  • sqlite3_prepare_v2 throws SQLITE_ERROR in iPhone code

    - by incognitii
    I have a piece of code that used to work, and other iterations of it that DO work within the same app, and have compared code, and they are identical in structure. This is driving me INSANE!!!!!! In this instance, sqlite3_prepare_v2 is throwing one of those useless SQLITE_ERROR exceptions. Apparently, it can FIND the database, and OPEN the database, but it can't prepare a statement for it. Does ANYONE have any ideas? I'm desperate here. second_maindatabaseName = @"database.db"; NSArray *documentPaths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDir = [documentPaths objectAtIndex:0]; second_maindatabasePath = [documentsDir stringByAppendingPathComponent:second_maindatabaseName]; // Setup the database object sqlite3 *database; // Init the entry requirements Array BOOL success; NSFileManager *fileManager = [NSFileManager defaultManager]; success = [fileManager fileExistsAtPath:second_maindatabasePath]; if(!success) { NSString *databasePathFromApp = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:second_maindatabaseName]; [fileManager copyItemAtPath:databasePathFromApp toPath:second_maindatabasePath error:nil]; [fileManager release]; } if(sqlite3_open([second_maindatabasePath UTF8String], &database) == SQLITE_OK) { NSUserDefaults *defaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; value1 = [defaults stringForKey:kConst1]; value2 = [defaults stringForKey:kConst2]; value3 = [defaults stringForKey:kConst3]; value4 = [defaults stringForKey:kConst4]; const char *sqlStatement = "SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE Field1 = ? AND Field2 = ? AND Field3 = ? AND Field4 = ?"; sqlite3_stmt *compiledStatement; int error_code = sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sqlStatement, -1, &compiledStatement, NULL); if(error_code == SQLITE_OK) { // Loop through the results and add them to the feeds array sqlite3_bind_text(compiledStatement,1,[value1 UTF8String],-1,SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(compiledStatement,2,[value2 UTF8String],-1,SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(compiledStatement,3,[value3 UTF8String],-1,SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(compiledStatement,4,[value4 UTF8String],-1,SQLITE_TRANSIENT); while(sqlite3_step(compiledStatement) == SQLITE_ROW) { // Read the data from the result row NSString *aNewValue = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(char *)sqlite3_column_text(compiledStatement, 1)]; } } sqlite3_finalize(compiledStatement); } sqlite3_close(database);

  • GCD function in matlab

    - by SalemFayad
    hi, i am looking for a way to implement the "gcd" function used in matlab in another language but i really cant understand the way it functions. it says in http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/techdoc/ref/gcd.html that: "[G,C,D] = gcd(A,B) returns both the greatest common divisor array G, and the arrays C and D, which satisfy the equation: A(i).*C(i) + B(i).*D(i) = G(i)." but it says nothing about how it calculates C and D. i would be grateful if someone has a clearer idea about this subject! thanks:)

  • How to break this string and sort on version number

    - by Sean P
    I have an ASP app that has a string array as such (there are much more than this): 7.5.0.17 Date: 05_03_10 7.5.0.18 Date: 05_03_10 7.5.0.19 Date: 05_04_10 7.5.0.2 Date: 02_19_10 7.5.0.20 Date: 05_06_10 7.5.0.3 Date: 02_26_10 7.5.0.4 Date: 03_02_10 7.5.0.5 Date: 03_08_10 7.5.0.6 Date: 03_12_10 7.5.0.7 Date: 03_19_10 7.5.0.8 Date: 03_25_10 7.5.0.9 Date: 03_26_10 7.5.1.0 Date: 05_06_10 How do I go about sorting these string by version descending?

  • How to load a binary file(.bin) of size 6 MB in a varbinary(MAX) column of SQL Server 2005 database

    - by Feroz Khan
    How to load a binary file(.bin) of size 6 MB in a varbinary(MAX) column of SQL Server 2005 database using ADO in vc++ application. This is the code I am using to load the file which I used to load a .bmp file BOOL CSaveView::PutECGInDB(CString strFilePath, FieldPtr pFileData) { //Open File CFile fileImage; CFileStatus fileStatus; fileImage.Open(strFilePath,CFile::modeRead); fileImage.GetStatus(fileStatus); //Alocating memory for data ULONG nBytes = (ULONG)fileStatus.m_size; HGLOBAL hGlobal = GlobalAlloc(GPTR,nBytes); LPVOID lpData = GlobalLock(hGlobal); //Putting data into file fileImage.Read(lpData,nBytes); HRESULT hr; _variant_t varChunk; long lngOffset = 0; UCHAR chData; SAFEARRAY FAR *psa = NULL; SAFEARRAYBOUND rgsabound[1]; try { //Create a safe array to store the BYTES rgsabound[0].lLbound = 0; rgsabound[0].cElements = nBytes; psa = SafeArrayCreate(VT_UI1,1,rgsabound); while(lngOffset<(long)nBytes) { chData = ((UCHAR*)lpData)[lngOffset]; hr = SafeArrayPutElement(psa,&lngOffset,&chData); if(hr != S_OK) { return false; } lngOffset++; } lngOffset = 0; //Assign the safe array to a varient varChunk.vt = VT_ARRAY|VT_UI1; varChunk.parray = psa; hr = pFileData-AppendChunk(varChunk); if(hr != S_OK) { return false; } } catch(_com_error &e) { //get info from _com_error _bstr_t bstrSource(e.Source()); _bstr_t bstrDescription(e.Description()); _bstr_t bstrErrorMessage(e.ErrorMessage()); _bstr_t bstrErrorCode(e.Error()); TRACE("Exception thrown for classes generated by #import"); TRACE("\tCode= %08lx\n",(LPCSTR)bstrErrorCode); TRACE("\tCode Meaning = %s\n",(LPCSTR)bstrErrorMessage); TRACE("\tSource = %s\n",(LPCSTR)bstrSource); TRACE("\tDescription = %s\n",(LPCSTR)bstrDescription); } catch(...) { TRACE("Unhandle Exception"); } //Free Memory GlobalUnlock(lpData); return true; } But when I read the same file using Getchunk funcion it gives me all 0,s but the size of the file I get is same as the one uploaded. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • How effective are technical test(s) and is it necessary?

    - by The Elite Gentleman
    Hi everyone, I recently took a Java technical test (for a company who wanted are looking for senior java developers) and, funny enough, I only realised the technical terms of what I've been doing all along after I've written the test. I'm not too IT jargon when it comes to development but I can pretty much code and create solutions unaware that I'm using design pattern (or the specifics of that design pattern) or technology. I learned things such as JMS, Frameworks, etc. while programming at home and having to google stuff online to problems I have. Others e.g. IoC, Surrogates in Databases, etc., I have used extensively without knowing that it had a name for it. Do you think that these technical test are effective and why? What interesting questions did you find that boggled your brains out while the clock kept ticking? Seeing that IT is vastly evolving at a rapid rate, do we have to constantly be updated with new terms that comes out? Some questions I was asked : What object oriented principle is violated by this architectural mechanism for dot notation? Is indexing tables effective for range query or point query search? What is ThreadLocal and what is it used for? Method overloading vs Method overriding. What is the difference between the 2? What is dynamic binding? Now, imagine my poor head trying to understand these jargons (considering I use it almost everyday) PS The question was not a programming question, where you have a problem and write code to solve it. Rather, a thinking type question and you write answers (against the clock). Update I clearly didn't come out clearly as I should have. There are those that are technically "book smart" but with very little hands-on experience and vice versa. So, the question (in connection to what I've asked) is that are these technical test seeking "book smart" people or people with lots of hands-on experience (some who are not that well clued up with too much book-smart jargons). How effective is it then, for companies to look for developers if most of the questions are too terminology-centric? (if that's the correct term, :))

  • Get Class List for Element with JQuery

    - by Buggabill
    Is there a way in JQuery to loop through or assign to an array all of the classes that are assigned to an element? ex. <div class="Lorem ipsum dolor_spec sit amet">Hello World!</div> I will be looking for a "special" class as in "dolor_spec" above. I know that I could use hasClass() but the actual class name may not necessarily be known at the time.

  • Jquery Ajax Call In For Loop Only Runs Once - Possible Issue with Timing & Exit Condition?

    - by Grumps
    Background I'm building a form that uses autocomplete against the EchoNest API. First the users picks an artist, using the Artist Suggest call. Next they select a song but the Song and/Or Artist song search doesn't provide a "wild card" search. It only returns exact matches. So based on the forums they suggest building an array of the songs and using auto complete on the array. I can only get a maximum of 100 responses at a time. I do know based on the initial response the number of songs. My Plan: Wrap the ajax call in a for loop ('runonceloop'). Amend the loop exit condition after the first response with the total number of songs. Challenge I'm having: The 'runonceloop' only completes a singe loop because or at least that's what I believe: The exit condition is satisfied before the first response [1] is received. I've tried to adjust the 'exit condition' and 'counter' such that they are set and and increased at the end of the success block. This seems to lock up my browser. Can someone provide some guidance on this situation?[2] I'd really appreciate it. I also don't think turning async off is a good idea because it locks the browser. Response[1]: { "response": { "status": { "code": "0", "message": "Success", "version": "4.2" }, "start": 0, "total": 121, //Used for "songs": [ { "id": "SOXZYYG127F3E1B7A2", "title": "Karma police" }, { "id": "SOXZABD127F3E1B7A2", "title" : "Creep" } ] } } } Code[2] var songsList = []; function getSongs() { var numsongs = 2; //at least 2 runs. var startindex = 0; runonceloop: //<~~~~Referenced in question for (var j = 0;j >= numsongs;) { console.log('numsongs' + numsongs); $.ajax({ url: "http://developer.echonest.com/api/v4/artist/songs", dataType: "jsonp", data: { results: 100, api_key: "XXXXXXXXXXX", format: "jsonp", name: $("#artist").val(), start: startindex }, success: function (data) { var songs = data.response.songs; numsongs = data.response.total; //modify exit condition for (var i = 0; i < songs.length; i++) { songsList.push(songs[i].title); } j +=100;// increase by 100 to match number of responses. } }); }};

  • Js (+Mootools) - Why my script use over 60% of processor?

    - by Misiur
    On this site - LINK - i need to use 3 banner scrollers (2x vertical + 1x horizontal). I've tried to do it in flash, but then everyone web browsers shut down, or suspended. • Bassistance Autocomplete Plugin - Search Page Replacement

    - by Dante
    Hi, i've setup an autocomplete field that searches my database which works fine: $("#autocomplete input#lookupAccount").autocomplete("lib/php/autocomplete_backend.php", { width: 300, selectFirst: false, delay: 250 }); When a user clicks on a result I want to refer them to another page depending on what they've been clicking. In the documentation I find the following: Search Page Replacement An autocomplete plugin can be used to search for a term and redirect to a page associated with a resulting item. The following is one way to achieve the redirect: var data = [ {text:'Link A', url:'/page1'}, {text:'Link B', url: '/page2'} ]; $("...").autocomplete(data, { formatItem: function(item) { return item.text; } }).result(function(event, item) { location.href = item.url; }); So i need to return the following from my PHP file : {text:'link A', url:'/page1'},... But my PHP file now returns $returnData = "<ul>"; if(isset($results)){ for($j=0; $j < count($results); $j++){ if($results[$j][0] == "account"){ if($j % 2){ $returnData .= "<li>".$results[$j][1]."<br /><i>".$results[$j][2].", ".$results[$j][3]." ".$results[$j][4]."</i></li>"; } else { $returnData .= "<li style=\"background: blue\">".$results[$j][1]."<br /><i>".$results[$j][2].", ".$results[$j][3]." ".$results[$j][4]."</i></li>"; } } else { $returnData .= "<li style=\"background: yellow\"><i>".$results[$j][1]."</i> (".$results[$j][2].")</li>"; } } $returnData .= "</ul>"; echo $returnData; } else { echo "Sorry geen resultaten!"; } So it loops through an array and returns an li value depending on what it finds in the array. How can I match that with: {text:'link A', url:'/page1'}???

  • Symfony2 - PdfBundle not working

    - by ElPiter
    Using Symfony2 and PdfBundle to generate dynamically PDF files, I don't get to generate the files indeed. Following documentation instructions, I have set up all the bundle thing: autoload.php: 'Ps' => __DIR__.'/../vendor/bundles', 'PHPPdf' => __DIR__.'/../vendor/PHPPdf/lib', 'Imagine' => array(__DIR__.'/../vendor/PHPPdf/lib', __DIR__.'/../vendor/PHPPdf/lib/vendor/Imagine/lib'), 'Zend' => __DIR__.'/../vendor/PHPPdf/lib/vendor/Zend/library', 'ZendPdf' => __DIR__.'/../vendor/PHPPdf/lib/vendor/ZendPdf/library', AppKernel.php: ... new Ps\PdfBundle\PsPdfBundle(), ... I guess all the setting up is correctly configured, as I am not getting any "library not found" nor anything on that way... So, after all that, I am doing this in the controller: ... use Ps\PdfBundle\Annotation\Pdf; ... /** * @Pdf() * @Route ("/pdf", name="_pdf") * @Template() */ public function generateInvoicePDFAction($name = 'Pedro') { return $this->render('AcmeStoreBundle:Shop:generateInvoice.pdf.twig', array( 'name' => $name, )); } And having this twig file: <pdf> <dynamic-page> Hello {{ name }}! </dynamic-page> </pdf> Well. Somehow, what I just get in my page is just the normal html generated as if it was a normal Response rendering. The Pdf() annotation is supposed to give the "special" behavior of creating the PDF file instead of rendering normal HTML. So, having the above code, when I request the route http://www.mysite.com/*...*/pdf, all what I get is the following HTML rendered: <pdf> <dynamic-page> Hello Pedro! </dynamic-page> </pdf> (so a blank HTML page with just the words Hello Pedro! on it. Any clue? Am I doing anything wrong? Is it mandatory to have the alternative *.html.twig apart from the *.pdf.twig version? I don't think so... :(

  • How does a hash table work?

    - by Arec Barrwin
    I'm looking for an explanation of how a hashtable works - in plain English for a simpleton like me! For example I know it takes the key, calculates the hash (how?) and then performs some kind of modulo to work out where it lies in the array that the value is stored, but that's where my knowledge stops. Could anyone clarify the process. Edit: I'm not looking specifically about how hashcodes are calculated, but a general overview of how a hashtable works.

  • Parameterized include in Classic ASP with VBScript

    - by Thom Smith
    I want to write a function that will include an external file, much like Server.Execute, but will pass along parameters. I'm aware that Server.Execute will pass along query parameters, but I'd like to pass data more generally. For instance: ' main.asp MyInclude("external.inc", Array("mykey", "myval")) ' external.inc Response.Write mykey I doubt I can get quite that far without reading the external fine, twiddling it, and executing, but I'd like to get as close as reasonably possible. Also, if possible, I'd prefer avoiding using the query passing option for security reasons.

  • are deleted entries counted in the load factor of a hash table using open addressing

    - by Dr. Monkey
    When calculating the load factor of a hashtable with an open-addressing array implementation I am using: numberOfKeysInArray/sizeOfArray however it occurred to me that since deleted entries must be marked as such (to distinguish them from empty spaces), it might make sense to include these in the number of keys. My thinking is that as far as estimating the average number of probes to find an entry, deleted entries should count towards the load factor, but as far as inserting a new key they should not. Which is the proper calculation: including deleted keys or not?
