    We receive Excel workbook files every day which are password protected with the same password. We know this password. Is there a utility or method to remove password protection on these workbook files without invoking Excel.exe or the Excel object. Our goal is to take Excel out of the process and utilize SpreadsheetGear in VB.net. However, SpreadsheetGear can only unprotect worksheets not workbooks. Thanks

I have some experience writing programs that deal with sql databases and I guess I'm confused how cobol stores and retrieves data that is stored in a mainframe for example. I know that it's not like relational databases but every example program I've seen takes data straight from the command line and I know thats not how real world COBOL programs process the data. Can someone explain or show me a good resource that can explain it?

    Hi, I am getting "ASP.NET Session Expired" error when viewing SQL Server 2008 reports using the Microsoft ReportViewer web control. I found this article http://balanagaraj.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/session-has-expired-in-asp-net/ which suggests to use one worker process in IIS application pool, but that may affect performance, is there any other solution for this? I tried setting "AsyncRendering" to false already and that didn't work.

  • Is there a way to reuse an XmlReader?

    I have a process that uses an XmlReader. I have already done a lot to squeeze maximum performance out of it. So far we have had huge gains from using the Reader as opposed to XmlDoc or DataSet.GetXml(). We expect to get XML many times a second and I would like to avoid the overhead of recreating the reader every time. I have already cached the XmlReaderSettings but is there anyway to reuse the XmlReader or do I need to recreate it every time?

  • "Official" Way to deploy Assemblies into the GAC?

    I just wonder - if I need to deploy an assembly into the GAC, what is the "official" way of doing it? Currently we either manually drag/drop into the c:\windows\assembly folder or we use gacutil.exe. The first way is obviously not the good one (it's manual process after all), and gacutil is part of the SDK and not available per default on production servers. Are there any Microsoft deployment Guidelines?

    Hi, I'm Running Mysql on ubuntu 9.10, the process of Mysql is running as root, I'm using root account when logging to Mysql, which I gave all privileges, I'm using my own db(not mysql), I can create a table, but when i try to create Temporary table i get this error: ERROR 1005 (HY000): Can't create table 'tmp' (errno: 13) For this query: CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE tmp (id int); I've plenty of space in my hard drive, all permissions are granted(also var/lib/mysql have mysql permissions).     i recently finished one project..now when i create a new navigation project in xcode and try to run it in simulator the application crashes and error in debugger window shows that i am missing some classes which i had used in my previous project(not in this one) and in some cases it gives Couldn't register com.yourcompany.GuessGame with the bootstrap server. Error: unknown error code. This generally means that another instance of this process was already running or is hung in the debugger. is this some problem related to linked libraries??

    In the .NET BCL there are circular references between: System.dll and System.Xml.dll System.dll and System.Configuration.dll System.Xml.dll and System.Configuration.dll Here's a screenshot from .NET Reflector that shows what I mean: How Microsoft created these assemblies is a mystery to me. Is a special compilation process required to allow this? I imagine something interesting is going on here.
