  • jsf flash.keep and redirects does not seem to work

    Hi, I am trying to use JSF 2.0 flash via redirects. I have a class named UserBean (ManagedScoped and RequestScoped). It has a method called getValuesFromFlash which essentially gets the values from the flash and sets the coresponding properties of the UserBean public void getValuesFromFlash() { Flash flash = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getFlash(); firstName= (String) flash.get("firstName"); lastName = (String) flash.get("lastName"); } In the entry page the <h:inputText> are bound to the flash. Snippet follows: Entry.xhtml <h:form> <table> <tr> <td>First Name:</td> <td> <h:inputText id="fname" value="#{flash.firstName}" required="true"/> <h:message for="fname" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Last Name:</td> <td> <h:inputText id="lname" value="#{flash.lastName}" required="true"/> <h:message for="lname" /> </td> </tr> </table <p><h:commandButton value="Submit" action="confirmation?faces-redirect=true" /></p> </h:form> In confirmation.xhtml these values are supposed to be displayed but they are not. Snippet follows: <table> <tr> <td>First Name:</td> <td> <h:outputText value="#{flash.keep.firstName}" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Last Name:</td> <td> <h:outputText value="#{flash.keep.lastName}"/> </td> </tr> </table> <h:form> <p><h:commandButton value="Confirm" action="finished?faces-redirect=true" /></p> </h:form> In finished.xhtml I want all these to be displayed so: <h:body> <h:form> #{userBean.getValuesFromFlash( )} <table> <tr> <td>First Name:</td> <td> <h:outputText value="#{userBean.firstName}" /> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Last Name:</td> <td> <h:outputText value="#{userBean.lastName}"/> </td> </tr> </table> </h:form> </h:body> Instead when I get redirected to confirmation.xhtml neither first nor last name is displayed, despite I used flash.keep Also in finished.xhtml I get org.apache.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered " "(" "( "" at line 1, column 30. Was expecting one of: "}" ... "." If I remove the parenthesis from the expression #{userBean.getValuesFromFlash( )} and make it = #{userBean.getValuesFromFlash} javax.el.ELException: /done.xhtml: Property 'getValuesFromFlash' not found on type com.UserBean But why no property??It is a method! Why is the method not visible? What I am doing wrong here please? I am using JSF2.0 (MyFaces), Eclipse Helios and Tomcat 6 (Have also tried in Tomcat 7 but no luck). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Basically, I'd like to take some basic performance data from each one, through such into a spreadsheet, and compare. CPU load, RAM load, whatever... If anyone can point out a very simple/stupid "here's how you do that" type of tutorial, that would be wonderful.

    I have a network that connects 2 households and would like to setup a simple voip server so that I can call between the houses. It needs to be for ubnutu , I have used the free 3CX system and while it works brilliantly it doesnt support linux and I can get a windows box. The users will never need to call external lines. They will only make 'calls' between laptops/pc. Can someone please make a recommendation and maybe even a tutorial that I can follow

    I am looking for a dead simple dashboard for Nagios so our IT team can view the status of our services. In an old version of what's up gold, it was a nice dashboard with different rectangular shape being red, yellow or green depending on the status of the service and could be display easily on a screen. Is there some copycat dashboard for nagios ? any better recommendation ? I want something you can see from your desk 15meters away: red or green, no need for details.

    I've been using itunes to stream music over lan, and quite frankly the quality is terrible. On the other hand, its ease of use - having a simple client on either end, and it just 'working' with full control on my end is nice- the quality however is terrible - I'm wondering if there's any controllable streaming remote music serve for windows that will let me pick the bitrate it sends at, or uses whatever bitrate the original file is in, and just sends it, and has itself controllable at the client end, and will work acceptably over a wlan connection

  • Solaris: a simple script does not work, single command does

    In my Solaris Illumos, I run a simple script: update_drv -a -i '[myhardware]' [driver] svcadm disable stmf svccfg import /mypath/myconfig svcadm enable stmf It does not work and gives me no error. The service stmf goes in maintenance mode and I must reboot! I've discovered that if I run the single commands from console, it works but if I put it into a script, it works only the first line. Can you explain this behavior?

    Has anyone ever used/created a simple unix/linux log parser that can parse logs like the following: timestamp log_message \n Order the messages, parse the timestamp, and return: All messages Messages after a certain date (--since) Messages before a certain date (--until) Combination of --since, --until I could write something like this, but wasn't sure if there was something canned. It would fit well in some automated reporting I'm planning on doing.

  • Sql Server differential backup : Simple vs Full recovery model

    I need to better understand the backup process under SQL Server 2008. Since drive space is a kind of matter for us and we want to have a better disaster recovery solution, I decided that we will implement differential backups throughout the day (every hour). Am I right to think that if I keep the recovery model of my databases to Simple, the differential backup will be almost the same size as Full Backup (too big to make one every hour) ? I already tried to switch to Full recovery and it seemed to have fixed the issue (differential backups were way smaller). I heard that the recovery model must be set to Full to use Log backups (to the minute recovery etc., but we don't need that) but never about differential backups. So, is the recovery model really having an impact on differential backups or am I missing something ? Thank you

  • Which file format to use for simple video editoring

    I've just bought a Sanyo VPC-CG10 camcorder which saves clips as MPEG-4 (specifically, High-Definition 720p MPEG-4 AVC/H.246) I want a simple, cheap way to edit the clips and as, I'm using Windows Vista, I though Windows Movie Maker would be a good choice. But you can't import mp4 files into Windows Movie Maker. I've tried various codecs, but I'm not sure what is the best format to convert to, so that I can edit the files in Windows Movie Maker. AVI, MPG, WMI... I'm not sure what format is best. Should I try to keep the movie clips in MPEG-4 and edit them in that format (and then which editor do I use?) or is there a better format that I should convert to before editing (and what format is that?) ?

  • microsoft visual studio 2008 builds keep failing

    My builds keep failing with the following error Project : error PRJ0002 : Error result 31 returned from 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin\mt.exe'. I find that i have to kill some process called mspdbsrv.exe description:"microsoft program database" Then rebuild the entire project. This is annoying. Is there a permanent solution to this problem or is it stuck with me for good? PS OS: windows 7 ultimate msv studio 2008 + sp1 professional

    Will .Net 4.0 use a new version of the CLR (v2.1, 3.0) or will it stick with the existing v2.0? Supplementary: Is it possibly going to keep with CLR v2.0 and add DLR v1.0? Update: Whilst this might look like a speculative question which cannot be answered, the VS team appear to be releasing more and more info on VS10 and .Net 4.0 so this may very soon not be the case.   • Keep username in username field when incorrect password (php)

    How do many of the websites that have logins keep the username in the username field when the password is entered incorrectly. The form's action (it is on index.php) is another php file, which if the password is incorrect uses Header() to go back to the index and passes the error to it using GET. I could use GET to pass the username back to the form but this seems messy, and I have noticed that websites like SMF forums have the username stay in the username field without a messy URL.

    Is there a way to keep 2 sequences synchronized in Postgres? I mean if I have: table_A_id_seq = 1 table_B_id_seq = 1 if I execute SELECT nextval('table_A_id_seq'::regclass) I want that table_B_id_seq takes the same value of table_A_id_seq and obviously it must be the same on the other side. I need 2 different sequences because I have to hack some constraints I have in Django (and that I cannot solve there).
