    I have a daemon that is running as user nobody. It needs to copy a file that I specify into /Users/Shared/MyFolder If I tell it to copy a file that is already in /Users/Shared/ it works fine. If I tell it to copy it from somewhere in my home directory like the desktop, the copy fails. I'm using NSFileManager copyPath:toPath: Any ideas?

  • Can "\Device\NamedPipe\\Win32Pipes" handles cause "Too many open files" error?

    Continuing from this question: When I am trying to do fopen on Windows, I get a "Too many open files" error. I tried to analyze, how many open files I have, and seems like not too much. But when I executed Process Explorer, I noticed that I have many open handles with similar names: "\Device\NamedPipe\Win32Pipes.00000590.000000e2", "\Device\NamedPipe\Win32Pipes.00000590.000000e3", etc. I see that the number of these handles is exactly equal to the number of the iterations that my program executed, before it returned "Too many open files" and stopped. I am looking for an answer, what are these handles, and could they actually cause the "Too many open files" error? In my program I am loading files from remote drive, and I am creating TCP/IP connections. Could one of these operations create these handles?

  • Distributing a bundle of files across an extranet

    I want to be able to distribute bundles of files, about 500 MB per bundle, to all machines on a corporate "extranet" (which is basically a few LANs connected using various private mechanisms, including leased lines and VPN). The total number of hosts is roughly 100, and the goal is to get a copy of the bundle from one host onto all the other hosts reliably, quickly, and efficiently. One important issue is that some hosts are grouped together on single fast LANs in which case the network I/O should be done once from one group to the next and then within each group between all the peers. This is as opposed to a strict central server system where multiple hosts might each fetch the same bundle over a slow link, rather than once via the slow link and then between each other quickly. A new bundle will be produced every few days, and occasionally old bundles will be deleted (but that problem can be solved separately). The machines in question happen to run recent Linuxes, but bonus points will go to solutions which are at least somewhat cross-platform (in which case the bundle might differ per platform but maybe the same mechanism can be used). That's pretty much it. I'm not opposed to writing some code to handle this, but it would be preferable if it were one of bash, Python, Ruby, Lua, C, or C++.

    I am setting the DocumentText property to an HTML string that contains links like: <a href="file:///D:/dir/file.html">NewPage</a> The links are shown properly in the WebBrowser, but nothing happens when I click them. The Navigating, Navigated and DocumentComplete events do not fire - nothing seems to happen at all. AllowNavigation is true and other links using HTTP are working. Any ideas please? Nick

    I need to copy the item that user just added (for example. myresume.doc or financial.xls) with the metadata (doc lib obtains the columns from content type, ct obtains the columns from site colum) and copy the item with metadata in a folder called "NativeFile". Every doc library has this folder. I know itemadded can be used but then I heard itemadded fires before user have a chance to complete the metadata for the item they just added. What are my options?     Hello. How do I have in each *.pas file it's version, incrementing on each save in some comment line? I have plenty of files on three PCs and I need to have a possibility to quickly check their versions against each other. This problem is easily solved by some centralized version control, but some sources I have cannot be trusted to external servers and are kept on TrueCrypt volumes. May be some addon can do that for me? Something like changing $Version: to $Version: 121212 on each save, incrementing this value? May be there is another way also of solving this problem?

  • How can I reload a datagrid in flash action script, after an xml file has loaded

    Hi Everyone, Does anyone know how to change the rowcount of a datagrid in flash after it has been created on the stage. I am loading an xml file externally that contains the number of rows the datagrid should have, but the problem is that becuase this file is not loaded at runtime, it just picks the default 3 items. Maybe I have to reload the datagrid on the stage, or loop until it is defined. Does anyone have experince of this. Regards, Chris
