutting them off which makes it look, hmm, good word, 'naff.' How can I compensate or stop this? I have tried expanding the image and leaving a couple of blank pixels at the top but it still does the same thing! Thanks R.

Assuming I have a model: public class Person { public string FirstName { get; set; } } In my view, if I write: <%: Html.LabelFor(model => model.FirstName) %> What I get on the page is "FirstName". But I don't want that because it's now user-friendly. I want it to be "First Name". How do I achieve that? Thanks.

  I'm upgrading my static website that had .php extensions on the content pages. I've created my own simple cms which will start retrieving data from mysql database from now on, keeping the url structure same as the old once. The cms has get function to retrieve url structure from the database. Overall it started working fine with .html when i tested. But when i change the .html extension to .php in my .htaccess code the content pages starts reflecting "Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request." Here is my .htaccess code which i've used: RewriteBase / Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^([^?]*).php$ content.php?pid=$1 Perhaps there is a conflict, here is the code with .html extension that actually works fine.   i m using php tube class to download youtube video. • cross domain DOM access and manipulation in Java ?

  In my Java app, how can I incorporate the browser (which loads and renders URLs) in Swing and access it's DOM and manipulate HTML ? How can you embed such browser in a Rich Internet Application and access it's DOM ? More specifically, Vaadin ? Is there a HTTP proxy class that can load an external URL, and render it to the user ? This was what I was doing on LAMP stack....but I want to switch to Vaadin or some Java web framework where I can just use Java to do everything from server-side to client-side logic design, so I can focus more on application logic. (aka looking for developer friendly frameworks like Vaadin). Thank you and have a great weekend !

Domains, protocols and ports must match." Looks like some namespace mistake. Can anyone point out exactly what ?

The .htaccess at the /forum subdirectory contains this: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /forum RewriteRule ^index.html$ index.php [L,NE] RewriteRule ^(.*)-t-([0-9]+).html(.*)$ showthread.php?tid=$2$3 [QSA,L] RewriteRule ^(.*)-t-([0-9]+)-([0-9]+).html$ showthread.php?tid=$2&page=$3 [QSA,L] followed by other rules mapping SEO-friendly URLs to the true URLs. mydomain.com/forum/a-thread-t-1.html returns the page showthread.php?tid=1 but so does mydomain.com/forum/forum/a-thread-t-1.html, mydomain.com/forum/forum/forum/a-thread-t-1.html and so on. I don't want this behavior - I want pages accessed as /forum/forum/* to return a 404. Any hint on where I had been wrong?

• Responsive logo (image replacement) in html5boilerplate

  I'm using the responsive version of html5 boilerplate via initializr.com. My site uses a custom logo so i added the .ir class to h1 .ir { background-color: transparent; border: 0; overflow: hidden; *text-indent: -9999px; } like this <h1 class="title ir">h1.title</h1> The documentation says Add the .ir class to any element you are applying image-replacement to. When replacing an element's content with an image, make sure to also set a specific background-image: url(pathtoimage.png);, width, and height so that your replacement image appears. So I added to the code these lines .ir { background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/yYnyJ.jpg); background-size: 100% auto; width:450px; height:450px } The problem are the specific width and height. • Suggestions for a C++ IDE?

  I know this is is a shifty question and really isn't easy to answer, but bare with me. For a while now I have been using Eclipse and doing Java programming. Now that I reach a point where I'm comfortable in Java, I wish to move on back into C++ and actually make something more than a single class that prints to terminal; and work in OpenGL :). So I wonder if anybody has a recomendation of IDE's that resemble or are as fluid as Eclipse? I am aware that Eclipse has a C++ plugin, but it really doesn't feel user friendly (at least to a pampered java programmer!). I have (I think I still have it?) a copy of Visual Studio 2005, but want to see if anyone has any better ideas. Thanks ~Aedon

  Ads requested through via doubleclick often get served from an ad provider network that returns javascript that in turn performs document.write to place ads in the page. The use of document.write requires that the document be open, implying that the page hasn't reached document.complete. This gets in the way of deferring or lazy loading ad content. Putting such code at page bottom is helpful but doesn't do enough to lower all-important "page-loaded" time. Are "friendly iframes" the best we have? Is there any other alternative such as a clever way to override document.write?

• PHP Header redirection problem within page called by cURL

  I have a site that uses cURL to access some pages, stores the returned results in variables, and then uses these variables within its own page. The script works well except where the target cURL page has a header('Location: ...') command inside it. It seems to just ignore this header command. The cURL command is as follows... //Load result page into variable so portions can be allocated to correct variables $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url); # URL to post to curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1 ); # return into a variable curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $postfields); $loaded_result = curl_exec( $ch ); # run! curl_close($ch); I've tried changing the CURLOPT_HEADER to 1 but it doesn't do anything. So how can I allow script redirection within the target urls using cURL to grab the results? By the way, the pages work fine if accessed other than via cURL but iFrames are not an option in this instance.

  I want to change search image in magento. On search in magento the image name is btn_search.gif. Right now it take image from skin/frontend/default/default/images. If this exist then it will take skin image. I want to use that locale image instead of that skin image. So when i click on french store i get the image which is i set in /app/design/frontend/default/default/locale/fr_FR/images/btn_search.gif I check the code for getSkinUrl in /app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Design/Package.php. And i found that he check locale for file but it return skin url. Is there any method which return locale url ?

• Generate a commutative hash based on three sets of numbers?

  I need to generate a commutative hash based on three sets of "score" structs. Each score has a "start", an "end" and a "number". Both start and end are usually huge numbers (8-9 digits) but number is just from 1 to 4. I need them to be commutative so the order does not matter. I'm using XOR at the moment but it seems to be giving bad results. Since I'm working with large large datasets, I'd prefer a performance-friendly solution. Any suggestions? • PHP/Codeigniter processing a list with javascript

  I have a list of items that the user can select. I want it to be more user friendly than standard checkboxes so I have seperate div's each with a unique id. When user clicks an item, I use javascript to display a tick on top of that item and change the style to show that it is highlighted. Im trying to work out how I can pass the list of id's when the form is submitted. Remember, if the user unticks an item, it should be removed from the list, I was thinking of using comma seperated values in a hidden text field but couldnt work out how to remove items from the start of the list if they were deselected

• Unit testing a method with many possible outcomes

  I've built a simple~ish method that constructs an URL out of approximately 5 parts: base address, port, path, 'action', and a set of parameters. Out of these, only the address part is mandatory, the other parts are all optional. A valid URL has to come out of the method for each permutation of input parameters, such as: address address port address port path address path address action address path action address port action address port path action address action params address path action params address port action params address port path action params andsoforth. The basic approach for this is to write one unit test for each of these possible outcomes, each unit test passing the address and any of the optional parameters to the method, and testing the outcome against the expected output. However, I wonder, is there a Better (tm) way to handle a case like this? Are there any (good) unit test patterns for this? (rant) I only now realize that I've learned to write unit tests a few years ago, but never really (feel like) I've advanced in the area, and that every unit test is a repeat of building parameters, expected outcome, filling mock objects, calling a method and testing the outcome against the expected outcome. I'm pretty sure this is the way to go in unit testing, but it gets kinda tedious, yanno. Advice on that matter is always welcome. • How to update to jersey 2.X on an app using jersey 1.1X?

  i recently faced a problem with the handling of exceptions using jersey. In this case it was that the exceptions thrown from Exception mapper are not re thrown to the underlaying container, i searched and found that this has been fixed in the 2.0 version. But i'm using jersey 1.10 and the 2.X dependencies are all different and its also maven based. Since this project is not using maven, how do i use the more recent version?In the 2.X versions there are no jackson json jars for example. So i'm having some doubts in how to upgrade.   I wrote a script for screen pops from our soft phone that locates a directory listing for the caller but occasionally they get "Can't read input stream" and the rest of the script quits. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to suppress error the error message and allow the rest of the script to run?
