• VS2010, VSS and post-commit hook?

  I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and VSS. Yes, I know VSS sucks. Hard. I'm attempting to force a move to TFS (since SVN integration with Expression and Sharepoint Designer is near impossible without forcing non-technical content managers to use TortoiseSVN), but that will not happen in the short term. I'm working with a local copy of the (classic ASP 3.0) site, and need to publish individual files to a web folder on our dev server whenever I check in a file so that the changes can be seen by other interested parties without having to publish from VSS. Does anyone know of a convenient way to add a post-commit script with VSS? It's acceptable for this script to run on my dev box (as opposed to the server), considering that VSS has no server to execute such actions.

  I'm trying to animate a background image to move down a set amount of pixels but remain in the center of the page. Upon another click of an element I need it to move back to the top, but still remain in the center. My goal is to calulate the center of the page in pixels (width = (width / 2) - 700;), and then animate to this rough position (it's normally out by a few pixels due to scrollbars, and then force to the center using a .css() call. The problem is that IE does not want to play ball. IE will not animate at all. Firefox/Safari/Chrome all work as expected. • Streaming webcam video in Flash using MP4 encoding

  One of the features of the Flash app I'm working on is to be able to stream a webcam to others. We're just using the built-in webcam support in Flash and sending it through FMS. We've had some people ask for higher quality video, but we're already using the highest quality setting we can in Flash (setting quality to 100%). My understanding is that in the newer flash players they added support for MPEG-4 encoding for the videos. I created a simple test Flex app to try and compare the video quality of the MP4 vs FLV encodings. However, I can't seem to get MP4 to work at all. According to the Flex documentation the only thing I need to do to use MP4 instead of FLV is prepend "mp4:" to the name of the stream when calling publish: Specify the stream name as a string with the prefix mp4: with or without the filename extension. The prefix indicates to the server that the file contains H.264-encoded video and AAC-encoded audio within the MPEG-4 Part 14 container format. When I try this nothing happens. I don't get any events raised on the client side, no exceptions thrown, and my logging on the server side doesn't show any streams starting. • jQuery dialog breaking after closing - I'm using dialog destroy

  I've got a few demo videos I've been making as tutorials, and I'm using a link to open a dialog box and put the demo video in that box. I use the same div to show other notes on the page when a user selects to view a complete note.   Hi all! I have rich web app btuil with ExtJS. It has multi-select list control (created with JS+CSS). I want to click on some item in that list using HP QuickTest Pro 10 with Internet Explorer 6. I don't know to do that :( So I have a few questions: How can perform click with mouse on several web elements with Shift key pressed? • How do I cancel the link action?

  I though returning false would be enough to cancel the link action, but apparently it isn't. When I click the link in the code below I do get the 'click' message, which is expected. • Multiple views and source list in a Core Data app

  I'm working on my first major Cocoa app for an undergraduate research project. The application is document-based and uses Core Data. One of the entities is an abstract entity, Page. Page is parent of several types of pages: ie PageWithHeaderAndFooter, PageWithTwoColumns, BasicPage etc. Page has attributes, such as title and author, that all pages have in common. Each specific type of page has a certain number of layout blocks (PageWithHeaderAndFooter has three: header, footer, body. BasicPage has one: body. etc.) Additionally, all Page subclasses define layout-specific implementations of certain methods. The other relevant entity is Style, which defines the visual look of a Page. (Think of Pages as HTML and Style as CSS.) I would like my app to have an iTunes/Mail-like source list with sections. (One section would be Pages, the other would be Styles.) I have a pretty good idea how to do the sectioned source list (this was a great help). However, after hours of headbanging and fruitless googling, here's what I can't figure out: Pages and Styles listed in the source list, and when you select one of them, all of the relevant fields for that object appear at the right (mostly NSTextViews, pop up menus, etc). I laid that out and did all of the bindings in Interface Builder. The problem is, if my source list contains different types of pages, how do I get a different view to display at the right depending on the type of page selected? For example, if a BasicPage is selected, I want just what you see above: the general page stuff and one NSTextView that corresponds to the one field body of BasicPage. But if I select a PageWithHeaderAndFooter, I want to display the general page stuff plus three NSTextViews (one for header, body, and footer.) If I have a Style selected, I want to display various pop up menus, color wells, etc. For the pages at least, we're only talking about one or more NSTextViews, each of which corresponds to a String attribute of the respective entity. • how to keep a nativewindow on top

  I need to keep a NativeWindow I am creating on top of the main window of the application. Currently I am using alwaysInFront = true, which is not limited to the windows in the application. I can successfully synchronize the minimize/restore/move/resize actions, so the top window behaves appropriately in those cases. Even though using this option has the drawback that if I alt-tab to other application the window goes on top of the other application. Because of the above I am trying to get it to work without using the alwaysInFront. I have tried using orderInFrontOf and orderToFront, which gets it in place but when I click an area in the main window the top one becomes hidden i.e. air makes it the top one. I have tried capturing activate/deactivate events but it only happens on the first click, so on the second click the top window becomes hidden again. I also tried making the top window active when the main one becomes active, but that causes the main one to loose focus and I can't click on anything. Ps. • jQuery scrollTo plugin to scroll screen to div wouldn't work, why?

  Hi all: I am working on a web application, whose mock-up page can now be found at: our server If you click on the blue title "step1" and then choose the option of "delivery to address", a form will show up using jQuery ajax load. No problem for this. Click on the "venue" radio button will take you to another form, no problem for this as well. If you scroll down a bit, you can see a textarea, top of that you can see a link called "what's this?". Click on it and the textarea shall be filled with sample words. The problem is, after clicking on the link, the webpage automatically scrolls to the top section. What I want is to keep the textarea to the center of screen after link is clicked. I am trying to use a jQuery plugin called "scrollTo", which can be found here From its demo page I can tell is what I want. • Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

  I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

• Getting jQuery to return an ajax object

  Hello, The question title is a bit strange because I'm not exactly sure how to phrase the problem. The issue is that I have many links to which I want to bind a click event with an ajax call, and I'm just looking to refactor some duplicate code into a single area. The links I'm trying to bind an ajax call only have one thing that differentiates them, and that's an id from a previously declared object. So I have lots of code that looks like this: $("a.link").bind('click', function() { id = obj.id; $.ajax({ url: "/set/" + id, dataType: 'json', type: "POST" }) }); I was trying to refactor it into something like this: $("a.link").bind('click', ajax_link(obj.id)); function ajax_link(id) { $.ajax({ url: "/set/" + id, dataType: 'json', type: "POST" }) }); However, as you can imagine, this just actually makes the ajax call when the element is binded with the click event. Is there an easy way to refactor this code so I can extract out the common ajax code into its own function, and hopefully reduce the number of lines of jQuery in my current script?

  I got an exception with message "No printers are installed." while printing a report for depolyed release of our website. I use _rptDocument.PrintToPrinter(1, false, 0, 0); to print a report. I got that exception, even I've more than one printer installed on my machine. Also, I don't get that exception while development, everything while development is going fine. I used "Publish Web Site" and "Web Project Deployment" options to publish/deploy website, but I got the same result. Any suggestions?

  Hi, I'm writing a simple application - address book. User enters new addresses and they are added as an entry to a list visible on the main form (frmStart). I use one form to add and edit (AddContForm). Add button on the frmStart works fine, however I experience some problems with the edit button as when I press it and enter new data they are added as new entry however the previous entry is still there. • Two AppStore Accounts With The Same Name. I got codeSign error 'Name' appears more than once in the

  I got another new account for the AppStore, I setup the new account certificates on my MAC. Now when I try to publish XCode gives me the error CodeSign error: Certificate identity 'iPhone Distribution: 'Name' appears more than once in the keychain. The codesign tool requires there only be one. How can I change my certificate identity for the other account? While I have to leave my Name as it is on both itunes profiles. How can avoid this problem without have to remove one certificate each time I need to publish app on appstore. Thank you.

• View an item without republishing everything?

  I'm getting this error when trying to view a Sitecore item based on a template that contains nothing but one sublayout played in a placeholder in another layout. I can place the sublayout in other sublayouts and view it on another item, and I can preview the item, but when I go to view that item I get this: The layout for the requested document was not found. [blah blah blah] Requested Layout: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} [blah blah blah some more] The only way I've found to view the new item is to do a "Publish Site" from the Publish tab. Is there a way to get that one item working without republishing everything?

• Connect to internet with Qt for symbian

  I'm creating a Qt Symbian application and need to connect to internet. In some way I need to let the user choose a connection when the app starts. I could use Qt Mobility to get it working but when Nokia approves I wan't do publish my application on Ovi Store. As the Qt Mobility is not included in Qt 4.6 it might be a problem to publish my app later. So for this reason I'm thinking of using native APIs instead. The idea is to use: qt_SetDefaultIap() to set the connection on start. I have been looking at this to actually understand what it is doing. If I have two connections that the app could use, one with WIFI and one through mobile internet, which one will qt_SetDefaultIap() choose? And can I in some way with native api make the user choose a connection on start up? (qt_SetDefaultIap seems to just set a default connection on its own, without user choice) Thanks!

  We are testing GoDaddy Virtual Data Center and came to a very strange issue when our web site gets unavailable. GoDaddy Support keeps saying the issue is in our web server settings, but looking at the result of our tests I doubt it. TEST ENVIRONMENT Virtual DataCenter with Windows hosted at GoDaddy.com. All servers have Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter, IIS 7. Server One with IP address 10.1.0.4 Server Two with IP address 10.1.0.3 Both servers are in private network not visible from outside. Port Forward with IP address 50.62.13.174. Port Forward is assigned to Server One TEST DESCRIPTION JMeter is used as a Client App to simulate 30 concurrent users sending 100 SOAP requests each. Interval between requests is 1 second. Http link used for testing: http://50.62.13.174/v2/webservices.asmx TEST ONE Test is run from a computer in our office. After JMeter starts running test, almost immediately, the link above becomes unavailable in a browser. After test completion, the link is not available in a browser for about 5 more minutes. Remote Desktop is working well, so we can connect to Server One remotely. After about 5 minutes since test completion, the link becomes available in a browser again. TEST TWO Test is run from Server Two (that is part of our virtual data center). Test works very well, no visible delays in processing. The link is available in a browser all the time. TEST THREE Test is run from Server One using localhost. The result is the same as in TEST TWO - no issues. TEST FOUR We repeated TEST ONE from other computers that we have located in different countries, all with the same result as TEST ONE. CONCLUSION As the test works well from Server Two, but does not work from outside our virtual data center, we feel there are issues with the network or its capacity. The whole behaviour looks like out requests from outside get stuck somewhere before reaching our virtual data center. Has anybody had similar issues in the past? Are there chances that something is wrong with our server settings?

  In the App ID section of the Program Portal, locate the App ID you wish to use with the Apple Push Notification service. Only App IDs with a specific bundle ID can be used with the APNs. You cannot use a “wild-card” application ID. You must see “Available” under the Apple Push Notification service column to register this App ID and configure a certificate for this App ID. Click the ‘Configure’ link next to your desired App ID. In the Configure App ID page, check the Enable Push Notification Services box and click the Configure button. Clicking this button launches the APNs Assistant, which guides you through the next series of steps that create your App ID specific Client SSL certificate. Download the Client SSL certificate file to your download location. Navigate to that location and double-click the certificate file (which has an extension of cer) to install it in your keychain. When you are finished, click Done in the APNS Assistant. Double-clicking the file launches Keychain Access. Make sure you install the certificate in your login keychain on the computer you are using for provider development. The APNs SSL certificate should be installed on your notification server. When you finish these steps you are returned to the Configure App ID page of the iPhone Dev Center portal. The certificate should be badged with a green circle and the label “Enabled”. To complete the APNs set-up process, you will need to create a new provisioning profile containing your APNs-enabled App ID. IS it posssible to do theses steps through code.
