• What is magento ecommerce plotting ???

  I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to to discuss this issue but I am a Magento developer and ever since they announced they were going to build magento as a PAAS platform, I began to not trust where they are trying to go with the company. As a business I respect where they are trying to go as a company, but as a developer who highly depends on their platform for my business, I feel that they will eventually become a player in their own game. Ebay has announced that they will be acquiring the license to the magento platform and this makes you wonder why a company like eBay would want to do such a thing. Ebay is known for their pre-built stores. it would seem they would only team with magento only to utilize their PAAS web stores. I dunno, maybe I am a little confused about the whole situation. that's why i would like to hear everyone else opinion.

• What ports tend to be unfiltered by boneheaded firewalls?

  Hi all, I like to be able to ssh into my server (shocking, I know). The problem comes when I'm traveling, where I face a variety of firewalls in hotels and other institutions, having a variety of configurations, sometimes quite boneheaded. I'd like to set up an sshd listening on a port that has a high probability of getting through this mess. Any suggestions? The sshd currently listens on a nonstandard (but < 1024) port to avoid script kiddies knocking on the door. This port is frequently blocked, as is the other nonstandard port where my IMAP server lives. I have services running on ports 25 and 80 but anything else is fair game. I was thinking 443 perhaps. • Turtle Beach Headset Chat Volume Wheel on Windows

  I have this headset http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/headsets-legacy/ear-force-x11/235 I am using it with a Windows 8.1 PC using digital audio out on my motherboard (no dedicated sound card). The cable has 2 volume wheels labelled "Game" and "Chat". I would like to be able to control, say Google Hangouts or Skype volume with the chat wheel, and all other audio with the other wheel. Is this possible? The closest thing I can find is "Communications Device" vs "Device" under the Sound control panel in Windows.

  Hello postgre experts. I am completely new to the game but need the following: I Create a new role with login. Let's say: User1 I then create a Database 'User1Database' and set User1 as the owner. User1 has no rights to do anything except for access. Now when I connect using User1 it somehow has access to all databases. I then learned I neeed to write something in here. User1 should have global access to User1Database and absolutely no access to anything else. What lines do I need to add to my pg_hba file? Currently it looks like this: # IPv4 local connections: host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5 # IPv6 local connections: host all all ::1/128 md5 host all all 0.0.0.0/0 md5 Hope someone can write me the exact lines and explain them to me.

  I'd like to know if the install was truly done as a clean Windows 7 or If the windows 7 was installed over the vista as an upgrade - 32 bit and ultimate verstion? I noticed hp game stuff (wild tanget or something ) during an virus scan and it was not suppose to be in a clean install...so now I'm wondering how to verify what kind of install Really happened/ Any help? • Logging another person off in Windows 7 using Task Manager

  Under WinXP, I could use Task Manager's Users tab to log off my wife's account which she always leaves logged in so I don't have to log in to her account and log it out. It's an older machine so I used that trick to free up every resource I could which might potentially slow down the game I'm playing at the time. I recently upgraded the machine to Win7 and when I try the same trick, I get an access denied popup. My logged in account does have Admin rights, so is it as simple as runing Task Manager "as an Administrator" in order to allow this? If so, how can I pull up Task Manager (other than the standard CTRL-ALT-DELETE) to have it pop up with Admin rights in order to log her account off in this manner?

• Share one monitor with another user and display their screen as well

  My housemate and I just started playing the original RollerCoaster Tycoon again - what a nostalgia trip! Anyways, we both have two monitors, and would like to view the other's game on the secondary monitor while playing, since we're in different rooms. VNC-like applications sorta work, but they require two separate instances running (one to share each direction), and as a whole are rather slow and clumsy. We don't need any remote control at all, just viewing. I'm using XP, he Win7. We could probably get it to run through some means in Linux, if necessary.

• Palm software that can turn the Palm IR keyboard into a Bluetooth keyboard for PC?

  I had this kooky idea this morning. I love my foldout palm keyboard, but it only speaks IR to my Palm Treo. But it also has a Bluetooth radio so I thought wouldn't it be just keen to have a program that runs on the Treo that reads from the IR the keyboard and exposes it as a Bluetooth keyboard for a PC. I realize I'm way late to the game because there's so little information about the Palm anymore. I was thinking of writing this software if it wasn't too big of a deal, but I figured I'd see if anybody knew of such a project already in existence or something like it that I could piggyback off of. Not even sure if I can get the Palm OS Developers' kit anymore....

• reducing Windows 7 size

  My Windows 7 uses around 16 GB while Windows XP only around 4 GB hard disk space. Seems weird. I use Windows only for gaming so I dont need a lot of stuff they have to offer. What is the best way to reduce Windows 7 size? What can I delete / uninstall and how? Also I'd like reduce RAM and processor usage as much as possible (as long as it doesnt hurt game performance)... turn off all that fancy stuff and so on. What can I turn off and how? There are a couple of other questions like this on the site but they're over a year old and knowing how fast paced the software game is I thought i'd repost! I use MacDraft for my 2d drafting and the same companies Interiors Pro for my 3d work, have done for a while. I used Rhino 4.0 at uni but being a student I had to find software that wasn't thousands of £$£$!! thus stumbling onto the Microspot products. • Software to draw custom street maps?

  I'm looking for any (Windows) software that allows me to draw custom street maps. I'm not looking for something that displays existing maps from real places, but something that allows me to define my own map. Obviously this can be achieved through any graphics program however I am wondering if there's a software which makes it almost drag-drop easy to create your own maps of visual quality to that of Open Street Maps, Google Maps, street directories etc. Preferably an offline desktop app with attention on design rather than complex geospacial specifics. Context: I want to make a detailed street map for a game I'm making.

• Are there significant performance difference between chipsets?

  I wanted to build a single PC to fit all my needs, but since hardware virtualization support (Vt-d specifically) is a huge problem, I decided to build multiple single-use oriented computers. In this scenario I want these computers to be as minimal as possible. So the core of my question is: "Are there significant performance difference between chipsets?" I'm considering Sandy-Bridge i7 or i5 for my "game console" computer. And since I will use only one graphic card, one or two HDD, 4-8GB RAM and nothing else, I would be fine with a micro-ATX board with a Q67 (or some other low-end chipset).

• Problem whit usb wireless mouse

  Recently i have thi problem whit my wireless mouse (Trust model on: www.trust.com/15313). Sometimes when i start the Pc or during a game the pointer/arrow stop to move it. In the Pc start the pointer is blocked on the center of the screen. If I'm lucky i have to chance the USB wirless adapter from port 1 to port 2 but sometimes this trick doesn't work i to use the mouse i have to restart. Like you can see in the productor webpage this mouse don't have the direver but only a tool to solve some problem. • Steam app and age verification issue

  I have OSX 10.9.4 with the Steam App (API v016 and package versions 1407966480) installed. When I would visit game pages that required age verification, my birthday would be filled in due to being logged in and I would just click OK to move past. Now the age verification shows up with January 1st, 2014 each time and it will not let me change the date. The drop down menus just show up blank. I have tried to log out of my computer, log out of Steam, restart Steam, restart my computer, and reinstall Steam. Nothing has worked and it continues to have this issue. When I visit the Steam website, the age verification drop downs work just fine. What is causing this issue? And/or how can I fix this issue?

  I kept thinking about this, and out of sheer curiosity, I decided to ask: If music isn't loud enough. How do I get the best quality?(Even if the difference is in fact so small it's neglectible) By making the music louder in my music player, game or other sound-producing software program. By raising the volume at the Operating System level (for instance, by clicking the 'speaker' icon on the windows bar and turning the volume up) By turning the volume up on the Amplifier or Speakers that are attached to your computer, and thus changing the volume on the 'hardware' Does programs vs OS matter? • Problem with usb wireless mouse

  Recently I have started having problems with my wireless mouse (Wireless Optical Mouse MI-4910D). Sometimes when I start my PC or during a game the pointer/arrow stops moving. When the PC boots the pointer is locked in the center of the screen. If I'm lucky it helps to change the USB wireless adapter from port 1 to port 2 but sometimes this trick doesn't work and I have to restart my PC to get the mouse to work again.   I have found a way to make reverse-proxy to an external IP. Here is how someone making a request will see it's request being passed: Clients sends request Request reaches the Datacenter one in some place That datacenter, acting as a reverse proxy will redirect the same exact request to another datacenter. The datacenter will then process the request Although, this only works with TCP/HTTP (Looking currently at HaProxy). I am hosting game servers at the other datacenter (where the proxy is not) that are using UDP protocol. Do you know how can I setup a reverse proxy using the UDP protocol.

• Disconnected from WiFi, Windows claims otherwise [closed]

  I'm connected via wifi to my ISP's router/modem. While Windows says that I'm always connected, I keep getting messages from Netgear Genie that I've lost contact to the Internet, and I cannot access webpages until it comes back. There are two other computers in the house, one connected to the router via ethernet, the other via wifi, both seem to have no such problems. I've wondered if Netgear genie itself was the problem, but I am regularly disconnected even if I uninstall it. And I'd rather have it since it accurently tells me if I'm connected or not. Why does windows says I'm online if I can't access any online game, or website ? I've removed the connection, recreated it, I've even copied the settings to a usb key from the computer that has wifi access. Is there a tool that can tell me which program, if any, is disconecting me ?

• Simulating mouse clicks at specific screen coordinates

  I would like to be able to bind some keys to mouse clicks done in specific locations. For example: when I press F1 I should get a left mouse click at coordinates 300x350, F2 at 600x350 and so on. Even better if this could be bound to a specific window application so that coordinates could be relative to it instead of the base desktop. Is there a software which allows this? ADDITION: Ok autohotkey is great but I have problems with my particular setup. Quoting my comment below: I'm using it with an old game (championship manager 01/02) which runs in windowed mode (and I have to set win98 compatibility for it to run): I can get the mouse to move but no click goes to the application I have read this FAQ but it didn't help, this is the script I tried: SendMode Play SetKeyDelay, 0, 50, Play F1::Click 42, 191 F2::ControlSend ahk_class main, Click, Championship Manager 01/02 Still no luck: pointer moves but no click goes through.

• BSOD when playing Portal 2 using ATI Radeon 4800 on H61M/U3S3 mobo

  playing Portal 2 will always give me blue screen of death, usually after about 10 minutes of playing. BSOD references atikmpag.sys. I have tried several updates for graphics driver and through ATI Catalyst Center. I have updated the motherboard BIOS. My RAM is OK. Nothing changes. I had previously run the game fine, then I removed my video card to use on-board graphics once, and after re-installing the video card, I get this problem every time. • Software for capturing still image snapshots from video input

  What software is available that will let me watch video from a USB video capture device at full PAL/NTSC resolution and capture a still image at a button press? More info: I'm using a KaiserBaas USB capture device (http://www.kaiserbaas.com/kaiser-baas-product-page/converters/video-to-dvd-maker), and want to capture screen shots from a PS2 connected to it. I'd like to play the game at the full PS2 resolution and capture certain scenes. The device has a one-touch snapshot button on it, but I can't seem to make it work and there's no mention of it anywhere in the documentation. The device works and the video appears in Power Producer (the included software), but I think it previews it smaller than the full resolution. I could print screen it, but having to crop will be a pain.

• Missing 16:10 resolutions with Nvidia drivers (Can't add resolutions)

  Hello, I have a laptop with a Nvidia 9650M GT and used the drivers that Seven brought me. It works fine but Metro 2033 tells me that i have to upgrade my drivers to play the game. So i did it. But since i did a clean install of the new Nvidia drivers, i just have 1440*900 or 4:3 resolutions. I usually played with 1280*800 or 1184*740 (for performance issue) With the "old" drivers i was able to create custom resolution (1184*740) in Nvidia control panel but now when i try it tells me that "my monitor cannot support this resolution". When i insist, it works but soon as i shut down my computer i have to recreate it.. Do anyone have a fix ? Thank you

• I am the one who needs 5000 cd's!!!!!!

  I didn't realise how world wide the users of the site are. I am based in England and will be helping out at an International Camp for young people in Finland this summer. I will be in charge off an game where we will have 1500 young people searcing for these CD's that will be hidden all over the camp site. They will have to find them and bringing them back to base one at a time. The young people will be divided into 5 teams and the team that brings back the most gets a prize. Hope this helps and allows me to put the reequest back on the site. I have tried to source them in Finland but have had no success.

• Using PCIe and onboard together

  I'm currently using my PCI Express card to run 2 monitors and my onboard to run another. It works fine despite people saying it won't. I use a gadget to monitor my PCI card but would also like to monitor my onboard GPU as well. I play a game called Eve Online and when I'm running my accts I can only get 20 fps. Before, when I was using just my PCI card, I was getting 60+. To solve this, I set the display options to interval immediate, it was set to one before. My computer handles it no problem at all, but I was always told this was immpossible. I was hoping someone could explain how and why this is working. Thanks! My setup is: i7 2600k 16 GB RAM XFX HD6970 2GB

• What is the best drive cleaner?

  What is the best drive "cleaner" application, an application that deletes roaming, temp. and different useless caches. Something similar to CCleaner, but more powerful. I need it to delete more than the basic stuff. Like duplications of complex files or redundancies, (example... for every game there's the DirectX suite) without deleting program essential files, obviously. I know most of this has to do with my selection of these programs, but I haven't seen anything that lets me select types of files to delete, not just specific files.
