    Hi all, I came cross a question in my interview. Question: Array of integers will be given as the input and you should find out the middle element when sorted , but without sorting. For Example. Input: 1,3,5,4,2 Output: 3 When you sort the given input array, it will be 1,2,3,4,5 where middle element is 3. You should find this in one pass without sorting. Any solutions for this?

I have the below program IEnumerable<DataRow> lstDr = dt.AsEnumerable().Skip(4).Take(dt.Rows.Count); But the output is Enumeration yielded no results I am using c#3.0 Please help.

I can point out why it is really bad: Inextricable tie between server code and client code. Can render client code un-reusable. But sometimes, it just seems to make sense. And isn't it kinda sorta interesting? I guess the question is, is writing server code that produces JavaScript code a really bad practice, or "does everyone do it"?

    I want to define a function replicate to replicate a list of numbers by its value using only list comprehension, for example: replicate [5,1,3,2,8,1,2] output: [5,5,5,5,5,1,3,3,3,2,2,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,1,2,2] I know this would be easy to use the 'replicate' built in function but only list comprehension is allow, how can I do this?     I'm currently using regular expressions to search through RSS feeds to find if certain words and phrases are mentioned, and would then like to extract the text on either side of the match as well. For example: String = "This is an example sentence, it is for demonstration only" re.search("is", String) I'd like to know where the is was found so that I can extract and output something like this: 1 match found: "This is an example sentence" I know that it would be easy to do with splits, but I'd need to know what the index of first character of the match was in the string, which I don't know how to find

    I'm trying to write a store procedure that can take some input parameters (obviously), run multiple queries against those, taking the output from those and doing calculations, and from those calculations and the original queries, outputting a formatted text string like: Number of Rows for max(Z) matching condition x and y of total rows matching x (x&y/x*100). To explain the max(Z) bit, this will be the username field, it won't matter which actual entry is picked, because the where clause will filter the results by user id, is there a saner way to do this?

    Heya, I'm fetching a page using ajax (jquery) and appending certain data to the Requests query string to let the server know it shouldn't render the entire Page, just the view in question to the output buffer. I'm having no luck though, I can detect when the page needs to be rendered partially, but everything I've tried so far (including stuff like return PartialView()) isn't working. Any ideas?   • MySQL Order By Problem, Why is 1000 being seen as Smaller than 2?

    I have a strange problem, I am trying to order the output of a set of records by a field called displayOrder. Now even though record A has a displayOrder of 2 and record B has a displayOrder of 1000, record B still shows up before record A. Here's my select statement: SELECT * FROM items ORDER BY displayOrder ASC It works fine until I have a record greater than 9, then 10, 11, 12, etc are seen as smaller than 2, 3, 4 because they start with the number 1. Any way to fox this?
