• Detecting taps on a UIWebView

  Hi, I'm trying to find a way to detect a double tap on a UIWebview. I want to use this action to close it. I however can't find and methods in the documentation for UIWebview taps. Whats the best to add taps to a uiwebview? I tried a tutorial here http://mithin.in/2009/08/26/detecting-taps-and-events-on-uiwebview-the-right-way/ But I don't know how to change my UIWindow to a tap detecting window. Does the above link seem like the best approach or could you suggest another way to remove my WebView?

• Hiding UIToolBar for child views of UITableViewController

  My main controller is a subclass of UITableViewController with a UIToolBar at the bottom and when a row is selected, I'd like to display another view without the toolbar. How can I hide the UIToolBar in the child view? Right now, it's present throughout all child views unless they're created as modal.   I have 2 actions in a Flash file that I would like to test for conversion. One is opening a link in a tab/window, the other loading the content in a Colorbox iframe over the page. How do I randomly choose one of the following actions? • How to use strange characters in a query string

  I am using silverlight / ASP .NET and C#. What if I want to do this from silverlight for instance, // I have left out the quotes to show you literally what the characters // are that I want to use string password = vtakyoj#"5 string encodedPassword = HttpUtility.UrlEncode(encryptedPassword, Encoding.UTF8); // encoded password now = vtakyoj%23%225 URI uri = new URI("http://www.url.com/page.aspx@password=vtakyoj%23%225"); HttpPage.Window.Navigate(uri); If I debug and look at the value of uri it shows up as this (we are still inside the silverlight app), http://www.url.com?password=vtakyoj%23"5 So the %22 has become a quote for some reason. If I then debug inside the page.aspx code (which of course is ASP .NET) the value of Request["pasword"] is actually this, vtakyoj#"5 Which is the original value. How does that work? I would have thought that I would have to go, HttpUtility.UrlDecode(Request["pswd"], Encoding.UTF8) To get the original value. Hope this makes sense? Thanks.

  We develop a WinForm application using Scintilla.NET (1.7) component, which uses SciLexer.dll (unamnaged). At run-time, we distribute both 32bit and 64bit SciLexer.dll, and we load the correct one when the application starts (everything works fine). • WPF Dragging causes renderer to stop

  I'm having a problem with my WPF app, where any sort of drag operation stops the UI from updating. The issue seems periodic, as in, the item drags, stops, drags again, stops, etc. in 2 second intervals. It's affecting all controls, including scroll bars. If checked this question as well as this one, and it doesn't seem to be caused by window transparencies. I'm running Win7 x64 with .NET 3.5sp1. Does anyone know what might be causing this, or a way of figuring out what might be causing this?

• Looking for an automated logging tool/library for .NET!

  Hello, I'm looking for an library/tool for .NET that logs almost everything that happens in my C# application (Windows Form). The problem is that I'm delivering an application to a client (Windows XP) and after doing some task, that classic Microsoft error window appears: "ApplicationName has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" I'm currently handling my application exceptions, but this is something external and I can't get anything from that error, so I would like any automated library that helps me with that. It would work if it logs each line of code executed, orr just log what line was executing before that error appeared, or something that could give me more info about that error. Thank you! P.S: It's a multithreaded application, and have to Timer controls (one for watching a folder every 5secs, and another for watching thread list...). I'm using Windows 7 here and everything seems to work ok.

  Folks, I want to create a webpage with three panes (frameLeft, frameMiddle, frameRight) The content on leftmost pane is a list from file list.html Upon clicking on an item in the leftmost pane, it loads the corresponding html file (call it listLvl2.html) in the middle pane. This is also a list. Clicking further on an item in the middle pane should load the corresponding html file in the third frame (lets call it content.html) I have made an index.html file with three frames. frameLeft loads list.html. I have coded list.html so that every link opens in the target="frameMiddle" . This works well The issue is opening content.html in frameRight. What should I put as the target in my listLvl2.html links so that they open in frameRight? I tried putting it as frameRight, but instead, it opens in a new window. I guess that is because for listLvl2.html , frameRight is not defined.

• Custom Display Form with Custom Workflow button

  I have created a new custom list form that will show 4 fields on the page from a Custom List called "Shipment". I have added Form Action button that I would like to run a custom action that is set inside of a Workflow. Currently, the form displays the fields for "Manifest Number", "Pickup Location", "Delivery Location", & "Scheduled Pickup Time". When the user clicks the Form Action button, what I want the Workflow to do is go to the ID field of the displayed content in the Form and change the value of the "Picked Up" column from No to Yes. The problem I am having is passing the ID of the displayed information from the Form to the Workflow as a variable. I can get the "Picked Up" column to update if I specify the value in the "Update List Item" window under the "Find the List Item" section, but I cannot figure out how to do this dynamically from the Form

• WebKit and npapi and mingw-w64

  Hi, The problem is the following: On Windows x64, pointers are 64-bit, but type long is 32-bit. MSVC doesn't seem to care, and even omits warnings about pointer truncation on the default warning level. Since recently, there is a GCC that target x86_64-w64-mingw32, or better Windows x64 native. GCC produces errors when pointers are truncated (which is the logical thing to do...), and this is causing trouble in WebKit and more specifically, the Netscape Plugin API: First, there's the files (I can only post one hyperlink...): http://trac.webkit.org/browser/trunk/WebCore/ bridge/npapi.h -- defines uint32 as 32-bit int type (~line 145) plugins/win/PluginViewWin.cpp -- casts Windows window handles to 32-bit int, truncating them (~line 450) My proposed fix was to change the uint32 casts to uintptr_t, which makes GCC happy, but still puts a 64-bit value in a uint32 (=unsigned long). I have no clue how to solve this, because clearly WebKit is happy truncating pointers on Win64... How can I solve this the right way? Thanks!

• Using CGContext to display a sprite sheet iPhone

  Hello, So I have a spritesheet in png format, and have already worked out the coordinates for what I want to display. I'm trying to create a method that will return a UIImage when passed the location information on the spritesheet. I'm just not sure how to use the CGContext stuff along with the the coordinates to return an UIImage. I was looking to CGContextClipToRect because I think that is the way to do it, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Something like this CGSize size = CGSizeMake(xSize, ySize); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); //CGContextClipToRect(spriteSheet.size, imageRect); [spriteSheet drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(xPos, yPos)]; UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return scaledImage; returns only what is in the size Context. • What is the life cycle of the XNA GraphicsDevice on the Xbox 360?

  I'm working on an XNA project that doesn't use the built-in Game class, mostly for learning purposes (so I can mess with different game loop types, etc). It's only designed for the Xbox 360, because the hardware is consistent and I don't have to worry about compatibility among different PC hardware configurations. So far, it's working well and I can clear the screen to a color, but I'd like to make sure I handle the GraphicsDevice correctly before moving on. What exactly is the life cycle for the GraphicsDevice on the Xbox 360? Is it ever lost or reset automatically? I know that on Windows, it's lost when the window loses focus, but the Xbox obviously doesn't manage focus. It appears to even keep the graphics device when the Guide pops up, which is the closest thing I can find to "losing focus" on the Xbox. I'd like to think it's simply a matter of "fire and forget," which would make a lot of other things much easier (only needing to load content once, for instance). But I want to make sure.

  I have a cherrypy app that I'm controlling over http with a wxpython ui. I want to kill the server when the ui closes, but I don't know how to do that. • How can I block based on URL (from address bar) in a safari extension

  I'm trying to write an extension that will block access to (configurable) list of URLs if they are accessed more than N times per hour. From what I understand, I need to have a start script pass a "should I load this" message to a global HTML page (who can access the settings object to get the list of URLs), who will give a thumbs up/thumbs down message back to the start script to deny/allow loading. That works out fine for me, but when I use the usual beforeLoad/canLoad handlers, I get messages for all the sub-items that need to be loaded (images/etc..), which screws up the #accesses/hour limit I'm trying to make. Is there a way to synchronously pass messages back and forth between the two sandboxes so I can tell the global HTML page, "this is the URL in the window bar and the timestamp for when this request came in", so I can limit duplicate requests? • Installing unsigned x64 driver to work with libusbdotnet

  Hi all- I am currently in a Windows 7 dev. environment working to get a device to initialize with libusbdotnet. The device (a USB mass storage device) connects and runs using the default USB-MASS Storage driver for Windows. I want to replace this driver with the one created by the .INF Wizard in libusbdotnet. The operating system is a 64-bit, and by default the INF Wizard produces this driver, but I am unable to selected it because it is "unsigned" I believed, when I go to "Pick from a list of drivers" and point to the directory where the newly created device drivers are. I have enabled "TEST MODE" using DESO but I'm still unable to select this file. Anyone familiar with libusbdotnet, or directing devices to work with a specific driver that is unsigned in Window (do I need the .inf file? or the .sys???) do you have any advice about where I'm going wrong?   Hello all, I just started working on python and I have been trying to run an outside executable form python. I have an executable for a program written in Fortran. Lets say the name for the executable is flow.exe. And my executable is lacated in C:\Documents and Settings\flow_model I tried both os.system and popen commands but so far couldnt make it work. The following code seems like opens the command window but wouldnt execute the model. # Import system modules import sys, string, os, arcgisscripting os.system("C:/Documents and Settings/flow_model/flow.exe") Any suggestions out there?   Hi, Just i come across one application.When i load that application,the actual applcation is like toolbar only.Its get loaded in the top of the screen.And the desktop items automatically get moved and displayed below toolbar.Even when i open any other window and maximized the windoe,its get maximized below toolbar only.The screen co ordinates changed to new size. If before the screen size as (0,0,800,600),after this applcation loading it changed to (0,100,800,600). When i exit the application the screen changed to original position and all desktop items get arranged to original positiom. Hows it possible? Can i do that in MFC.

• Embedding Facebook in an IFrame

  I have an app that has an IFrame with a page flash overly allowing you to draw on webpages. When I go to Facebook with the application, an overlay pops up covering everything at 50% opacity (Which is fine). The problem is that the overlay is all black in some installations of IE7. Can anyone advise on how to get around this? • selenium RC doesnt run the whole test suite

  I'm trying to run an html testSuite with Selenium RC. The browser starts, the first test runs, and it stops. It doesnt continue to the second test case. I named both the test cases with .html extension. IAm using Firefox. If i run them manually , individually from the selenium RC test runner window they run ok. what am i missing, this seems pretty simple but yet iam not able to get this working.
