  • Force sharepoint to ask for authentication

    Is there a way to force sharepoint 2010 to popup the dialog to ask the user for a username and password and not use the computers logged in user, if that user doesn't have access. We need an internal sharepoint website to not use the windows credentials, since these are computers used by many people. The windows user doesn't have access to the site, so currently it shows an access denied, click here to log in as another user. We would prefer if it just asked for credentials in a more graceful manner.

It gets quite messy in visual studios design view when you have a MultiView with 10 different views in it. I've already separated the content of each view in several user controls.     I created an application using the method described in the "http:// book.cakephp.org/view/641/Simple-Acl-controlled-Application" but after I try to log in there is an error which says, "DbAcl::allow() - Invalid node [CORE\cake\libs\controller\components\acl.php, line 325]" I did exactly same as mentioned in the website but after loggin in I am given this error msg..     I am currently using an XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype on my vBulletin website. The page in question is PHP. The source (view source) of this page verifies that the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype is on the page. Upon downloading (File Save As) the page in IE8, I realized that my doctype had been replaced with an HTML 4.0 transitional doctype. Why does IE8 change the doctype? Why isn't the doctype its chosen displayed in the "View Source"?

    I am trying to render images from SSRS 2005 via the SOAP call. When the reports service is installed on the same server as my website, the images generated do not render in the page. However, when I connect to the reporting service URL from the same web code on a separate machine the images render just fine. Is there a dependency that I am missing to allow me to run the web and SSRS on the same box?

What's the easiest way to add a "Featured Section" that accomplishes this? I know I can go through and make the post sticky but that seems tedious.
