  • Postback event not firing on FIRST button click..

    - by ClarkeyBoy
    Hi, I have a form which accepts two arguments. The first one is mode - this is either view, new or edit. If it is new then the second argument is type - this is either range, collection or design. When set to new, and the type is valid, a new instance of that type is created and the data from the form is added to it. The item (range, collection or design) then validates the data. If any of the data is invalid then it throws an error, and this error is displayed at the top of the form telling the user why it is invalid. A variable, _Databind, is set to false so that it does not change the data input by the user (in the form fields). The button used to submit the button is called btnSave, and is created in the html source. The click event is wired up in the form Protected Sub Blah(sender, e) Handles btnSave.Click. Strangely, whenever I edit an item that already exists the form submits fine the first time - the click event is fired. However when in "new" mode I have to click the button twice to fire the event. It also blanks all the form fields out on first click. I have even put a Response.Write("Hello World") line at the start of the click event - this is not being output on first click when adding a new item either. It is on first load when the mode is set to edit however. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing it to behave this way? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Richard

  • Listening and firing events with Javascript and maybe jQuery

    - by at
    In my Javascript and Flex applications, users often perform actions that I want other Javascript code on the page to listen for. For example, if someone adds a friend. I want my Javascript app to then call something like triggerEvent("addedFriend", name);. Then any other code that was listening for the "addedFriend" event will get called along with the name. Is there a built-in Javascript mechanism for handling events? I'm ok with using jQuery for this too and I know jQuery makes extensive use of events. But with jQuery, it seems that its event mechanism is all based around elements. As I understand, you have to tie a custom event to an element. I guess I can do that to a dummy element, but my need has nothing to do with DOM elements on a webpage. Should I just implement this event mechanism myself?

  • Silverlight Control Disable/Remove Events

    - by Dave
    I have a scenario where a control has an event wired up in XAML, say a Button.Click. Somewhere else in my code, a security check is applied which mean I need to disable said event, but I do not have access to the normal -= syntax to remove it. How else can I remove or disable this event? Thanks, Dave

  • C# trying to capture the KeyDown event on a form

    - by Patrick
    Hello! I am creating a small game, the game is printed onto a panel on a windows form. Now i want to capture the keydown event to see if its the arrow keys that has been pressed, the problem however is that i can't seem to capture it. Let me explain, on the form i have 4 buttons and various other controls and if the user for instance press one of the buttons (to trigger a game event) then the button has focus and i can't capture the movements with the arrow keys. I tried something like private void KeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Left) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.E); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Right) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.W); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Up) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.N); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } else if (e.KeyCode == Keys.Down) { game.MovePlayer(DonutWarsLibrary.GameObjects.Direction.S); game.DrawObjects(panel1.CreateGraphics()); } } and then when the form key down event was pressed, i used this private void MainForm_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { KeyDown(e); } I also added keydown for the buttons and the various other controls on the windows form, but i am not getting any response back. I have setup a breakpoint inside the function to see if it's being called, but that breakpoint never triggers? Any ideas? The most optimal was to have a general KeyDown event that triggers (regardless of what control that currently has focus) and then calls the KeyDown method.

  • Cannot capture TouchEvent.UP in Blackberry

    - by Nandu
    I am working on a Scrollable Image field.I am handling TouchEvent.DOWN mTouchEvent.MOVE,TouchEvent.UP. Somehow control never goes to TouchEvent.UP section.How to capture the UP event. I have to findout the start and end points of the drag. My Code looks like this.. if (event == TouchEvent.DOWN && touchEvent.isValid()) { _xTouch = touchEvent.getX(1); _yTouch = touchEvent.getY(1); } else if(event == TouchEvent.UP && touchEvent.isValid()) { int x = touchEvent.getX(1); int y = touchEvent.getY(1); } else if (event == TouchEvent.MOVE && touchEvent.isValid()) { boolean result = scrollImage((touchEvent.getX(1) - _xTouch), (touchEvent.getY(1) - _yTouch)); _xTouch = touchEvent.getX(1); _yTouch = touchEvent.getY(1); //If scrolling occurred, consume the touch event. if (result) { return true; } else { return false; } } Thanks in advance.

  • Unexpected Event Behavior When Using VB6 with COM Interop (C#)

    - by Randal
    We are using a COM Interop (C#) to allow for a VB6 application to send data to a server. Once the server receives the data, the managed code will raise a DataSent event. This event is only fired after a correlation ID is returned to the original caller. About 1% of the time, we've encountered VB6 executing the raised event before finishing the function that originally sent the data. Using the following code: ' InteropTester.COMEvents is the C# object ' Dim WithEvents m_ManagedData as InteropTester.COMEvents Private Sub send_data() Set m_ManagedData = new COMEvents Dim id as Integer ' send 5 to using the managed interop object ' id = m_ManagedData.SendData(5) LogData "ID " & id & " was returned" m_correlationIds.Add id End Sub Private Sub m_ManagedData_DataSent(ByVal sender as Variant, ByVal id as Integer) LogData "Data was successfully sent to C#" ' check if the returned ID is in the m_correlationIds collection goes here' End Sub We can verify that the id is returned with a value when we call m_ManagedData.SendData(5), but the logs then show that the m_ManagedData_DataSent is occasionally called before send_data ends. How is possible for VB6 to access the Message Loop to know that the DataSent event was raised before exiting send_data()? We are not calling DoEvents and everything within VB6 is synchronous. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Extjs4: editable rowbody

    - by peter
    in my first ExtJs4 project i use a editable grid with the feature rowbody to have a big textfield displayed under each row. I want it to be editable on a dblclick. I succeeded in doing so by replacing the innerHTML of the rowbody by a textarea but the special keys don't do what they are supposed to do (move the cursor). If a use the textarea in a normal field i don't have this probem. Same problem in IE7 and FF4 gridInfo = Ext.create('Ext.ux.LiveSearchGridPanel', { id: 'gridInfo', height: '100%', width: '100%', store: storeInfo, columnLines: true, selType: 'cellmodel', columns: [ {text: "Titel", flex: 1, dataIndex: 'titel', field:{xtype:'textfield'}}, {text: "Tags", id: "tags", flex: 1, dataIndex: 'tags', field:{xtype:'textfield'}}, {text: "Hits", dataIndex: 'hits'}, {text: "Last Updated", renderer: Ext.util.Format.dateRenderer('d/m/Y'), dataIndex: 'lastChange'} ], plugins: [ Ext.create('Ext.grid.plugin.CellEditing', { clicksToEdit: 1 }) ], features: [ { ftype: 'rowbody', getAdditionalData: function(data, idx, record, orig) { var headerCt = this.view.headerCt, colspan = headerCt.getColumnCount(); return { rowBody: data.desc, //the big textfieldvalue, can't use a textarea here 8< rowBodyCls: this.rowBodyCls, rowBodyColspan: colspan }; } }, {ftype: 'rowwrap'} ] }); me.on('rowbodydblclick', function(gridView, el, event, o) { ... rb = td.down('.x-grid-rowbody').dom; var value = rb.innerText?rb.innerText:rb.textContent; rb.innerHTML = ''; Ext.create('Ext.form.field.TextArea', { id: 'textarea1', value : value, renderTo: rb, border: false, enterIsSpecial: true, enableKeyEvents: true, disableKeyFilter: true, listeners: { 'blur': function(el, o) { rb.innerHTML = el.value; }, 'specialkey': function(field, e){ console.log(e.keyCode); //captured but nothing happens } } }).show(); damn, can't publish my own solution, looks like somebody else has to answer, anyway, here is the function that works function editDesc(me, gridView, el, event, o) { var width = Ext.fly(el).up('table').getWidth(); var rb = event.target; var value = rb.innerText?rb.innerText:rb.textContent; rb.innerHTML = '' var txt = Ext.create('Ext.form.field.TextArea', { value : value, renderTo: rb, border: false, width: width, height: 300, enterIsSpecial: true, disableKeyFilter: true, listeners: { 'blur': function(el, o) { var value = el.value.replace('\n','<br>') rb.innerHTML = value; }, 'specialkey': function(field, e){ e.stopPropagation(); } } }); var txtTextarea = Ext.fly(rb).down('textarea'); txtTextarea.dom.style.color = 'blue'; txtTextarea.dom.style.fontSize = '11px'; } Hi Molecule Man, as an alternative to the approach above i tried the Ext.Editor. It works but i want it inline but when i render it to the rowbody, the field blanks and i have no editor, any ideas ? gridInfo = Ext.create('Ext.grid.Panel', { id: 'gridInfo', height: '100%', width: '100%', store: storeInfo, columnLines: true, selType: 'cellmodel', viewConfig: {stripeRows: false, trackOver: true}, columns: [ {text: "Titel", flex: 1, dataIndex: 'titel', field:{xtype:'textfield'}}, ... {text: "Last Updated", renderer: Ext.util.Format.dateRenderer('d/m/Y'), dataIndex: 'lastChange'} ], plugins: [ Ext.create('Ext.grid.plugin.CellEditing', { clicksToEdit: 1 }) ], features: [ { ftype: 'rowbody', getAdditionalData: function(data, idx, record, orig) { var headerCt = this.view.headerCt, colspan = headerCt.getColumnCount(); return { rowBody: data.desc, rowBodyCls: this.rowBodyCls, rowBodyColspan: colspan }; } } ], listeners:{ rowbodyclick: function(gridView, el, event) { //werkt editDesc(this, gridView, el, event); } } }); function editDesc(me, gridView, el, event, o) { var rb = event.target; me.txt = new Ext.Editor({ field: {xtype: 'textarea'}, updateEl: true, cancelOnEsc: true, floating: true, renderTo: rb //when i do this, the field becomes empty and i don't get the editor }); me.txt.startEdit(el); }

  • JavaFX FXML communication between Application and Controller classes

    - by likethesky
    I am trying to get and destroy an external process I've created via ProcessBuilder in my FXML application close, but it's not working. This is based on the helpful advice Sergey Grinev gave me here. I have tried running with/without the "// myController.setApp(this);" and with "// super.stop();" at top of subclass and at bottom (see commented out/in for that line in MyApp), but no combination works. This probably isn't related to FXML or JavaFX, though I imagine this is a common pattern for developing apps on JavaFX. I suppose I'm asking for a Java best practice for closing dependent processes in a UI-based app like this one (in this case: FXML / JavaFX based), where there is a controller class and an application class. Can you explain what I'm doing wrong? Or better: advise what I should be doing instead? Thanks. In my Application I do this: public class MyApp extends Application { @Override public void start(Stage primaryStage) throws Exception { FXMLLoader fxmlLoader = new FXMLLoader(); Scene scene = (Scene)FXMLLoader.load(getClass().getResource("MyApp.fxml")); MyAppController myController = (MyAppController)fxmlLoader.getController(); primaryStage.setScene(scene); primaryStage.show(); // myController.setApp(this); } @Override public void stop() throws Exception { // super.stop(); // this is called on fx app close, you may call it in an action handler too if (MyAppController.getScriptProcess() != null) { MyAppController.getScriptProcess().destroy(); } super.stop(); } public static void main(String[] args) { launch(args); } } In my Controller I do this: public class MyAppController implements Initializable { private Application app; private static Process scriptProcess; public void setApp(Application a) { app = a; } public static Process getScriptProcess() { return scriptProcess; } } The result when I run with the "commented-out setApp()" not commented out (that is, left in the start method), is the following, immediately upon launch (the main Scene flashes, then disappears, then this dialog appears: "JavaFX Launcher Error: Exception while running Application" And it gives an, "Exception in Application start method" in the console as well. The result when I leave out the "commented-out code" in my MyApp above (that is, remove the "setApp()" from the start method), is that my app does indeed close, but gives this error when it closes: Exception in thread "JavaFX Application Thread" java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at javafx.fxml.FXMLLoader$ControllerMethodEventHandler.handle(FXMLLoader.java:1440) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventHandler.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventHandler.java:69) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:217) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:170) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventDispatcher.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventDispatcher.java:38) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:37) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEventImpl(EventUtil.java:53) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEvent(EventUtil.java:28) at javafx.event.Event.fireEvent(Event.java:171) at javafx.scene.Node.fireEvent(Node.java:6863) at javafx.scene.control.Button.fire(Button.java:179) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.behavior.ButtonBehavior.mouseReleased(ButtonBehavior.java:193) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SkinBase$4.handle(SkinBase.java:336) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SkinBase$4.handle(SkinBase.java:329) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventHandler.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventHandler.java:64) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:217) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:170) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventDispatcher.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventDispatcher.java:38) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:37) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEventImpl(EventUtil.java:53) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEvent(EventUtil.java:33) at javafx.event.Event.fireEvent(Event.java:171) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.process(Scene.java:3324) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.process(Scene.java:3164) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.access$1900(Scene.java:3119) at javafx.scene.Scene.impl_processMouseEvent(Scene.java:1559) at javafx.scene.Scene$ScenePeerListener.mouseEvent(Scene.java:2261) at com.sun.javafx.tk.quantum.GlassViewEventHandler.handleMouseEvent(GlassViewEventHandler.java:228) at com.sun.glass.ui.View.handleMouseEvent(View.java:528) at com.sun.glass.ui.View.notifyMouse(View.java:922) at com.sun.glass.ui.gtk.GtkApplication._runLoop(Native Method) at com.sun.glass.ui.gtk.GtkApplication$3$1.run(GtkApplication.java:82) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:722) Caused by: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:601) at javafx.fxml.FXMLLoader$ControllerMethodEventHandler.handle(FXMLLoader.java:1435) ... 44 more Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at mypackage.MyController.handleCancel(MyController.java:300) ... 49 more Clean up...

  • Trouble extending event log messages

    - by Matt H
    Hi. I'm trying to add some extended error codes to the event log but I get the following error. The description for Event ID ( 109 ) in Source ( PumpServer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: The event log file is corrupt.. The message file looks like this and I added the one on the end:- <---snip---> MessageId= SymbolicName=EVMSG_BADREQUEST Language=English The service received an unsupported request. . MessageId= SymbolicName=EVMSG_DEBUG Language=English %1 . MessageId= SymbolicName=EVMSG_STOPPED Language=English The service was stopped. . MessageId= SymbolicName=EVMSG_INVALIDLICENCE Language=English The service does not have a valid licence. Initialization failed. . It compiles fine. The mc program is running over this file and producing a header file of the same name with my new message id showing. // // MessageId: EVMSG_INVALIDLICENCE // // MessageText: // // The service does not have a valid licence. Initialization failed. // #define EVMSG_INVALIDLICENCE 0x0000006DL Any ideas why it's not finding my message? All the others work.

  • SharePoint Item Event Receivers and Site Creation

    - by Michael Edwards
    I have created an Item Event Receiver for a document library and I have test that the logic works correctly and it all does. The next thing I wanted to do is automatically create the list when a site is created so I added the list to the ONET.xml file for the site: <Lists> <List Title="Documents" Description="Documents " url="MyDocumentLibrary" Type="10002" FeatureId="CFD8504D-70EB-4ba2-9CCB-52E38DB39E60" QuickLaunchUrl="Docs/AllItems.aspx" /> </Lists> And I ensure that the feature for this list is also activated be adding the feature to the <WebFeatures> <Feature ID="CFD8504D-70EB-4ba2-9CCB-52E38DB39E60" /> </WebFeatures> The problem occurs after I create the site, when I add a document to the list the Item Event Receiver does not run. However if I manually for to the web site features and deactivate and then reactivate the feature the Item Event Receiver does run. It seems that when creating a list through the ONET.xml and activating the feature it does not bind the Item Event Receiver to the list. What is the work around for this? Is this a bug?

  • Interrupting Prototype handler, alert() vs event.stop()

    - by lxs
    Here's the test page I'm using. This version works fine, forwarding to #success: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html><head> <script type="text/javascript" src="prototype.js"></script> </head><body> <form id='form' method='POST' action='#fail'> <button id='button'>Oh my giddy aunt!</button> <script type="text/javascript"> var fn = function() { $('form').action = "#success"; $('form').submit(); } $('button').observe('mousedown', fn); </script> </form> </body></html> If I empty the handler: var fn = function() { } The form is submitted, but of course we are sent to #fail this time. With an alert in the handler: var fn = function() { alert("omg!"); } The form is not submitted. This is awfully curious. With event.stop(), which is supposed to prevent the browser taking the default action: var fn = function(event) { event.stop(); } We are sent to #fail. So alert() is more effective at preventing a submission than event.stop(). What gives? I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 and Prototype 1.6.0.3. This behaviour also appears in Prototype 1.6.1.

  • jQuery modal dialog on ajaxStart event

    - by bdl
    I'm trying to use a jQuery UI modal dialog as a loading indicator via the ajaxStart, ajaxStop / ajaxComplete events. When the page fires, an Ajax handler loads some data, and the modal dialog shows just fine. However, it never hides or closes the dialog when the Ajax event is complete. It's a very small bit of code from the local server that is returned, so the actual Ajax event is very quick. Here's my actual code for the modal div: $("#modalwindow").dialog({ modal: true, height: 50, width: 200, zIndex: 999, resizable: false, title: "Please wait..." }) .bind("ajaxStart", function(){ $(this).show(); }) .bind("ajaxStop", function(){ $(this).hide(); }); The Ajax event is just a plain vanilla $.ajax({}) GET method call. Based on some searching here and Google, I've tried altering the ajaxStop handler to use $("#modalwindow").close(), $("#modalwindow").destroy(), etc. (#modalwindow referred to here as to give explicit context). I've also tried using the standard $("#modalwindow").dialog({}).ajaxStart(... as well. Should I be binding the events to a different object? Or calling them from within the $.ajax() complete event? I should mention, I'm testing on the latest IE8, FF 3.6 and Chrome. All have the same / effect.

  • jquery change event not working with IE6

    - by manivineet
    It is indeed quite unfortunate that my client still uses IE6. using jquery 1.4.2 The problem is that I open a window using a click event and do some edit operation in the new window. I have a 'change' event attached to the row of a table which has input fields. Now when the window loads for the first time and I make a change in the input for the FIRST time, the change event does not fire. however, on a second try it starts working. I have noticed that I e.g. I run a dummy page, i.e. create a new page(i work with visual studio) and run that page individually , the 'change' event works just fine. what it going on? and what can i do, besides going back to 1.3.2 (by the way that doesn't work either, but haven't fully tested it yet) <!--HTML--> <table id="tbReadData"> <tr class="nenDataRow" id="nenDr2"> <td> <input type="text" class="nenMeterRegister" value="1234" /> </td> <tr /> <table> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('#tbReadData').find('tr').change(function() { alert('this works'); } }); </script>

    - by Suzanne
    I'm creating a new site using the below script embedded in my swf. But I keep getting this error on all the pages: Error #1063: Argument count mismatch on com.flashden::MenuItem(). Expected 1, got 0. package com.flashden { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.text.*; import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.events.*; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.display.Loader; public class MenuItem extends MovieClip { private var scope; public var closedX; :Number public static const OPEN_MENU = "openMenu"; public function MenuItem(scope) { // set scope to talk back to -------------------------------// this.scope = scope; // disable all items not to be clickable -------------------// txt_label.mouseEnabled = false; menuItemShine.mouseEnabled = false; menuItemArrow.mouseEnabled = false; // make background clip the item to be clicked (button) ----// menuItemBG.buttonMode = true; // add click event listener to the header background -------// menuItemBG.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler); } private function clickHandler (e:MouseEvent) { scope.openMenuItem(this); } public function loadContent (contentURL:String) { var loader:Loader = new Loader(); configureListeners(loader.contentLoaderInfo); var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(contentURL); loader.load(request); // place x position of content at the bottom of the header so the top is not cut off ----// loader.x = 30; // we add the content at level 1, because the background clip is at level 0 ----// addChildAt(loader, 1); } private function configureListeners(dispatcher:IEventDispatcher):void { dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS, httpStatusHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.INIT, initHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, ioErrorHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.OPEN, openHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progressHandler); dispatcher.addEventListener(Event.UNLOAD, unLoadHandler); } private function completeHandler(event:Event):void { //trace("completeHandler: " + event); // remove loader animation ----------------// removeChild(getChildByName("mc_preloader")); } private function httpStatusHandler(event:HTTPStatusEvent):void { // trace("httpStatusHandler: " + event); } private function initHandler(event:Event):void { //trace("initHandler: " + event); } private function ioErrorHandler(event:IOErrorEvent):void { //trace("ioErrorHandler: " + event); } private function openHandler(event:Event):void { //trace("openHandler: " + event); } private function progressHandler(event:ProgressEvent):void { //trace("progressHandler: bytesLoaded=" + event.bytesLoaded + " bytesTotal=" + event.bytesTotal); } private function unLoadHandler(event:Event):void { //trace("unLoadHandler: " + event); } } }

  • Problems with CGPoint/touches event

    - by Jason
    I'm having some problems with storing variables from my touch events. The warning I get when I run this is that coord and icoord are unused, but I used them in the viewDidLoad implementation, is there a reason why this does not work? Any suggestions? #import "iGameViewController.h" @implementation iGameViewController @synthesize player; -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint icoord = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; } -(void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint coord = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; } - (void)viewDidLoad { if (coord.x > icoord.x) { player.center = CGPointMake(player.center.x + 5, player.center.y); } if (coord.x < icoord.x) { player.center = CGPointMake(player.center.x - 5, player.center.y); } if (coord.y > icoord.y) { player.center = CGPointMake(player.center.x, player.center.y - 5); } if (coord.y < icoord.y) { player.center = CGPointMake(player.center.x, player.center.y + 5); } } Thanks.

  • How to get mouseposition when context menu appears?

    - by ikky
    Hi. I have a panel which holds many pictureboxes. Each picturebox has registered "contextRightMenu" as their context menu. What i want when the context menu pops up is to get the current mouseposition. I have tried getting the mouseposition by using mouseDown and click, but these events happens after one of the items of the context menu is clicked, and that is too late. the popup event of the context menu does not deliver mouse event args, so i don't know how to get the mouseposition. If i can get mouse event args it is easy. Then i just can: this.contextRightClick.Popup += new System.EventHandler(this.contextRightClick_Popup); // If EventArgs include mouseposition within the sender private void contextRightClick_Popup)(object sender, EventArgs e) { int iLocationX = sender.Location.X; int iLocationY = sender.Location.Y; Point pPosition = new Point(iLocationX + e.X, iLocationY + e.Y); // Location + position within the sender = current mouseposition } Can anyone help me either get some mouse event args, or suggest a event that will run before the contextmenu pop ups? Thanks in advance

  • How to get associated URLRequest from Event.COMPLETE fired by URLLoader

    - by matt lohkamp
    So let's say we want to load some XML - var xmlURL:String = 'content.xml'; var xmlURLRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest(xmlURL); var xmlURLLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(xmlURLRequest); xmlURLLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(e:Event):void{ trace('loaded',xmlURL); trace(XML(e.target.data)); }); If we need to know the source URL for that particular XML doc, we've got that variable to tell us, right? Now let's imagine that the xmlURL variable isn't around to help us - maybe we want to load 3 XML docs, named in sequence, and we want to use throwaway variables inside of a for-loop: for(var i:uint = 3; i > 0; i--){ var xmlURLLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(new URLRequest('content'+i+'.xml')); xmlURLLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(e:Event):void{ trace(e.target.src); // I wish this worked... trace(XML(e.target.data)); }); } Suddenly it's not so easy, right? I hate that you can't just say e.target.src or whatever - is there a good way to associate URLLoaders with the URL they loaded data from? Am I missing something? It feels unintuitive to me.

  • Eventlog entry for allowed connection in Windows Firewall

    - by Jaap
    I was seeing a lot of entries in the eventlog: The Windows Filtering Platform has permitted a connection. Application Information: Process ID: 4 Application Name: System Network Information: Direction: Inbound Source Address: 10.xxx.xxx.xxx Source Port: 80 Destination Address: 10.xxx.xxx.xxx Destination Port: 31773 Protocol: 6 Filter Information: Filter Run-Time ID: 67903 Layer Name: Receive/Accept Layer Run-Time ID: 44 We have a loadbalancer which checks every second to see if the application is still running (a health check). The logs contain large amounts of this kind of entries, which makes the Event Viewer slow and it's difficult to find the more interesting logs. How do I make sure these messages don't end up in the event logs?

  • Event feed implementation - will it scale?

    - by SlappyTheFish
    Situation: I am currently designing a feed system for a social website whereby each user has a feed of their friends' activities. I have two possible methods how to generate the feeds and I would like to ask which is best in terms of ability to scale. Events from all users are collected in one central database table, event_log. Users are paired as friends in the table friends. The RDBMS we are using is MySQL. Standard method: When a user requests their feed page, the system generates the feed by inner joining event_log with friends. The result is then cached and set to timeout after 5 minutes. Scaling is achieved by varying this timeout. Hypothesised method: A task runs in the background and for each new, unprocessed item in event_log, it creates entries in the database table user_feed pairing that event with all of the users who are friends with the user who initiated the event. One table row pairs one event with one user. The problems with the standard method are well known – what if a lot of people's caches expire at the same time? The solution also does not scale well – the brief is for feeds to update as close to real-time as possible The hypothesised solution in my eyes seems much better; all processing is done offline so no user waits for a page to generate and there are no joins so database tables can be sharded across physical machines. However, if a user has 100,000 friends and creates 20 events in one session, then that results in inserting 2,000,000 rows into the database. Question: The question boils down to two points: Is this worst-case scenario mentioned above problematic, i.e. does table size have an impact on MySQL performance and are there any issues with this mass inserting of data for each event? Is there anything else I have missed?
