  • Print newline in PHP in single quotes

    Hey all, I try to use single quotes as much as possible and I've noticed that I can't use \n in single quotes. I know I can just enter a newline literally by pressing return, but that screws up the indentation of my code.. Is there some ASCII character or something that I can type that will produce newline when I'm using single quotes? Thanks! Matt Mueller

  • Vague MVC and Castle Windsor question. Sorry...

    I have inheritted some code in which the MVC Controller classes all get their constructors called by Castle....DefaultProxyFactory.Create() somewhere along the line (the call stack drops out to the , which isn't helping.) So, basically, how would I go about finding out where Castle is being told how to call the constructors of my Controllers? I am very new to Castle, Windsor and MicroKernel, etc, and not a master of ASP's MVC. Many thanks for any pointers - sorry about the vagueness, Matt.

  • Prompting user for multiple selections in an iphone app

    I'm currently looking for a way to provide the user with being able to select multiple items from a collection of values. I know this is done in the mail app whereby you can go into the edit mode of a folder and select multiple items by clicking on the circle on the left hand side.     HOWEVER! would setting the $link to my database be one thing that I prolly should use a GLOBAL scope for? In my setting of (lots of functions)...it seems as though having only one variable that is on the global scope would be wise. I am currently using the functions to transfer it back and forth so that way I do not have it on global...but it is a bit of a hinder to my script. Please Advise, Thank you. Matt

  • Why don't all XSLT templates get executed at once?

    Refer to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1613454/retrieving-one-element-and-filter-by-another In the above linked posting, I don't understand why the two template blocks don't get executed upon in the incoming XML at the same time. As far I can can see, the XSL risks the second template executing for every Document element whether it is called with apply-templates or not. Could someone explain this to my stifled brain, please?     Hi, Is there any way to delay calling a superclass constructor so you can manipulate the variables first? Eg. public class ParentClass { private int someVar; public ParentClass(int someVar) { this.someVar = someVar; } } public class ChildClass : ParentClass { public ChildClass(int someVar) : base(someVar) { someVar = someVar + 1 } } I want to be able to send the new value for someVar (someVar + 1) to the base class constructor rather than the one passed in to the ChildClass constructor.     What I am looking for currently is a simple, basic, login credentials sanitation script. I understand that I make a function to do so and I have one...but all it does right now is strip tags... am I doomed to use replace? or is there a way i can just remove all special characters and spaces and limit it to only letters and numbers...then as for the password limit it to only letters and numbers exclimation points, periods, and other special chars that cannot affect my SQL query. I am looking for options to stream/load the xml document in chunks so that I do not get out of memory errors -- at the same time, performance is important too. I'm not very saavy in flash so this may be a simple question.. but how do you make a "movie-less" flash file? Is it possible to just embed an actionscript file?   • Windows 7 - Wireless Signal Good - Internet Often Says Limited or No Activity

    Hi - I have a New Dell Studio XPS latop that I hooked up in early January of 2010. The Dell Studio XPS laptop is connected to my wireless router (Belkin Wireless N). The router was purchased in Februaru of 2010 because I thought my router was bad (A D-Link router). Comcast is my ISP. Everyday, at random times, the internet will have a good signal (according to the little Win 7 icon on the taskbar) but I will receive a message saying limited or no internet access and I cannot access the internet. I have the internet setup to automatically get an IP and I did the IPCONFIG release / renew but with no success. I even had a WiFi enabled Blackberry right next to my computer and whenever the computer loses an WiFi connection, so does the Blackberry. The router isnt't bad, because the old router did the same thing - giving me limited or no internet access while working sometimes. I also tried using two other laptops in same physical position as my Dell Studio XPS laptop and they have the same problem. I am going crazy trying to figure this out as I have called the Router Company (Belkin), my ISP (Comcast), and my computer maker (Dell). Can anyone offer some suggestions and I can try them as we work through this and maybe one of the suggestion will be right one. Thanks in advance for even reading my problem. I searched for a problem similar to mine on the internet, but I have not been able to keep a steady internet connection. (Side note - I used to have an IBM thinkpad laptop and D - Link router and for years that wireless connection worked FLAWLESSLY, with the same physical set up - the laptop in my bedroom, and the router in the basement.)

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Drivers Missing Would Not Install?

    I am building my dev machine with WS2008R2SP1. I consider Windows Server as the best development environment for C# since I tend to focus on server-centric (integration) applications. The desktop flavor of Windows (7) doesn't play nicely with things like Commerce Server or BizTalk... so I to like stick to the environment I develop for. Previously I used to develop inside of VM's but I've found that it is super inefficient and tends to take a toll on the laptops. (I've gone through two of them in 6 months). Problem is that I multiple devices that do not want to be recognized by Windows: My machine is Dell Precision M4500: Intel Core i7-Q740, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, Dell re-branded Broadcom DW1501 802x11n Half-Mini Card, Dell re-branded Broadcom DW375 Bluetooh Module, Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network connection NVidia Quadro FX1800 Graphics The devices in question are the Dell rebranded broadcom network and bluetooth adapters: Broadcom USH: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&REV_0101&MI_00 USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00 DW375 Bluetooth Module USB\VID_413C&PID_8187&REV_0517 USB\VID_413C&PID_8187 When I ran the broadcom installers I get "Operating System not supported" which I think is a big oversight on Broadcom's part. Why check for system version string? UGHGHGH Moreover if I try to manually force the driver in windows... I get an error: Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\btwampsecfl.inf_amd64_neutral_d8fc2b85d035ed47\btwampsecfl.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\7&66DE6C9&0&0000 with the following status: 0xe0000217. '- or - Driver Management concluded the process to install driver FileRepository\btwampfl.inf_amd64_neutral_d4c4acf036c61299\btwampfl.inf for Device Instance ID USB\VID_413C&PID_8187\90004EEEF5A6 with the following status: 0xe0000217. I googled the 0xe0000217 error code and it says Bad service install section in the driver inf file... Any ideas on how to fix this? I also tried the post by BetaIQ on MSDN Forum, unfortunately the links to the driver package included in the post were dead :( PS. On a side note I also do mobile development for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, and BB. Having the bluetooth is quite useful with mobile devices.
