  • Transparency issue with background image to GtkEventBox.

    I am setting GtkEventBox with an Transparent image from gtkrc file using pixmpa engine. but issue is that in transparent are of the png image gtk is filling default window back ground color. I wan to tell gtk to fill it's parents base/bg/fg color in transparent are of the background image other than default background color. how to do it using gtkrc file or coding? Thanks, PP.

  • Run Javascript on the body of a Gmail message

    I want to display LaTeX math in the gmail messages that I receive, so that for example $\mathbb P^2$ would show as a nice formula. Now, there are several Javascripts available (for example, this one, or MathJax which would do the job, I just need to call them at the right time to manipulate the gmail message. I know that this is possible to do in "basic HTML" and "print" views. Is it possible to do in the standard Gmail view? I tried to insert a call to the javascript right before the "canvas_frame" iframe, but that did not work. My suspicion is that manipulating a Gmail message by any Javascript would be a major security flaw (think of all the malicious links one could insert) and that Google does everything to prevent this. And so the answer to my question is probably 'no'. Am I right in this? Of course, it would be very easy for Google to implement viewing of LaTeX and MathML math simply by using MathJax on their servers. I made the corresponding Gmail Lab request, but no answer, and no interest from Google apparently. So, again: is this possible to do without Google's cooperation, on the client side?

  • Key Window for background application

    Dear Cocoa Developers, I'm creating a backgrounded cocoa application. The only thing that it's missing is the ability to take text inputs! I'm making the application backgrounded by setting "Application is background only" in the Info.plist But no matter what I do I can't make any window the keyWindow. makeKeyWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront Both don't work... I know apps can do this, anyone have any idea how you can get background application to have a key window? Thanks, JPoz

  • Best way to display a background with a pattern in an iPhone/iPad app

    Here's an example of the type of background image I'm talking about... Clearly, there's a pattern in it. My question is, if this were an iPad app and the background image was twice the size, would there be any significant benefits to taking advantage of this pattern by tiling the image? Or would it really make no difference in terms of performance and just be easier to load the entire image into a UIImageView? Thanks in advance for all your wisdom!

    Hi I am using itextsharp to generate a pdf file.I am placing a backgound image on it and want that image on all the pages .But when the first page is completed the text move to next page automatically so the image is not appearing on the new page. Is there a way to identify the end of page so that we can add a new page and then set the image first so will appear in background and then can add the remaining text.     In chrome, safari, and opera setting the background image to an absolute reference such as: "/images/image.png" changes it to "http://sitepath/images/image.png". It does not do this in firefox. Is there any way to avoid this behavior, or is it written into the browser's javascript engine? Using jquery to set the background-image also does this problem. The problem is that I am posting the HTML to a php script that needs the urls in this specific format. I know that setting the image path relative fixes this, but I can't do that. The only other alternative would be to use a regexp. to convert the urls. Thanks.     I am working on a project that pulls data from JMS queue using PHP and Zend Framework. The HTTP client response is below. All I need is the XML string. I came up with /(.*)<\/RequestDetails/gs which tests ok on http://gskinner.com/RegExr/ but the preg_match call is returning an empty matches array.     I've done a lot of research on this but have come up empty handed. What I would like to do is invoke or create an event for the right arrow key (Key Code 39). I was planning on using an onclick event inside an tag to go to a function where this event could be 'fired'. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone needs context, I have a jQuery content slider that's functionality is very hard to alter and currently the functionality I need to emulate only occurs when a user hits the right arrow on their keyboard. What I would like to do is tie an onclick() event to a image that when clicked on fires the right keyboard event and the content will slide.   • Java SOAP - Need help on Body and ChildElement manipulation

    Hi guys I'm trying to write some code in java to learn more about coding with WSDL and SOAP. I've been able to build up a BodyElement for a given namespace. But when i come to adding the childElements I'm runnig intp problems. For example given :'<'to:checkAccount xmlns:to="http://foo" '<'to:id test' <'/to:id '<'to:password test '<'/to:password '<'to:checkAccount " I'm able to set the bodyElement(to:checkAccount), but when i try to add the childElements (to:id, to:password) , the childElement needs to have the "to" prefix otherwise it won't work. ie. sf = SOAPFactory.newInstance(); Name childName = sf.createName("id"); SOAPElement symbol = bodyElement.addChildElement(childName); this doesn't work since it doesn't have the "to" prefix to id and password. I cannot do Name childName = sf.createName("id","to",null); as it gives me an error saying wrong namespace... can someone tell me how i can add to:id and to:password to to:checkAccount ?
