  • MSBuild on TeamCity Server can't find AL.exe

    I'm having a problem on my TeamCity CI build server where during compilation I get the following error: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(2342, 9): error MSB3086: Task could not find "AL.exe" using the SdkToolsPath "" or the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A". Make sure the SdkToolsPath is set and the tool exists in the correct processor specific location under the SdkToolsPath and that the Microsoft Windows SDK is installed I've found similar reports from a year ago when people were upgrading to .NET 3.5, for example this one. In that case, installing the latest SDK solved the issue, however I have already installed the latest SDK (Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 4) on my build server. The MSBuild tools are all there on the server, in a folder called C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319 and AL.exe exists in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.1\Bin\NETFX 4.0 Tools However the registry key mentioned in the error message does not exist. So, it seems like there is something wrong with the installation/configuration of MSBuild. This error only happens for projects that have embedded resources, which require AL.exe. Please, anyone solved this issue or have any clues what's wrong?

    I've scanned my new webserver and I'm surprised to find that in the results there's programs that I never installed. This is a fresh new install of Ubuntu 12.04 and just installed Php 5.3, mysql, fail2ban, apache2, git, a few other things. Not sure if related, but I've got Wordpress installed but this doesn't have anything to do with myphpnuke does it?   • Vb.Net web browser control not firing document complete with AJAX web site.

    The VB.Net desktop app uses the IE browser control to navigate the web. When a normal page loads the document_complete event fires and I can read the resulting page and go from there. The issue I am having is that the page I am driving is written with AJAX, so the document complete event never fires. Furthermore, when you view the source of the page after it loaded a new portion via AJAX, it hasn't change. How are people handling this? What are my options?

  • Losing sessions with window.open and cakephp redirection in PHP with cakephp

    Hi guys, Ok, here goes a very strange problem... Our team is using cakephp to develop a large application. Everything session related is working properly so far. The only issues we've had so far are related to iframes and opening windows in other subdomains. I'll explain: User opens up site A and logs into it, creation a User in a session. Cookies are set, everything works as expected. The user clicks a link that opens up Site B via Javascript. When they go to that site, they are automatically logged in by a backend mechanism and infrastructure. Site B is a subdomain of Site A. On that site there is another mechanism to go back to the first page (a link rather) that logs them back in to site A. The fun part about this whole process is the following, and that on step 3, when we click on the link, the session on Site A has been lost. I know it's lost because it is forcing login again. I am a bit lost, as the rest of the application that work with AJAX and uses iframes and stuff works flawlessly, just this one item does not work as one would expect.   • Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id.

    I'm working in ASP .NET dynamic data. In one of my edit controls I wanted to allow the user to add records from a related table to the current page. (Literally, if you are on the orders page, you would be allowed to add a new customer to the system on this page as well, and then associate it with that order). So, I have a DetailsView set to InsertMode, nested inside of an UpdatePanel, which is shown by a ModalPopupExtender which is invoked when 'add new' is clicked. This doohickey works the first time i execute this process, that is, a customer is added (and i update the dropdown list as well). However, I realized it didn't work (properly) again until I refreshed the entire page. When I attached my debugger, my worst fears were realized (ok, not really). But an exception was being thrown: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id." Which seemed to be complaining about a Calendar Extender Control that is part of the details view. Any guidance on what's going on here would be great. Thanks.

    I'm getting this error with IIS 6.0 (i assume), and PHP 5.2.3, and FastCGI FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. Error Details: Error Number: 5 (0x80070005). Error Description: Access is denied. HTTP Error 500 - Server Error. Internet Information Services (IIS) Any ideas, nothing revealings in logs (other than 500 errors), this is pretty much all of I have to work with. The script has read and execute privileged for the internet guest account; and, I've added read/execute privileges to the whole D:\PHP. I followed this tutorial http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/247/using-fastcgi-to-host-php-applications-on-iis-60/ to set it up. The only major diversion is I installed PHP to D:\PHP

  • WIX: How can I register a new ISAPI Extension or Script Map on an existing Web App or Site?

    I've seen the WebApplicationExtension element, but because it must be a child of WebApplication, it appears to require the creation of a new WebApplication. I don't want that. I want to create the extension (or script map) on an existing website. On uninstall, the website should remain but the extension (script map entry) should be removed. Anyone know how to do this in WIX? If I get no good answers, I guess I will have to do it within script before InstallFinalize.

    i have a web site for download mobile files and there many users in my web site. sometimes i have the error below : HTTP Error 503 - Service is unavailable 1-so why this error happens and what is that mean? 2-as i know appache free up itself when it's oveloaded, but what about iis? how can i put some limitations in my server (i have remote access to my server) for prevent this error happening? a.is limitation of dowload's speed efficient for prevent that error's occur? how can i do that? is squid useful for this job or i can do that with another iis extension. b.is limitation of download's Bandwidth efficient for prevent that error's occur? how can i do that (with iis or another extension)? in right side of iis - configure area - i found some limits. what do those limits mean and can i use them for keep my server alive all the time?     I've come across a question where a user is having difficulties accessing an image through a script (using cURL/file_get_contents()): How to save an image from url using PHP? The image link seems to return a 403 error when using file_get_contents() to request it. But in cURL, a more detailed error is returned: You were denied access to the system. Turn off the engine or Surf Proxy, Fake IP if you really want to access. Proxy or not accepted from any Web tools Intrusion Prevention System. Binh Minh Online Data Services @ 2008 - 2012 I also failed to access the same image after fiddling around with a cURL request myself. I tried changing the user-agent to my exact browsers user-agent which can successfully access the image. I've also tried the script on my personal local server, which (obviously) uses the same IP address as my browser... So as far as I know, user-agents and IP addresses are out of the situation. How else can someone detect a script performing a request? BTW, this is not for anything crazy. I'm just curious xD

Something I can learn/test on, work is mainly a Windows shop but I do have Linux experience too I'd like to take a look at App-V (application virtualization) too I'd like it to cost less than $1000 Quiet would be nice but not essential (it'll be in the basement) I'm thinking of getting a technet subscription to get access to Windows Server 2008 R2 at a reasonable price ($199) So my plan was this Get a bunch of 2TB Caviar green drives to RAID up (RAID 1 or 6 probably) Get a Quad core CPU (Intel i5/i7 probably) Install a Hypervisor Install w2k8 R2 Storage Server for a NAS Install Windows 7 Pro to run Zune/Squeeze box Install any other machines I want to play with Questions Can anyone see any issues with this or have any better ideas?     I am writing a script in Powershell to get the update information from each computer and correlate the information with another System which identifies updates by CVE ID. I have discovered that there is a "CVEIDs" property for an update in WSUS, which is documented in MSDN, but I have no idea how to access the property. Retrieving the CVE ID from WSUS is the key to this script, so I am hoping someone out there can help! I have a problem though, in this tutorial creating a project is explained by running the command django-admin.py startproject mysite My issue is that this doesn't work. I changed to the directory where django-admin.py is located and ran the command chmod +x django-admin.py with no results. I tried adding the directory with the file to my path without results. I ended up fixing my problem with this command python /location/of/django-admin.py startproject mysite which yielded the outcome I expected. My problem is: What do I need to change/configure such that command django-admin.py startproject mysite would be sufficient?     One of our employees works with Entourage on his MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6) accessing Exchange Server 2007. Last Friday morning, I think while working over a VPN, Entourage (I think it was Entourage) deleted all his objects (mail, calendar, contacts) on the server and while creating a lot of strange folders (starting with underscores) on the client. The local data seems to be there, but not in a consistent form. Since the user's mailbox is rather big, I suspect, that there was some kind of "move" operation which did not complete. I tried to export the data, but the export stops because of a corrupted object. Is there a tool or another way to export or retrieve the local data? Edit - FYI: we solved the problem getting his data from the previous night's backup.

Now, I don't want to have to log in to a server every time I want to access this client...is there a way to run the Remote Control Viewer client on my desktop OS so I can take remote control of systems rather than having to remote in from the server? This seems like very basic functionality...but I haven't been able to figure it out thus far.

    I thought I had a working solution for converting .mdi files to PDF using the Microsoft Office Document Imaging object model. The solution is in a Windows Service, but now I'm running into some errors that I'm having trouble tracking down info on. The exception I get is: The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT)) at MODI.DocumentClass.Create(String FileOpen) at DocumentStore.Mdi2PDF(String path, String newPath) Then, in the Event Viewer there is the following Application error: Faulting application MyWindowsServiceName.exe, version 1.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4b97f185, faulting module mso.dll, version 12.0.6425.1000, time stamp 0x49d65443, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000bd8e, process id 0xa5c, application start time 0x01cac08cf032914b. Here's the method that is doing the conversion: private int? I also built a a console apps converting hundreds of documents and DID NOT get the exception. So, it seems to be caused by creating too many instances of the MODI object, but only instantiated within a Service? Doesn't quite make sense. Anybody have any clues about these errors and how to debug them further?

  • moving to a new dedicated server and need advice on the new setup

    I currently have a dedicated server that we have outgrown and we are moving to another server. Our current setup was a 8gb W2008R2 server running a W2008R2 IIS virtual machine using VMWare. We are moving to a 2 cpu 24 gb server with W2012 R2 on Hyper-V. On our virtual machine we are running iis 7.5 and sql server. Sql Server seems to want to eat up all the memory so I had to cap it at 2gb, which doesn't seem sufficient. My question is, when I move the virtual machine to the new server, should I create 2 virtual machines, one for sql server and one for IIS? Or should I leave them both on the same virtual machine? Or even, put the Sql Server on the dedicated server and run the IIS in the vm? I'd like some input on how this should be done, I've not got the experience needed to make the right call. Thanks!
