My current situation: I have am image, lets called it "bg.png" with the width about 2500px, and at the center of the background image has my logo. My website should target all size (from small 800 x 600 to 2400 x XXX) users. My problems How do I centralize the background image(bg.png), so that the logo always positioned in the centered(horizontally) of different size of monitors screen?

    Please see the warning below taken from the StreamWriter class specification (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.io.streamwriter.aspx): "Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe." I understand that a W3WC process contains two thread pools i.e. worker threads and I/O threads. A worker thread could contain many threads of its own (if the application creates its own System.Thread instances). Does the warning only relate to System.Threads or does it relate to worker threads and I/O threads as well I.e. as the instance variables of the streamwriter class are not thread safe then does this mean that there would be problems if multiple worker threads access it eg if two users on two different web clients attempt to write to the log file at the same time, then could one lock out the other?

Validation All The Way Down Our goal will be to leave our DataTypeEntity class (from above) untouched, requiring no reference to System.Web.Mvc.  Then we will make an ASP.NET MVC project that allows us to create a new DataTypeEntity and hookup automatic client-side date validation using the suggested “out-of-the-box” jquery.validate bits that are included with ASP.NET MVC 3.  For simplicity I’m going to focus on the only DateTime field, but the concept is generally the same for any other DataType. Building a DataTypeAttribute Adapter To start we will need to build a new validation adapter that we can register using ASP.NET MVC’s DataAnnotationsModelValidatorProvider.RegisterAdapter() method.  This method takes two Type parameters; The first is the attribute we are looking to validate with and the second is an adapter that should subclass System.Web.Mvc.ModelValidator. Since we are extending DataAnnotations we can use the subclass of ModelValidator called DataAnnotationsModelValidator<>.  This takes a generic argument of type DataAnnotations.ValidationAttribute, which lucky for us means the DataTypeAttribute will fit in nicely. Conclusion I really like how easy it is to register new data annotations model validators, whether they are your own or, as in this post, supplements to existing validation attributes.  I’m still debating about whether adding the validation directly in the DataType attribute is the correct place to put it versus creating a dedicated “Date” validation attribute, but it’s nice to know either option is available and, as we’ve seen, simple to implement.   • Windows 7 Starter Screensaver Program Original Files

    Dear Sir or Madam I used the program by Sopan and Javier to change the wallpaper in Windows 7 Starter Edition on my laptop and it worked fine. I have now upgraded to Home Edition but there seems to be remnants of the program still lurking somewhere as when I set photos up for the screensaver they are always stretched no matter what I set the picture position as, ie fill,fit,stretched, tiled or centred. Can Sopan or Javier or anyone else supply original copies please of the files the program modified so that I can over-write the modified files back to the original ones? I know I can re-install the full windows 7 software but I want to save the agony of that along with the re-installation of all my programs and drivers! Many thanks for your help. Mark

  • Eclipse making background video skip with almost every click of the mouse

    The problem is i like to listen to videos online (mostly or all flash video) while programming and never had any problems until i started using eclipse, now every time i do just about anything other than type, it makes the video skip/freeze really bad and is really annoying. I have never had this happen using visual studio, netbeans, or adobe flash for that matter, unless i was compiling or doing something that hogs the processor. Are there any settings that might could fix this its getting really annoying. it happens almost every time i even click "find" on the find pop-up window and it is not like it is having to search a big file or anything it is only 700 lines, with honestly only about 1/2 that have content on them. Any ideas?

    Hi, Let's say I have a chat window open in a web browser, and I'm waiting for a message from my partner, trying to do something else in the meantime. The chat window (not an installed program) will not alert me of an incoming message, nor will the task bar flash or anything. Is there any utility that can help me? In search of a solution, I came across AutoHotKey. There is a script called livewindows.ahk, which will show a piece of the window anywhere on the screen, but it won't alert me on a change. I'm not skilled enough to know how to store and compare e.g. every second's content of some window area. Maybe someone has invented this wheel? Thanks in advance for any hint or advice. Leonardo

    We have a new computer build that is locked down via GPO. We have locked it down as tight as we can, but now new IE windows that are opened with shortcuts open behind the active window. I can post the whole list of restrictions if it is necessary, but there are a lot of restrictions. The machine has a domain account that automatically logs in, that account is the actual AD object that we have locked down. What restrictions could cause the new windows to not have focus? I apologize for a question like this, but I had 1 day to build this, and now 2 days to iron out bugs our clinical analysts find.
