• Change "From" email address when sending to a specific domain.

  Hi, I would like to set up Exchange so that when a user (e.g. [email protected]) sends an email to somedomain.com Exchange makes the email appear to have come from [email protected]. This would have to be done on a per-domain basis, and invisibly to the user. So all emails come from [email protected], except emails to somedomain.com, which appear to come from [email protected]. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it. Cheers, RB.

• Configuring WCF to Handle a Signature on a SOAP Message from an Oracle Server

  I'm trying to use WCF to consume a web service provided by a third-party's Oracle Application Server. I pass a username and password and as part of the response the web service returns a standard security tag in the header which includes a digest and signature. With my current setup, I successfully send a request to the server and the web service sends the expected response data back. However, when parsing the response WCF throws a MessageSecurityException, with an InnerException.Message of "Supporting token signatures not expected." My guess is that WCF wants me to configure it to handle the signature and verify it. I have a certificate from the third party that hosts the web service that I should be able to use to verify the signature. I saw people use the ";" to separate parameters in other posts for the String and File class, but nothing with primitives like integer. What would be the correct way to do this please? Thank you.

• Sending same email through two different accounts on different domains using Outlook 2010

  I am a programmer and don't have experience in Outlook configurations. Our company has two email domains namely xyz.com and xyz.biz. Each employee has an email id on one of these domains but not both depending on the project they are working on. The problem we are facing is that when a communication email is sent from the Accounts, HR, Admin, etc departments, they need to send the email twice. Once through the xyz.com account to all employees with an email address on xyz.com and once through xyz.biz to all employees with an email address on xyz.biz. I am not sure why they have to send two separate emails but the IT team has directed all departments to do so as there is no other solution according to them. Even though two different groups have been created, sending an email to employees in a group of xyz.biz from xyz.com does not seem to work. I want to know if Outlook provides a feature such that we can configure some kind of rules to send an email through an id on xyz.com to all users on xyz.com and the same email gets sent automatically to users on xyz.biz through an id on xyz.biz. The only technical details I know is that we are using Exchange 2003 and the IT team claims that this is a limitation causing the problem. Edit: Our company is split into two main divisions depending on the type of projects. I am pretty sure I use domain XYZ wheras the employees in the other division use the doman ABC to log in into the windows machine or outlook itself. Also, employees in domain XYZ can access the machines on the network in domain ABC but not the other way around

• Is there a free PDF printer / distiller that creates signable documents?

  I've used various methods (mentioned elsewhere on this site) to create PDFs, using a printer driver or converting from PostScript, etc. The common problem is that if I open any of the output files in the newer versions of Adobe Reader, there's an option to "Place Signature" but it's greyed out, or gives an error message that the feature has been disabled for this document. As far as I can tell, there's an option set somewhere in the document metadata that tells Reader "allow the user to sign this document", or don't. None of the free/open source tools that have been been linked to in other SU posts have had this listed as an option (though to be fair I haven't actually downloaded and tried all of them). Is there a tool that does this? Can I just poke a bit with a hex editor somewhere to turn on this functionality? I can sometimes get access to Acrobat Professional to turn on this option, but doing it for every desired case would be more work than I care to do. The current workaround for single-page documents is: Print the document to PDF (possibly via postscript) Open a single-page blank PDF with the "signable" bit turned on in Reader create a custom "stamp" using the Reader markup tools, by importing the printed-to document "stamp" an image of the printed document on the blank page, hoping to get it centered about right place a signature over the document-but-not-really you just stamped This obviously does not scale well at all. It would be much better if I could: Print the document to PDF Drag the document to a simple shortcut / tool / whatever Open the document in Reader Place a signature in the document ETA: Sorry, maybe I should have been clearer -- I'm talking about the certificate-based digital signing available in Adobe Reader, not adding a virtual ink signature. • How to change mime type of email notifications sent by PeopleSoft?

  I work near some PeopleSoft guys and they asked how to change a link in an email notification sent by PeopleSoft so that it is friendly, basically they just wanted the use of an HTML anchor. After sitting down with them and looking through the code I found that the default mime type for all email notifications is text/plain and there does not seem to be any kind of an email API that is called which would allow setting the mime type of the body to text/html. Furthermore, there seems to be no general email configuration in PeopleSoft to, for example, set the default mime type for all emails. Do you know how to change the mime type of an email in PeopleSoft?

• Including email, IMs, configs, etc. in documentation or notes

  The shop I work in is pretty laid-back. We're on a documentation kick, only because historically we've been very bad with it. We do a lot of our brainstorming in face-to-face meetings, and also do a lot of communication via IM in addition to email. While I'm usually pretty good about documentation and keeping copious lab notes, I just finished a build of a host and spent hours searching through IMs, emails, files on my workstation, etc. to pull out anything I missed in my lab notes, which formed a large amount of the basis for the internal documentation. Does anyone have any thoughts on, aside from manually saving things to a project directory, managing various data sources (especially email and IM) and tracking them on project basis? Ideally, I'd like an easy way to put copies of emails, IM logs, etc. into a project-specific directory on my workstation and then just have a cron job that syncs that up with a shared folder. This isn't really a candidate for anything more advanced, as the bulk of the data will be copies of configs, code, etc. Here are the big restrictions: Email is via a centralized Zimbra install, so nothing can happen server-side. My workstation is Linux. Aside from writing Pidgin and Thunderbird plugins that let me tag chats and emails as belonging to a project, and then copy them to the appropriate place... any thoughts?   This morning we couldn't receive email from outside our company's domain (domain.com.au), but we can send email to outside (e.g hotmail, gmail, yahoo). When I tried to send email to my work email address using my gmail account, I received this message Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unable to relay for [email protected] (state 14). I tried using telnet to send email, and it works. But still I couldn't figure out why I can't receive email from outside. I'm not sure if I provided enough info. I'll try to provide as much info as needed to help me solve the problem. Thanks

  Whats the best way to implement mass email sending feature within web app? Two major cases: Email messages for separate registered users depending on their activities (just sending short reminders to user for ex about new posts in his created topic) "Send email for all registered users" functionality, it will be nice to have feature for system administrator to send some messages for all registered users. Of course adding all emails to recipient isn't the way we can go, because email addresses for each user are anonimous. • .NETCF Component that allows entering a signature

  I need a component that will allow me to enter a signature on a Windows Mobile 5 device. I need to integrate it into my .NETCF program. I would prefer it be free (getting budget approval takes so long). (I have seen the "for pay" one by Resco.) I would need to end up storing the signature in a SQL Server database (it has to be able to serialize). If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

• Grub2 fails to chainload Windows 7 with error "invalid signature"

  I've built a new UEFI 64-bit system with both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10 installed (on separate hard drives). I'd like to be able to boot Windows 7 from the grub menu, but I have so far been unsuccessful in getting grub to chainload it. After getting the grub menu, I choose the option for the command line and I can see that bootmgfw.efi is at (hd1,gpt1)/efi/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi. However, when I attempt to chainload I get an error: grub> chainloader (hd1,gpt1)/efi/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi error: invalid signature I am not sure whether I chose the UEFI boot option when I installed Linux from the LiveCD, and so I am wondering if the grub I have is perhaps unable to chainload in this manner? In any case I am not sure how to get the chainload to work.

• How to fix error 1330 (invalid digital signature) when installing "The Rosetta Stone"

  I bought an older version of this software from a friend and the Rosetta Stone support hasn't been of much use. When installing, at the end of the process I get an error from the installer that says something along the lines of: Error 1330. A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file [file.cab] has an invalid digital signature. This isn't the first time I've had such an error, some time ago I was unable to install a game I bought because of the same thing. I extracted the cab file itself just to see what it was and it's just an archive of icons and things like that, so it's not even like I'm missing out on much :/ Any advice/tips on how to work around this error would be appreciated e.g. if it's possible to make the installer ignore digital signatures. Running Windows 7.

  In my project I need to make a spam tester to check the spam score of the mails prepared to be sent. When I searched, I found Spam Assassin, which they say is used as sapm filters in many mail servers. Can I create a spam tester using Spam Assassin? Another option I found is one Litmus API, which is a paid service. Is there any options other than these two? Freeware is more preferred. My project is a J2EE web application using Spring.

Then i'd like it to automatically send email saying you have successfully subscribe. I'd want an unsubscribe link and i would be using smtp on google apps. I would like to send email with html so i can have a simple sentence with a complex link such as this I dont know if i'll get marked as spam if i try to send everyone an email at once? so i'd like the software to manage it. Also i'd like to get the emails in a simple format like csv. Is there a simple app that does this? if not i can write a simple form which does a simple insert (or delete when unsubscribing) and write a 200-300line app to send my emails out for me.

• What is wrong with this mail header text?

  The following $header is being sent via PHP's mail($to,$subject,$content,$header) command. The mail arrives and appears to have an attachment. But the mail text is empty as is the file. I think this has something to do with line spacing but I can't see the problem. I have tried putting the contents (between the boundaries) in $contents rather than appending it to $header. It doesn't make a difference. Any thoughts? • How should I safely send bulk mail? [closed]

  First of all, we have a large software system we've developed and have a number of clients using it in their own environment. Each of them is responsible for using their own equipment and resources, we don't provide any services to share with them. We have introduced an automated email system which sends emails automatically via SMTP. Usually, it only sends around 10-20 emails a day, but it's very possible to send bulk email up to thousands of people in a single day. This of course requires a big haul of work, which isn't necessarily the problem. The issue arises when it comes to the SMTP server we're using. An email server is issued a number of relays a day, which is paid for. This isn't really necessarily the issue either. The risk is getting the email server blacklisted. It's inevitable, and we need to carefully take all this into consideration. As far as I can see, the ideal setup would be to have at least 50 IP addresses on multiple servers, each of which hosts its own SMTP server. When sending bulk email, it will divide them up across these servers, and each one will process its own queue. If one of those IP's gets blacklisted, it will be decommissioned and a new IP will replace it. Is there a better way that doesn't require us to invest in a large handful of servers? Perhaps a third party service which is meant exactly for this?

  Is there a method of accessing an Exchange server that does not have IMAP or POP3 enabled without Outlook? It does not appear that Outlook Express supports Exchange (only IMAP and POP3).

  I have a hosted website using a free hosting service, I received an email this afternoon saying that I have been suspended because my account has been compromised. Basically, someone is using my email account to mass send spam. I've changed all the passwords and everything but when my Gmail pulls the emails from the host it's still downloading loads of spam messages that show like this: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. I'm not sure how anyone could have got hold of my password. It's a simple wordpress install, at some point recently my host went down and there was a fresh install of wordpress with default admin accounts, I have a feeling it could be something to do with this. My question is, even though I've changed all my passwords it's all still happening, is there annywhere in paticular this script would be stored on my host. I really can't deal with having my hosting account suspended and my email account sending all this spam.

• Best way to setup multiple sites' emails in my Gmail

  I've a dozen sites and I want all of their emails come to my one gmail id and I want to reply centrally from Gmail only. I've also added all of those emails in "send email as:" list in Gmail. I could add email forwarders in my Cpanel but in that case I'll not be able to send email whose inboxes haven't been created( for example [email protected]). If I create email account then I'd receive emails in my inbox as well as forwared by the forwarder( to my gmail id). Otherwise I can setup Gmail for my domain. But for a dozen emails I'm not sure if that'd be fine. I see in http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/pricing.html that for up to 10 emails it is free. But then to send email from webhosting the php code will need SMTP login details and leaving my important gmail account details in my webhosting account is very risky given my sites have been compromised twice. What is the best way to centralize all my emails so that I can read/reply/search from single place?
