• How do you use stereotype annotations in Spring 2.5.x?

  When moving to Spring 2.5.x I found that it adds more stereotype annotations (on top of @Repository from 2.0): @Component, @Service and @Controller. How do you use them? Do you rely on implicit Spring support or you define custom stereotype specific functions/aspects/features? Or is it predominately for marking beans (compile time, conceptual, etc.)?

  The linux kernel (and various other projects including git) have very nice makefiles that hide the giant cc calls into nice little acronyms. For example: gcc -O2 -o cool.o cool.c -llib gcc -O2 -o neat.o neat.c -llib would become: CC cool.c CC neat.c Which is really nice if you have a project with a large number of files and long compiler flags. I recall that this had to do with suppressing the default output and making a custom one. How do you do it?

  Hi, I'm developing a Work item Custom Control and I need to use the standard VS's Merge Wizard for items in source control from my code to allow to user choose the target branch, resolve conflicts etc. I'm pretty sure it's possible in some way (even through the reflection), but I just can't find the proper class in any of VS client assemblies (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.dll, Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll).   Hi, We are working on a Windows Mobile 6.5 application. The application is already installed in some devices, and we need to distribute a new version with changes in the database schema (we added a few tables). Is there a way to make a "patch" windows mobile installer that will replace the application and update the embedded SQL database with some scripts? In a normal windows installer we would create a custom action in the installation process to apply the changes in the database, but I'm not sure how to do that for Windows Mobile Thanks.

The reason I'm asking is that I frequently use a custom PY2EXE script that UPX's copies of these files on every build. Yes, I could get fancy and try to cache UPXed files, but I think a simpler, safer, and higher performance solution would be for me to just UPX my Python 2.6.4 directory once and be done with it.   We installed a Sonicwall NSA 240 appliance and have configured it up for our SSL VPN connection and for load balancing with 2 ADSL lines. Over the past week, I have been testing the load balancing options to optimize the connection speeds for our users - but I've run into the following: Round Robin load balancing is the ideal load balancing setting and it's roughly doubling our throughput- but, when it's active users are unable to access any SSL enabled websites such as banking, web-mail, etc. For this reason, I have been using percentage based balancing as it allows me to enable source and destination IP binding, which doesn't 'break' any secure connections but were left with the slow connection speeds we had before adding the second line. I'm looking for a method in which we can take advantage of the round robin connection speeds while allowing users to access sites with SSL certificates, all while still allowing our remote (vpn) users to connect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  I'm creating a ASP.NET MVC website and I was wandering which techniques do you guys use to protect primary key on these mvc urls. Actually ASP.NET MVC generates this syntax for its urls: /Controller/Action/Id Last week I was trying to encrypt it using SHA-1 Encryption, but this encrypter generates some special symbols like + (plus), / (slash), and other annoying chars which difficult the decryption. Perhaps creating a custom encryption should solve the problem. But I wanna here from you guys, do you have some ideas to protect mvc urls?
