• Setting a cookie before Javascript Redirection

  Hello, I have a Rails app where I set a set a session variable the moment a user lands on my site with the referer and the page they hit. Additionally, I have Google Optimizer sending traffic from my homepage to various landing pages. The problem is that I think Google Optimizer is sending users away before the cookie is set. Is that even possible? I believe that the cookie is set from the HTTP Header, which must have fully loaded before Google's Javascript has even loaded. Thanks, Jason

• jqGrid - how to change title based on colModel sortable property

  When the mouse hovers over each column I'd like the tooltip to indicate whether that column is sortable. I am able to change the title attribute with something like this: $("#List .ui-th-column").each(function(i) { var isSortable = i % 2; $(this).attr('title', isSortable ? "Not Sortable" : "Click header to sort."); }); I'd like to replace the demo expression 'i % 2' with a check of the colMode's sortable property, but I can't figure out how to get the value of the colModel's sortable property. colModel: [ { name: 'Name', index: 'Name', width: 100, sortable: true }, { name: 'Note', index: 'Note', width: 200, sortable: false } ] I've tried .getGridParam and .getColProp but I don't think the syntax I'm using is correct.

• FireLog: proper installation...

  I have installed the firewiresdk26 on my dev mac... and in the Tools/ directory is FireLog. I have run the FireLog 2.0.0.pkg installer on my dev mac, but the payload it deploys is installed in my /System/Library tree, as opposed to my /Developer/SDKs tree. so when I try to include the header iokit/firewire/FireLog.h it does not get found. am I missing something? or doing something wrong? or is this an error in the installer (either FW26 or FireLog installers?) I realize that the FireLog installer is intended to be run on the machine to be debugged remotely and thus it makes sense that the framework is placed in the /System/Library path, however none of the installers gets it into my developer path... I guess I just have to move it over there by hand, but before I do that I wanted to see if I'm just overlooking something silly and need to read the docs with more concentration or something... anyone run into this before? • how should I order my divs?

  Here's the basic layout of a page I'm working on: What would be the best/easiest way to order the divs? C may or may not be visible (it's a news alert that only displays when there is news). A = Header, B = Menu, E&F = standard content columns, D = latest blog post. I'm thinking ABCEFD might make the most sense, but I could also see ABCDEF. Either of those should be fairly easy to do right using floats... is there a better way? Maybe put CEF inside a "middle column" div?

• Send files using Content-Disposition: attachment in parallel

  I have a PHP page that sends a file to the browser depending on the request data it receives. getfile.php?get=something sends file A, getfile.php?get=somethingelse sends file B and so on and so forth. This is done like so: header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='. urlencode($filename)); readfile($fileURL); It works except it can only send one file at a time. Any other files requested are send in linear fashion. One starts as soon as another finishes. How can I get this to send files in parallel if the user requests another file while one is downloading?

• PHP page load seems to be requesting itself and misinterpreting the result

  I'm working on a messy PHP page by another developer and I was analyzing the resource view in the Webkit developer tools and noticed that the page (index.php) makes an HTTP requests for itself and then interprets the results as an image despite it being sent with the text/html header. Because of this it throws the warning: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. Looking at the time graph the call comes after the <head> because it has already requested images for the body. Sometimes there are even two 'bad' requests. Can anyone explain what might be happening and/or suggest how to fix this? Could these be related to PHP includes?

  I'm struggling with writing a python script that automatically grabs the zip fail containing all my google calendars and stores it (as a backup) on my harddisk. I'm using ClientLogin to get an authentication token (and successfully can obtain the token). Unfortunately, i'm unable to retrieve the file at https://www.google.com/calendar/exporticalzip It always asks me for the login credentials again by returning a login page as html (instead of the zip). Here's the critical code: post_data = post_data = urllib.urlencode({ 'auth': token, 'continue': zip_url}) request = urllib2.Request('https://www.google.com/calendar', post_data, header) try: f = urllib2.urlopen(request) result = f.read() except: print "Error" Anyone any ideas or done that before?   I have a ListView that is binded to my custom collection. At run time , I am updating the certain properties of my entity in my custom collection in my ViewModel. At the same time , I am also doing the custom sorting in the listview. The custom sorting is applicable when I click on the any column header of the listview. For example, I am updating the current datetime on my entity on every 5 seconds and simulaneously , I am applying custom sorting based on DateTime. (The Listview is third party control). Hence I am doing two operations on my custom collection at the same time. Should I pass the dispatcher of my control in the view model and call any methods ( which updates any entity in my custom collection ) through UI dispatcher ?

The values have been added successfully.... Now i want to add two columns IsDeleted,CreatedDate to this datatable... • Why won't my UISearchDisplayController fire the shouldReloadTableForSearchString method when I enter

  I've been following Apple's TableSearch code example, but it's not working for me and I think I'm doing everything the same way they did it. The method below should be fired whenever the user types anything into the search box, but it never gets fired for me, just on the sample app. I have the appropriate @interface ContactsTableVC : UITableViewController { in the header file. I'm not sure what I'm missing or where else to look. My NSLog never gets called. • Binding IsReadOnly using IValueConverter

  Maybe I'm misunderstanding how to use an IValueConverter or data binding (which is likely), but I am currently trying to set the IsReadOnly property of a DataGridTextColumn depending on the value of a string. • C# - Determine if class initializaion causes infinite recursion?

  I am working on porting a VB6 application to C# (Winforms 3.5) and while doing so I'm trying to break up the functionality into various classes (ie database class, data validation class, string manipulation class). Right now when I attempt to run the program in Debug mode the program pauses and then crashes with a StackOverFlowException. VS 2008 suggests a infinite recursion cause. I have been trying to trace what might be causing this recursion and right now my only hypothesis is that class initializations (which I do in the header(?) of each class). My thought is this: mainForm initializes classA classA initializes classB classB initializes classA .... Does this make sense or should I be looking elsewhere? I.e. I want files that include the above header to use the inlined version, but I also want the function to exist in a *.so, so I can dl open it and call it dynamically.

  I made an automation Add-In for Excel, and I made several functions (formulas). I have a class which header looks like this (it is COM visible): [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.AutoDual)] [ComVisible(true)] public class Functions {} In a list of methods, I see: ToString(), Equals(), GetHashCode() and GetType() methods. Since all methods of my class are COM visible, I should somehow hide those 4. I succeeded with 3 of them: ToString(), Equals(), GetHashCode() but GetType() cannot be overriden. Here is what I did with 3 of them: [ComVisible(false)] public override string ToString() { return base.ToString(); } [ComVisible(false)] public override bool Equals(object obj) { return base.Equals(obj); } [ComVisible(false)] public override int GetHashCode() { return base.GetHashCode(); } This doesn't work: [ComVisible(false)] public override Type GetType() { return base.GetType(); } Here is the error message in Visual Studio when compile: ..GetType()': cannot override inherited member 'object.GetType()' because it is not marked virtual, abstract, or override So, what should I do to hide the GetType() method from COM?

• Safari will not redirect to querystring URL

  I have a site built with PHP that does a redirect after certain actions are performed. header("Location: http://example.com/accountArea/?v=updated"); I then show a message based on the value of the query string value. In safari (and only in Safari) after the redirect, you will only see a blank page. I have tried using absolute URL and relative URL in my redirect, neither work. I was unable to find a solution by searching the web so I hope someone here is familiar with this.

• How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

  Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!   I am using the ASP.NET3.5 gridview control in a new project. My problem is that the gridview presents data in basic tabular format, whereas I want a grid with row header / grouping behaviors. An example of this would be Outlook web interface, which can group emails by date, as well as allowing you to select individual emails to display. My problem: I can't see how this could be easily done with Gridview? I did find a product called Telerik that has a seemingly fancy Gridview, but I am hesitant to spend money on a single components that now also locks me into a third-party framework...

• Executing AJAX scripts within an AJAX response

  Hi there, I'm having trouble using AJAX page updates along with other AJAX scripts. During a normal page load, the AJAX scripts (picture scrolling and picture thumbnails) work fine. But when I update a page with AJAX, these scripts (usually loaded in the header of the initial page load) stop working. I am wondering if this is specific to these scripts and I need to look into them deeper to resolve/re-write or if I am missing something more generic in combining AJAX page updates with AJAX scripts the returned code relies on. Embedded javascript runs fine. Thanks for your ideas!   Hi all, I'm trying to modify a header using Middleware in Pylons to make my application RESTful, basically, if the user request "application/json" via GET that is what he get back. The question I have is, the variable headers is basically a long list. Looking something like this: [('Content-Type', 'text/html; charset=utf-8'), ('Pragma', 'no-cache'), ('Cache-Control', 'no-cache'), ('Content-Length','20'), ('Content-Encoding', 'gzip')] Now, I'm looking to just modify the value based on the request - but are these positions fixed? • Why can't I set a cookie and redirect?

  I´m having a problem setting a cookie and doing a 302 redirect In chrome the cookie is not being set (I haven't tested safari), in other browsers I was having the same problem until I added Path=/ to the cookie an now it works.   Hello Friends, I'm writing a C University project and stumbled upon a compiler behavior which I don't understand. In this file http://code.google.com/p/openu-bsc-maximveksler/source/browse/trunk/20465/semester/tasks/maman14/alpha/maman14/assembler/phaseOne.c?r=112 I've added a call to function named freeAsmInstruction(). This function is defined in file named lineParser.c, yet I haven't updated the matching lineParser.h header file to include this function declaration. Why does this code compile? I would expect that gcc would fail to compile phaseOne.c until the correct lineParser.h is updated with the declaration of freeAsmInstruction(). I would appreciate an explanation. Thank you, Maxim
