  • Enable/Disable WPF buttons depending on the number of clicks

    I have two buttons 'btnPrev' and 'btnNext' What I want to do is to be able to determine the number of clicks of the button so that I could enable and disable them. The process is almost similar to 'paging' method. Initial state: btnPrev - disabled, btnNext - enabled 1st Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 2nd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - enabled 3rd Click (btnNext): btnPrev - enabled, btnNext - disabled the idea is almost the same vice-versa (for btnPrev).

  • MySQL index building performance

    I tried to build an index over a two columns of a 30,000,000 entry database. I canceled the process after ~60hr as it didn't seem to work. For some reason MySQL takes only 22 mb ram instead of using the RAM fully. Is index building an operation that needs no Ram or is there some way to tell MySQL to use more RAM to be faster?

    Hi, how can I deploy an mvc application, without publishing the aspx view files. Is there a way to publish the generated dll assemblies? In the project file is an option "MvcBuildViews", which builds these dll files. But they are build in a temp directory and not used in the publishment process. Can you use MacFUSE to achieve this more dynamically? Will Spotlight index a MacFUSE volume? Can MacFUSE handle the necessary per-file metadata? Can a MacFUSE process notify Spotlight when attributes of a file change?

    Trying to solve this problem. I would like to learn how the bootstrapper detects if prerequisites (specifically .NET 3.5) are installed. According to this reference, a way to detect if .NET is installed is to check the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5 Using process monitor, I have inspected registry queries done by the bootstrapper (setup.exe) and it did not show any access to this registry key. Does anybody know how the bootstrapper determines whether the prerequisites are installed on the target system?

I want to test out the following user scenarios Old version of Silverlight No Silverlight Cross browser In the past I have seen tools for uninstalling and installing different versions of Flash for this same type of testing.   • Servlet IOException when streaming a Byte Array

    I occasionally get an IOException from a Servlet I have that writes a byte array to the outputstream in order to provide a file download capability. This download servlet has a reasonable amount of traffic (100k hits a month) and this exception occurs rarely, around 1-2 times a month. I have tried recreating the exception by using the exact same Base64 String and no exception is raised and the Servlet behaves as designed. Is this IO Exception being caused by something outside my applications control? For example a network issue or the user resetting the connection? I have tried to google the cause of an IOException at this point in the stack but to no avail. The environment is running Tomcat 5.5 on CentOS 5.3 with an Apache HTTP Server acting as a proxy using proxy_ajp.     Hi all, I have a java project in Eclipse which includes a couple of external jar files. These external jar files are being rebuilt through a different process (not eclipse, ant). Those changes are not being reflected on the eclipse project even if I refresh the project. If I close the project and reopen, it works. There are some rather good papers of ethernet latency, but they cover only latency sources in the wire and switch (and rather cursory, only for specific switch). What steps of processing does follow a packet? Papers with deep latency analysis of usual ping (icmp) will be useful too. I rely on community :)

    I'm trying to get bash to process data from stdin that gets piped it, but no luck, what I mean is none of the following work: echo "hello world" | test=($(< /dev/stdin)); echo test=$test test= echo "hello world" | read test; echo test=$test test= echo "hello world" | test=`cat`; echo test=$test test= where I want the output to be test=hello world. Note I've tried putting "" quotes around "$test" that doesn't work either.

    I have a python script that ends with running a program (iexpress.exe) in a dos prompt. The program that runs in dos prompt, uses a dir called workdir. After the program has finished in the dos prompt I would like python to delete the dir. I have just made a simple solution of putting a delay of 30sec: time.sleep(30) removeall(workdir) os.rmdir(workdir) But how should I do it, if python should delete the dir right after the process has finished?

    I'm looking for an explanation of how a hashtable works - in plain English for a simpleton like me! For example I know it takes the key, calculates the hash (how?) and then performs some kind of modulo to work out where it lies in the array that the value is stored, but that's where my knowledge stops. Could anyone clarify the process. Edit: I'm not looking specifically about how hashcodes are calculated, but a general overview of how a hashtable works.
