• Positioning child panels using FlowLayout

  I have two panels: main_panel child_panel The main_panel layout is set using: main_panel.setLayout(flowlayout) I then added child_panel to main_panel: main_panel.add(child_panel) The child_panel gets added to main_panel but its position is at the cross-section of horizontal midpoint and top vertical section of screen. I want child_panel to be at the top left corner, something I could have done by using child_panel.setlocation(a,b) method, if I have set the layout of main_panel as null. I have used FlowLayout here because I want components in the JPanel to keep adjusting with the size of JFrame. So can I add child_panel to main_panel at the exact location I want, even if I set the Layout of main_panel as not null?

I would expect it to give me field1 and field2 as options, but it doesn't. I DO get field1 and field2 if I type "val2." so intellisence works when I create a new object of the same type that I specify in the param comment. Any ideas what I am doing wrong or is this just not supported?

  I have a method that contains the following (Java) code: doSomeThings(); doSomeOtherThings(); doSomeThings() creates some threads, each of which will run for only a finite amount of time. The problem is that I don't want doSomeOtherThings() to be called until all the threads launched by doSomeThings() are finished. (Also doSomeThings() will call methods that may launch new threads and so on. I don't want to execute doSomeOtherThings() until all these threads have finished.) This is because doSomeThings(), among other things will set myObject to null, while doSomeOtherThings() calls myObject.myMethod() and I do not want myObject to be null at that time. Is there some standard way of doing this kind of thing (in Java)?

• Guidance on using drop in DLLs

  I have been giving the task to rewrite a internal utility in .net for my work. One of program requirements the new system has is have a dll that implements a set of interfaces and have the program call the DLL. Now this dll will be changed out a lot per deployment. My question is what is the best way to do it from a development standpoint? Do I add a template DLL (one that only has the interfaces but no implementation) to the project references like I would do any other dll that I would use.   This is the structure of my table: Then I run a query SELECT `date`,`index_name`,`results` FROM `mst_ind` WHERE `index_name` IN ('MSCI EAFE Mid NR USD', 'Alerian MLP PR USD') AND `time_period`='M1' and get a table like How can I convert "index_name" rows to columns like: date | MSCI EAFE Mid NR USD | Alerian MLP PR USD etc In other words I need each column to represent an index and rows to represent date-result. I understand that MySQL doesn't have pivot table functions. What is the easiest way of doing this? • How can I set a default value when incorrect/invalid input is entered in Unix?

  i want to set the value of inputLineNumber to 20. I tried checking if no value is given by user by [[-z "$inputLineNumber"]] and then setting the value by inputLineNumber=20. The code seems to be working correct when no value is given but I also receive ./t.sh: [-z: not found as message on the console. Is there some way to not print this message.   I have a table called Categorie with a few columns and I'm trying to get only a few out of my database. I was trying to do an array_shift but I get an error that this isn't an array.   I have two identical EC2 instances (the second is a replica of the first), running Gentoo. The first instance has monit running which monitors a single process and some system resources and functions great. In the second instance, monit runs but quits right away.
