  I have a asp.net mvc application with NHibernate and I do not know how to resolve a problem to query some data.   What I got so far: It all begins with an HTML form which prompts the user for a username and password. From there it post the acquired user/pass to a servlet, GateKeeper. GateKeeper determines if the user/pass combination match any records in the MySQL database. Here is the sql I use: SELECT id FROM Users WHERE username='?' AND password=MD5('?') where the ? indicate information provided the previous HTML form. What I need now: I need some way to store the username and id of the record in the database. GateKeeper redirects the user to a control panel upon success. Therefore, I need a method to reference the username to display simple greetings, etc and also the id so it eliminates unnecessary calls to the database. The control panel may make AJAX calls to Servlets that preform some sort of task to the MySQL database.

  Hello all, I call this functions on onmouseover and onmouseout for several divs. //Takes effect on divs with id, 62,63,64,65... function slide_it(id){ $('#options_'+id).slideToggle('slow'); } The problem is that if I move my mouse over and then mouse out, then again, mouse over and then mouse out. If I do this several times, the slide effect happens the same number of times I moved my mouse over and out of the div, as expected. But I can't figure out how I can do this once? I can set a variable, but I have several divs that this function is used by and I can't think of a simple way of doing this rather than storing things into an array, but this is messy! I really appreciate any help on this that is simple to implement! Thanks all for any help

• How can I find if an arbitrary process is running under wow64?

  I need a tool which will discover whether an arbitrary process is running in x86 or x64 mode on a machine. I need to do this programatically from C++, based on a process ID. There has to be some way to do this (as you can clearly see it from the task manager). Does anyone know of a windows api that will tell you, given a process ID, whether the application is running under wow64? Another approach would be to figure out, based on the process id, the executable name/path that is running and try to read the PE headers out of the file. Does anyone have a code snippet that would accomplish that?

  In order to fix a bug, I have to iterate over all the rows in a table, updating a cached count of children to what its real value should be. The structure of the things in the table form a tree. Alternatively, is there any way of doing this in multiple queries, but in pure MySQL?   I have this query which displays some properties and count the number of references to it from an other table: SELECT p.id,p.propName ( SELECT COUNT(*) FROM propLoc WHERE propLoc.propID = p.id ) AS number FROM property as p WHERE p.category != 'natural' This generates a good table with all the information I want to filter: id | propName | number 3 | Name 1 | 3 4 | Name 2 | 1 5 | Name 3 | 0 6 | Name 4 | 10 etc etc I now want to filter out the properties with number <= 0 So I tried to add an AND number > 0 But it reacts with Unknown column 'number' in 'where clause' apparently you can't filter on a name specified by a subquery? How can I achieve my goal?

I'm looking to create an options table in my db that makes every record a system option, so i can work with a little number of fields. my db has the following structure: 3 columns named id, name, and value following data is inserted as an example -- id - name - value 1 - uri - www.example.com 2 - sitename - Working it out 3 - base_folder - /folder1/folder2/ 4 - slogan - Just a slogan for the site -- that way i can include a large number of customizable system options very easily the problem is that i don't know how to retrieve them how do i get the value of uri and store it as a var? and better yet, how do i get, for exmaple, values of id 1 and 4 only without making a query each time? (i assume multiple queries are useless and a pretty ugly method) i know the question is pretty basic but i'm lost here. i'd really appreciate your answer! Thanks in advance

Let's say I have the following table: Table VOTE ID ID_IDEA DATE_VOTE with ID_IDEA FK(IDEA.ID) 1 3 10/10/10 2 0 09/09/10 3 3 08/08/10 4 3 11/11/10 5 0 06/06/10 6 1 05/05/10 I'm trying to find the latest votes given for each individual idea, meaning I want to return only rows with ID 4, 2 and 6. It seems with Oracle that you can't use GROUP BY without using a function like SUM(), AVG, etc. I'm a bit confused about how it's supposed to work. Please advise, Thanks.

• Recursive MySQL function call eats up too much memory and dies.

• Select multiple unique lines in MySQL

  Hi, I've got a table with the following columns: ID, sysid, x, y, z, timereceived ID is a unique number for each row. sysid is an ID number for a specific device (about 100 different of these) x, y and z is data received from the device. (totally random numbers) timereceived is a timestamp for when the data was received. I need a SQL query to show me the last inserted row for device a, device b, device c and so on. I've been playing around with a lot of different Select statements, but never got anything that works. I manage to get unique rows by using group by, but the rest of the information is random (or at least it feels very random). Anyone able to help me? There could be hundreds of thousands records in this table.

• CSS and JQuery: spaces inside image name break code of url()

  Hi, I have a page that is supposed to display a larger version of an image when hovered over a thumbnail. I have a 'div' with an ID and the JQuery code is as following: $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').hover(function() { var src = $("#im" + this.id).attr("src"); $('#viewlarge').css('backgroundImage','url(' + src +')'); return false; }); }); The images I use, are generated by a Ruby script that "generate" an image with a similar, yet different id. However, sometimes, photo's are uploaded that have "spaces" inside. My developer tools tell me that the background-image is not set correctly, yet the image path is correct and the browser don't have problems finding the image. My question is, can I somehow sanitize the url 'src', so spaces won't be a problem? I am aware of doing this server side, yet I would like to know how to do this with JQuery/JS too. Thanks!
