• jquery-ui .draggable is not a function error

  I am getting the following error (using Firefox 3.5.9): $("#dragMe_" + myCount).draggable is not a function $("#dragMe_"+myCount).draggable({ containment: 'parent', axis: 'y' }); Line 231 http://www.liamharding.com/pgi/pgi.php Link to page in question : http://www.liamharding.com/pgi/pgi.php For example, click the 2 checkbox's 'R25 + R50 Random Walk' then click Show/Refresh Graphs. Two graphs should be displayed, both with draggable thin horizontal red lines. Re-open the options panel and de-select R50 Random Walk, now click Show/Refresh Graphs again, 1 graph is removed and the other updated; now re-select R50 Random Walk and click Show/Refresh, you will find the still checked R25 graph gets updated ok the above error occurs and i cant figure out why. Initially, when displaying the first 2 graphs it uses the same code and it works just fine.   A friend has pointed me to his old website and says "the submit form just stopped working a while ago. I'm sure it's something simple." The form asks a child for a certain word from a book, and based on the answer, it should redirect the child to a success page or a failure page. It's using Javascript 1.2, circa 2001. • JQuery Checkbox with Textbox Validation

  I am using Jorn's validation plugin. I have a a group of checkboxes beside a group of textboxes. The textboxes are disabled by default and will enable when the matching checkbox is checked. At least 1 checkbox has to be checked which is not a problem. However, when I check more than 2 checkboxes only 1 textbox validates. • Port forwarding on Fortigate 50B

  I have serious problems setting up port forwarding on a Fortigate 50B. The unit is basically running as factory default, the wan1 interface is connected to my fibre optic internet modem, and my lan is connected to the internal switch of the Fortigate. The factory default firewall policy allowing traffic from the internal interface to wan1 is kept and I'm able to access the interet as normal. Then I added a virtual ip and a firewall policy for allowing access from the internet to my local servers (ip 192.168.9.51) webserver (standard port 80). The settings I made are as follows. Edit Virtual IP Mapping Name : Server VIP External interface : wan1 Type : Static NAT Extermal IP Address/Range : 0.0.0.0 Mapped IP Address/Range : 192.168.9.51 Port Forwading : not checked Firewall policy Source interface/Zone : wan1 Source address : all Destination interface/Zone : internal Destination address : Server VIP Schedule : always Service : HTTP Action : ACCEPT no other settings checked What happens now is that I'm unable to access internet from my server, I'm not getting through to the webserver from internet either. I'm able to ping a site on the outside, but all web traffic is blocked, both ways. I've checked the documentation, but as far as I can tell I have set this up correctly. Anyone here with knowledge of Fortigate port forwading/NAT?

It allows every user access to every other user's home directory, as well as access to all subfolders below the copssh installation path. I'm only using this for SFTP access and I need my users to be sandboxed into only their home directory. If you know a fool-proof way to lock users down so they can see only their home directory and its subfolders, stop reading now and reply with the solution. The details: Here is exactly what i tried as I followed the FAQ. My copSSH installation directory is: C:\Program Files\CopSSH net localgroup sftp_users /ADD **Create a user group to hold all my SFTP users cacls c:\ /c /e /t /d sftp_users **For that group, deny access at the top level and all levels below cacls "C:\Program Files\CopSSH" /c /e /t /r sftp_users **Allow my user group access to the copSSH installation directory and its subdirectories For each sftp user, I create a new windows user account, then I: net localgroup sftp_users sftp_user_1 /add **Add my user to the group I've created Open the activate user wizard for CopSSH, choosing the user, "/bin/sftponly" and Remove copssh home directory if it exists **Remains checked Create keys for public key authentication **Remains checked Create link to user's real home directory **Remains checked This works, however, every user has access to every other user's home directory as well as the CopSSH root directory.... So I tried denying access for all users to the user home directory: cacls "C:\Program Files\CopSSH\home" /c /e /t /d sftp_users **Deny access for users to the user home directory Then I tried adding permissions on a user-by-user basis for each users home\username folder. • cygwin sshd times out for remote login

  I have configured SSHD using Cygwin on Windows 7. I have checked and double-checked all of the following points: Port forwarding is correctly configured Windows Firewall is configured to pass port 22 Local login attempts (using Cygwin SSH) succeed sshd_config has UseDNS No Using nmap from remote machine confirms port 22 is accessible /etc/passwd and /etc/group are correctly populated However, remote login attempts time out. This includes from the local network. user@host:~$ ssh -vvv [email protected] OpenSSH_5.5p1 Debian-4ubuntu6, OpenSSL 0.9.8o 01 Jun 2010 debug1: Reading configuration data /home/user/.ssh/config debug1: Applying options for * debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to the.ip.add.ress [the.ip.add.ress] port 22. debug1: connect to address the.ip.add.ress port 22: Connection timed out ssh: connect to the.ip.add.ress port 22: Connection timed out No messages are logged to /var/log/sshd.log. I suspect that there is a permissions issue with a particular file somewhere, however I have checked the permissions of all my Cygwin binaries, DLLs and the particular files important to Cygwin sshd, including all of: /etc/passwd /etc/group /var /var/log/sshd.log /var/empty Others who have reported this or similar errors appear to have missed one of the points enumerated above. Can anyone point me to a possible solution?

• Exchange 2010 Mail Enabled Public Folder Unable to Recieve External (anon) e-mail.

  Hello All, I am having issues with my "Public Folders" mail enabled folders receiving e-mails from external senders. The folder is setup with three Accepted Domains (names changed for privacy reasons): 1 - domain1.com (primary & Authoritative) 2 - domain2.com (Authoritative) 3 - domain3.com (Authoritative) When someone attempts to send an e-mail to [email protected] from inside the organization, the e-mail is received and placed in the appropriate folder. However, when someone tries to send an e-mail from outside the organization (such as a gmail account), the following error message is received: "Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 Recipient address rejected: User unknown (state 14)." When I try to send an e-mail to the same folder, using the same e-mail address above ([email protected]), but with domain2.com instead of domain3.com, it works as intended (both internal & external). I have checked, double checked, and triple checked my DNS settings comparing those from domain2 & domain3 with them both appearing identical. I have tried recreating the folders in question with the same results. I have also ran Get-PublicFolderClientPermission "\Web Programs\folder" with the following results for user anonymous: RunspaceId : 5ff99653-a8c3-4619-8eeb-abc723dc908b Identity : \Web Programs\folder User : Anonymous AccessRights : {CreateItems} Domain2.com & Domain3.com are duplicates of each other, but only domain2.com works as intended. All other exchange functions are functioning properly. If anyone out there has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. I've just hit a brick wall. Thanks for all your help in advance! --Alex

• PC powers off at random times

  Short Version After experiencing some problems with Mobo batteries my PC started to power off at random times, the power off is instant and sudden and does not restart afterwards, need help figuring out the cause. Facts: Powers off when PC is playing games Powers off when PC is idle Powers off when PC is in safe mode Powers off when PC is in BIOS Powers off when PC is booted through a Windows installation USB Replaced the motherboard battery several times Replaced the 650W PSU with a 750W PSU Replaced the RAM Swapped the RAM between slots Re-applied thermal paste to the CPU Checked if the motherboard touches the case Nothing is overclocked PC Specs PC specs: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 RAM: klingston 1333MHz 4GB stick CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Mobo: Gigabyte 88GMA-UD2H rev 2.2 Motherboard battery: CR2032 3v HDD: 500GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device Graphics: ATI/AMD Radeon HD 6870 Very Long version Around 10 months ago I built a brand new gaming PC. Around 6 months ago it's time setting in windows started resetting to the year 2010. I swapped the Motherboard battery for a new one of the exact same size and shape and voltage, and the problems disappeared...for around 2 weeks. Then the same problem happened again, time gets reset, I swapped the battery again, and the problem was gone for good and everything was great for about 3 months.. then another problem started happening, the PC started to power off suddenly and without warning at completely random times, sometimes the PC works for and hour, sometimes 5 minutes. So I read on the forums that it might be either the PSU or the motherboard Battery or RAM or HDD or the Graphics card or the CPU or the motherboard or the drivers or a Virus or Grounding issues, or something short circuiting, basically it can be anything... I spent some days researching, and decided to remove the possibility of a virus. I reset the CMOS, cleared all BIOS settings and reinstalled windows 7 after a full format of the HDD, but the random power off kept happening. I then disabled the restart on error option in windows and looked at the event log for error events, but they did not help me figure out the problem. Network list service depends on network location awareness the dependency group failed to start Source Kernel Power Event 41 Task Category 63 Source Disk Event ID 11 Task Category None The driver detected a controller error on device disk I took apart the PC, every little piece, re-applied some expensive thermal paste to the CPU, and double checked that none of the pieces are touching the PC case. The problem was gone, the PC no longer powered off randomly I re-attached the graphics card and all was good for 4 months... then the power off problem appeared again, but was happening at high intervals, the PC would shutdown once in 2 days on average, at random points in time, sometimes when it's idle all day long, sometimes when it's running CRYSIS 2. I checked the CPU temperature, because I know that AMD CPU's have a built in protection mechanism that switches off the PC if the CPU gets too hot, and the Temp was 50C system temp, and 45C CPU after running the PC all day long (I did not do tests to see if there are any temperature spikes, don't know how to do them) Originally the PSU that powered the PC was 650Watts and had one 4 pin cable to power the CPU, I replaced it with a new 750Watts PSU which has two 4 pin cables for the CPU, but the problem remained. I removed the graphics card and let the motherboard use the built in one, but the PC kept suddenly powering off at random times. I took apart the PC completely again, and re-applied thermal paste to the CPU, added lots of insulation, and checked for any type of short-circuit possibility again and again, but the problem remained. The problem was like that for some months. I replaced the Battery a couple of times over the time, changed lots of options in windows, and tried everything I could, but it kept powering off, so I stopped using the PC as much as I used to, just living with the random power offs from time to time, until a couple of days ago, when the power off happens almost immediately after powering on the PC. I replaced the RAM with a brand new one, but that did not help. Took apart the PC again, checked for anything anywhere that might cause it, found some small scratches on the very edge of the motherboard to the left of the PCI express x16 slot. This might cause the problem, I thought, but the scratch looks very superficial, not deep at all, and if the scratch did harm the motherboard, wouldn't it cause it to not start at all? And why did it start to power off a while ago, and then suddenly stop powering off? The scratches could not have vanished??? did chkdsk \d but it powered off when it was at 75% I removed the hard disks, the graphics card, while I fiddled with the BIOS settings, and suddenly the PC shut down while I was looking at the BIOS version. This makes me realize, it is not caused by: HDD, Windows, Drivers or the Graphics card I cleared the CMOS again, updated the BIOS from F5 to F6f beta, but that did not help, it might even seem that the PC powers off even sooner. The shutdown even happened to me while I booted through a windows 7 installation USB and was in the repair console. I removed one of the cables powering the CPU, now only one 4pin cable powers it, and it worked for 30mins after doing that, which makes me think that it's the CPU overheating, and because it gets less power, it overheats slower? The things that I am still considering: CPU overheating (does not seem to overheat, maybe false readings?) Motherboard short circuiting (faulty motherboard?) I desperately need some advice in what is faulty, is it a faulty Motherboard or an overheating CPU? or maybe something else? I have been breaking my head over this problem over a span of 6 months. I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask this question, if it is not, then tell me where I can get some experienced help. More info I have also discovered a mysterious piece that seems to have fallen out of the motherboard i119.photobucket.com/albums/o126/yurikolovsky/strangepiece.jpg What is it? Q. With one PC I had a short curcuit. The power button on the front plate had its cables soldered, but not isolated, and the contacts were very close to the metal case. A heavier touch was enough to cause a shutdown. The PC's vibration could be enough – ott-- A. yes, it seems to switch off with even the lightest touch, I switched on the PC, then pulled out the front panel power cable that connects to the motherboard so the power button does not work anymore, after 5 mins of working like that, with the power button completely disconnected, just sitting idle, the PC powered off again, I don't think it's the power button. Q. I wonder if you dare to operate components without the case, that is remove motherboard, power, disk ( just put the motherboard on a wooden desk). • ubuntu 9.10 installer doesn't recognize the hard drive

  I downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64 and am trying to install it on a fairly modern system with a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 motherboard. Ubuntu 9.04 installed fine and still will when I stick that disc in, but 9.10 doesn't see my hard drive (western digital 250GB). If I boot from the disc, I can install gparted and it does recognize the drive, but when I try to start the install process from the live disc, Ubuntu again doesn't recognize the hard drive. • PC can't detect second RAM installed

  I have PC with 512 MB RAM installed (motherboard manufacture MICRO STAR, chipset P4M800), pc was running very slow so I decided to upgrade the ram. I installed CPU-Z and check the ram installed on the machine, also had a look at the stick installed. 512 MB PC 3200 400 MHz DDR but my mother supports 200 MHz and it was working ok. So I bought 2GB which I checked on manual that it support upto 2 GB Ram. So I installed 2GB PC 3200 400 MHz same as the old one, I plugged in both eventhough motherboard only support upto 2 GB but system spec only shows 512 (deducts 64 MB shared vga memory) I checked on CPU-Z, it detects both, slot 1 512 MB, slot 2 2048 MB, comparing screen for both slots, both the same, volt 2.5, frequency 166 MHz and 200MHz, only difference on those is 2gb ram shows under timings table 133MHz 166 MHz and 200MHz but 512 MB shows only 166MHz and 200MHz. I checked on Google and can't seems to figure out whats wrong with it. If I only plug in 2GB. Pc doesn't boot up like ram not working.With only 512 MB plugged in seems ok. Please help.

• Troubleshooting wireless client-bridged networks between two DD-WRT routers?

  I recently purchased a Buffalo N600 wireless router which came with DD-WRT pre-installed. I want to take my old wireless router a Linksys WRT54GL, also with DD-WRT pre-installed, and use it as a wireless bridge for my HTPC and Blu-Ray Player in the other room. I other words, I'm trying to connect to WIRED networks via the wireless on the routers. I followed eactly the instruction from DD-WRT's manual for 'Client Bridged' however I'm still not able to connect to two routers correctly, when the encryption is enabled (WPA2-Personal Mixed) however I am able to connect the two routers when there is NO encryption. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked that EVERYTHING is the same on BOTH routers: Routers 1 & 2 Encryption: WPA2-Personal Mixed Wireless Mode: G-Only Wireless Channel: 6 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Subnet: 192.168.1.0/254 SSID: Krono$ Primary Router #1 (Buffalo N600) IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Firewall: Enables w/ defaults DCHP: Enabled as DHCP Server Secondary Router #2 (Linksys WRT54GL) IP Address: 192.168.1.2 Firewall: Disabled as per DD-WRT instructions I'm looking for any configurations that I may have missed, or settings that may need to happen in order for this work.

• Why won't my computer go to sleep automatically?

  Windows 8 is set to sleep after 30 mins, and it used to work, but recently it's started refusing to sleep. (I can still manually ask it to go to sleep without any issue.) I was having issues a while ago, but it was with my network adapter. That's since been disabled, so it's definitely not that: I've checked to see what devices are able to wake up my machine, but it only appears to be my mouse: Which is odd, because I haven't recently changed my mouse, and more confusing still: The monitor does go to sleep just fine. If it was actually the mouse keeping my system awake, I'm pretty sure the monitor wouldn't go to sleep. I've checked my Wake Timers, and nothing: I've also checked my existing requests... UPDATE: I found something. What to do with it, I don't know... Note: Even when /requests says that there's "NONE" under every category, my machine still won't sleep(!). In short: How can I tell what's preventing my computer from Sleeping? UPDATE: Ok, so I now have a few more pieces of the puzzle. I came back to my computer and it was ASLEEP! Lawks! It seems that the only times it doesn't sleep is if VLC Player is open, even if a video isn't actually playing. UPDATE UPDATE: Ok, so it won't sleep sometimes when VLC Player ISN'T running, either. Bah!

• Torrent upload ratio not updated on Synology DS212+

  I have a Synology DS212+ NAS running DSM 4.2-3211 (current version). I use it for several purposes including torrent download using Download Station and a tracker that needs authentication. My problem is that my download/upload ratio isn't updated, so it constantly falls down. My NAS is behind a router, and I configured the NAT to forward ports 6890 to 6999 to the internal IP address of the NAS. Here are the Download Station settings : TCP port : 6990, Sharing ratio : 900%, Sharing time : infinite, max download speed : 0 (no limit), max upload speed : 0 (no limit), BT protocol encryption : checked, max numbers of peers allowed by torrent file : 4000, DHT : checked, with port 6889. When the DHT option is not checked, the NAS doesn't upload any files. I don't know what is this option for. Can someone help me to solve this problem ? Did I miss any step, or does it come from the NAT ? How is the authentication managed by Dowload Station ? (Sorry for my english) Thanks.

• Get the Windows Scheduler's Location Or Code?

  Today i got a task to find the scheduler that is running once in a month, actually I have to change its running time period to once a week. I have searched for it in the Windows scheduled tasks, but i didn't find it. It is sending a mail containing a link. Now i am not confused about this where else can i find it. As the place i know where the scheduler can be, has already been checked by me. Can someone suggest me where else can i search for this scheduler? As per the previous developer's comment "It is a normal Windows method of scheduling tasks" UPDATE Actually the task is running after a month periodically. As per my knowledge it could be a "Windows Task Schedule" or "Windows Service" created by the old developer. Now as the previous developer is not available and i do not have any documentation.. i need to change the time period from month to weakly. I have checked in the "Task Schedules" on the server and checked the services running ob the server and was unable to find the "Scheduler". now i have two questions: is there any other approach by using that i can schedule an automated email periodically. any idea to find this.

  Sometimes I get the error from MYSQL server: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 0 I cannot find the cause, since most of the time it works, but every week for some hours I get this error. I googled, but there seem to be only users which have this error permanently. But in this case, it only occurs sometimes. I checked hosts.allow and hosts.deny, but the host is allowed and not denied. Also sometimes I get the error: File './database/table.MYD' not found (Errcode: 24) It occurs very rarely. But it occurs for some hours once a week, sometimes on multiple days, but suddenly the problem disappears again. I have checked the open files limit. It's 2048 and should be absolutely enough. I also tried to increase the number of open files nevertheless, but no effect. I thought, perhaps the process does not close some tables. But this is impossible, because after a while everythings o.k. again and the process opens maximum 100 tables at once. I also checked the MySQL-runtime-environment, and there were 930 opened files. I cannot explain that. After a while it's 129. I am running a MySQL-Server on a SUSE-Linux machine. I connect to the MySQL-Server from another host by the command line tool "mysql" and by MySQL-C-connector. The MySQL-Server is version 5.0.67.

• Laptop CPU fan not working properly

  My laptop's CPU fan is suddenly acting very bizarre, and I am at a loss for what to do so I am asking for some help. Specifically, the fan is not even starting to spin until the CPU reaches 60 degrees Celsius (checked through HWmonitor). Once it is on, however, it properly stays on even when the CPU gets back to idle temps around 38 Celsius. Before, the fan was simply starting with the computer and staying on like normal. I've checked this for consistency both by allowing cold boots to ramp up temperature to 60 Celsius (the slow climb also causing the laptop to become unreasonably warm near the heatsink), and also running Prime95 immediately to kickstart the fan (this works every time). The fan seems to be stationary when turning the computer on from either sleep or shutdown. The fan will start at POST very briefly, and then stop completely. I've checked the BIOS for a SmartFan setting but haven't found any. I've opened the case to check for dust or debris and have not found anything (I applied some canned air to the area just in case). The laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E430 and the CPU is an Intel Core i5 3210m @ 2.5 GHz. Any advice would really be appreciated.

• Windows 7, enabeling IE for removal

  For a while now, Windows Update has been prompting me to update IE9 to IE10. And every time I turn off my PC, It starts to install that one update wich allways fails. Why does it fail updating IE9? I don't know. So the solution I had in my mind was to remove IE9 and then install IE10 manually. THe problem is now, I can't find the uninstall file for IE9. I have looked in windows control panel / programs and features but it didn't show up, not even in the installed updates section. So after I clicked on Turn windows features on or off, I saw that the IE9 box wasn't checked. So I checked it, clicked OK, but then when I clicked on the Turn windows features on or off link again, it wasn't checked anymore. It's almost like Windows doesn't want me to uninstall IE9. but I have to in order to normally shut down my pc, because everytime I shut my PC off, it tries to install that stupid update again! What can I do to solve this?

• How to find the reason for a weekly downtime on an Ubuntu web server hosted by AWS?

  We started monitoring our web server using Pingdom and found out that we have a downtime of a few minutes every Sunday at 0:00 UTC. The test runs every minute and checks if a successful HTTP response (code 200) is returned on port 80. The test fails due to a timeout (no response after 30 seconds). Here's what we've already checked – without success: Since we run our webserver behind a load balancer, I've set the Pingdom test on the load balancer's public DNS and the webserver's public DNS in order to find out if there's a problem with the AWS load balancer – both tests return the same result We set up Munin on our webserver. Everything looked fine even after the failure. Since the last failure lasted only 2 minutes I suppose Munin couldn't capture a potential problem (it only checks every 5 minutes) I have checked /var/log/apache2/error.log and /var/log/syslog for suspicious entries I have checked /etc/cron.weekly and /etc/crontab for suspicious entries I have searched for files created or last-modified during 0:00 and 0:15 using this method: touch -t 201209020000 start touch -t 201209020015 end find / -newer start -and ! -newer end (nothing found) Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Any proposals on how to find the reason for this behavior? It's Ubuntu 10.04 LTS running on an AWS m1.large instance. Thanks!
