  • Sync local directory with remote FTPS?

    How do I keep my local directory in sync with my remote FTPS directory? Note that I've tried WinSCP, but found that it only works a few times then I need to restart it to get it going again. Also I've tried all the utilities mentioned here but only a few supported the connection requirements (explicit SSL over FTP), and those that did didn't have "realtime" directory sync. Also note that a curl, rsync or wput command which I can put into "scheduled tasks" will suffice, if it can do directory sync.

  • What's the correct SELinux type for a directory?

    If I create a new filesystem/directory off of / and I set the Linux permissions to 770 I expect the group to be able to read and write files in that directory. SELinux was preventing me from doing this until I changed the SELinux type on that directory to public_content_rw_t. If this is just a directory in which users in that group will share files is this an acceptable SELinux type or should I be using another one? Writing a custom policy seems like overkill for these purposes. Thanks

Now the problem is that sometimes I don't really know which one I'm currently looking at. Is there a way to have the active application take on a different color or some other indication that it's the active window.   • Does Scrum turn active developers into passive developers?

    I'm a web developer working in a team of three developers and one designer. It's now about five months that we've implemented the agile scrum software development methodology. But I have a weird feeling I just wanted to share in this site. One important factor in human life is decision-making process. However, there is a big difference in decisions you make. Some decisions are just the outcome of an internal or external force, while other decisions are completely based on your free will, and some decisions are simply something in between. The more freedom you have in making decisions, the more self-driven your work would become. This seems to be a rule. Because we tend to shape our lives ourselves. There is a big difference between you deciding what to do, or being told what to do. Before scrum, I felt like having more freedom in making the decisions which were related to development, analysis, prioritizing implementation, etc. I had more feeling like I'm deciding what I'm doing. However, due to the scrum methodology, now many decisions simply come from the product owner. He prioritizes PBIs, he analyzes how the software should work, even sometimes how the UI and functionality should be implemented. I know that this is part of the scrum methodology, and I also know that this may result in better sales of product in future. However, I now feel like I'm always getting told to do something, instead of deciding to do something. This syndrome now has made me more passive towards the work. I tend to search less to find a better solution, approach, or technique I don't wake up in the morning expecting to get to an enjoyable work. Rather, I feel like being forced to work in order to live I have more hunger to work on my own hobby projects after work I won't push the team anymore to get to the higher technological levels I spend more time now on dinner, or tea-times and have less enthusiasm to get back to work I'm now willing more for the work to finish sooner, so that I can get home The big problem is, I see and diagnose this behavior in my colleagues too. Is it the outcome of scrum? Does scrum really makes the development team feel like they have no part in forming the overall software, thus making the passive to the project? How can I overcome this feeling?

It wont populate the column category_id for the product. It just leaves it empty. What am I doing wrong?

  • Proper way to remove an active / inactive LVM snapshot

    I have created a sample ruby script file for removing extra LVM snapshots from the system. For removing LVM snapshot, we are using lvremove command. This command is working fine and we can remove snapshots from the system. # sudo lvremove /dev/ops/dbbackup lvremove -- do you really want to remove "/dev/ops/dbbackup"? [y/n]: y Sometimes while removing snapshots we are getting following errors. Unable to deactivate open rootfs_12.10_20140812_00-cow (252:8) Failed to resume rootfs_12.10_20140812_00. libdevmapper exiting with 7 device(s) still suspended. The system gets frozen. We cannot fire any command or can not perform any action on it. After restarting the system, it is functioning fine. We can perform all the operations even we can delete that snapshot also. I searched about it I found these threads https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=659762 and https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=674682 Solution from this thread is after getting the error but I have to avoid this type of error. I have a question, Is there any better way removing LVM snapshots? So that we can avoid this type of error. If anyone needs more info feel free to ask me.

To be more specific. When I new application is started, it is added in my right navigation bar (or bottom menu for windows). Is there a way ti drag the "Chrome" icon for example, and to move it below to Firefox one? Now, if i try to drag a icon, the all icons move.

    I need to know how can I enable mouse click on a button when I have a MouseEvent listener for the stage. I have a MClip associated with the mouse cursor: Mouse.hide(); scope.startDrag(true); And an MouseEnvet on the stage: stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, FunctionXYZ); When I try to click on any button they don't assume the function that I create for those buttons... for example, button for fullscreen, exit, help, etc...   • Exempt programs from using active VPN connection

    When I connect to a VPN, all my network traffic is automatically routed through it. Is there a way to add exemptions to that? I don't know if adding exceptions has anything to do with the VPN protocol, but the VPN I'm using is of the OpenVPN protocol. Speaking of OpenVPN, why is it not installed by default on Ubuntu installs unlike PPTP? I could not get the list of IRCHighWay's servers, and this is the result I get trying to connect on XChat with running the bash script running: * Looking up irc.irchighway.net * Connecting to irc.irchighway.net (65.23.153.98) port 6667... * Connected.     Hi all, I want to offer the user the possibility to add the country/language for websites they would submit to a fairly simple website directory. I have a folder with flags from http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/flags/ . The flag images are named according to the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes, meaning that I could make a PHP script that would be able to retrieve images and the name of the country retrieved from the image name (not the full name, but it wouldn't be necessary). Just to make things clearer, I couldn't find a proper combo-box jQuery plugin for my needs (that would act exactly like the native but with an icon before the text) and don't really have the time to develop one on my own. Considering the number of images, I also wouldn't just display them all with a radio box near them. Also, having a classic drop-down list would be a nightmare for me as I would have to assign the short country name manually to each entry, or do it once for every country. Offering the user a dropdown list with the short country names but no flag near them would also be unfriendly and confusing. The idea is that every website featured in the directory would have the country flag icon near it. I have the images named properly but I don't know how to let the user choose the right image for their website. Any idees? Thank you all in advance!   • mod_rewrite works within directory not on root

    I am having problem in my RewriteRule for the tags portion. What I am able to debug is that the rule is been triggered at least because the page "tags.php" is been rendered but without the URL parameters. This .htaccess file with the rules is within root for my sub-domain and has following content for tags postion. # Rewrite rule for tags RewriteRule ^tags/(\w+)/(\d+)/?$ tags.php?tag_name=$1&tag_id=$2 RewriteRule ^tags/(\w+)/?$ tags.php?tag_name=$1 RewriteRule ^tags/?$ tags.php?tag_name= Another problem that I ain't able to debug is that the similar .htaccess file exists for a directory within my sub domain and is working as expected with the necessary URL parameters also been available.   • Compiz and Clearlooks window border breaks active/inactive title bars

    When I turn on Compiz with the Compiz tray switcher and I use Clearlooks, Dust Sand, or possibly any title bar style that normally has window icons on right, some window title bars will not change. Instead, they stay selected or unselected randomly. Some windows, like Ubuntu Software Center and CCSM are unaffected. This problem only happens with GTK window manager. I am using the Malteworld compiz ppa for Emerald. The problem does not happen with plain Metacity, or a title bar style that normally has close button on right. Edit: It still happens with Emerald. Reinstalled with upgrade option (yeah, 11.04 to 11.04) and still same problem. So maybe faulty package?
