    Browser war really still uncompleted but here i tell that Why Google chrome better. 1. Easy to install:- as IE 9 Google chrome not force user to purchase a new OS. the chrome have a facelity that they install in minutes then less then other just like Firefox a another competitor or bloody fool  IE 9. 2. Easy to test: if you want to test their beta that’s no problem as well as Firefox. if user use Firefox 4 beta that they found that they can’t use many good plugin such as a big list the Web Developer tool and many other are one of them. in Chrome beta they provide you more then the last official release of chrome. 3. Google chrome Sync:-  i myself used  sync inside Firefox but nothing i found good and from a long time i feel nothing good and any feature in Firefox sync. but in google chrome their sync system is much better. When user login for sync in chrome they install everything and get back the user every settings they set the last time such as apps, autofill, bookmark ,extensions preference and theme. if you want to check bookmark from other browser that you can use google docs because google provided their bookmark backup in their docs account they have. performance:- after testing a website i found that a website open in 36 seconds in Firefox that Google chrome open them in 10 seconds. i found a interesting thing that when i test offline in IE 8 they show me in one or two seconds. i wonder how it’s possible after a long puzzle i found that IE was integrated software from Microsoft that the both software Visual studio and IE was integrated with windows. if user  test javascript in IE that the error they find show in visual studio not in IE as well as other software like chrome and IE. chrome not have a vast range of plugin as well as firefox so developer spent less time on chrome that would be a problem of future of chrome. interface comparison : the chrome have a common but user friendly interface then the user easily can use them. are you watching menu in Firefox 4. they make them complex as well as whole software IE 9. IE developer team thing that they can make everything fool by making a slogan HTML 5 inside IE. if anyone want to open a page in IE 9 that they show after some second. some time they show page not found even site is not gone wrong. when anyone want to use IE 9 developer tool that they thing that “ are this really  a developer tool ? ”. yeah they not make them for human as well as Firebug working team make firebug inside Firefox. they thing that how they can make public fool. Are you see that if you want to install Visual studio they force you to install sql server even you use other database system. a big stupidity of their tool can be found here today we hear that they Microsoft launched silverlight 5. are you know how Microsoft make silverlight yeah he copycat the idea of Adobe and their product Adobe Flash. that’s a other matter we can use .Net language instead of actionscript , lingo or shockwave.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Silverlight Applications. Part 2 Max Paulousky has part 2 of his Silverlight 4 and SEO series up. In part 2 he's discussing sitemaps and html content providing. He also has good links showing where to submit your sitemaps and information. Mousin’ down the PathListBox Teresa and Ronald Burger (not sure which) has a post up about the PathListBox and how they drew the path that they ended up using, and the code used to enable animation. Dynamically apply and change Theme with the Silverlight Toolkit We've all had fun playing with themes, but Laurent Duveau has an example up of letting your users change the theme at run-time. Microsoft Translator client library for Silverlight Tim Heuer has been playing with the Microsoft Translator for Silverlight and he has a "Works on My Machine" license on what he's making available .. but considering his access to resources... I'd say go for it :) Custom Per-Page Transitions in Windows Phone 7 Jeff Brand has a follow-on to his other WP7 post about page transitions and is now discussing per-page transitions Silverlight Tip of the Day #26 – Changing the Startup Class Mike Snow's latest 'tip' is a little more involved than a tip ... changing the startup class and actually removing (in his example), the page and app classes... code and xaml! I've seen this before but never explained as clean... fun stuff.   • I can't shut down nor reboot without console

    After update from 11.04 to 11.10 an wired conduct appears in my machine: Shutdown GUI methods (including reboot) cause only a log off, and in the login screen, shutdown nor reboot options do anything (if you wonder, reboot appears in the shutdown dialog). The only way i can reboot or shutdown is trough console sudo shutdown -h now or sudo reboot. This is OK for me, but not for the rest of the users. How to fix this?   • How can I resolve this one application coming up with an "You don't have permission to use the application" error?

    I've got a Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Server Open Directory Master with a user who's getting Mobility & Application managed preferences from a group (the only group they're a member of). The workstation is also running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, when the user logs in and tries to run our primary application which they're explicitly allowed to run (via the group's preferences), it says "You don't have permission to use the application 'Blah'". Now, the application is added to the group's list of always allowed applications, unsigned (so a minor difference in application version or file contents shouldn't disallow it). It even lives in a subdirectory of /Applications which is in the list of folders to allow applications. I've run into this when logging this user into new workstations and the following usually works: Log them out Remove the following files from their mobile home folder on the workstation: /Library/Managed\ Preferences/, ~/.FileSync, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist, and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.MCX.plist. Remove the following files from their network home folder on the server: ~/.FileSync, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist, and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.MCX.plist. Log them back in on the workstation. However, this no longer resolves the issue. Update: I thought I had found a workaround this morning, but it also seemed to be extremely temporary. Basically, loking at /Library/Managed\ Preferences/[shortname]/com.apple.applicationaccess.new.plist I discovered that it didn't have an entry for the application in question, but /Library/Managed\ Preferences/[shortname]/complete.plist did. Naturally, I deleted com.apple.applicationaccess.new.plist, logged in again, and it worked... on one workstation. It failed on others, and after logging out & back in a couple more times it started failing on all of them again, even after further deletions of com.apple.applicationaccess.new.plist. Oddly, com.apple.applicationaccess.new.plist & complete.plist do both contain an entry for the application in question now, but it still says it's not allowed. Further Update: Okay, so I now have a reproducible workaround which seems to be required after every reboot of the workstation: Log in as the user (you'll discover you cannot launch the application in question). Fast User Switch to the local admin account on the workstation (we always have one on every machine). From that local admin account, run sudo mcxrefresh -n 'shortname' (logging out and back in as the user in question will not work). Fast User Switch back to the user (you'll still not be allowed to run the application). Log the user out and back in (you'll now be able to run the application in question.) Fast User Switch back to the local admin account, log it out, and log back in as the user in question. If you do all that exactly as described it'll keep working through log out & log back in, but NOT through a reboot. If, after a reboot, you try something like logging in as the local admin account, running sudo mcxrefresh -n 'shortname', logging out, then logging in as the user in question, it will NOT work. Yet Another Update We don't have any computer groups in our Open Directory, so it shouldn't be getting any conflicting settings from there. I ran sudo mcxquery -format xml -user shortname -group groupname before & after performing the aforementioned process to allow the application in question to be run and the results were identical (saved the result to files & diff'd... I'm not just guessing here). One Step Forward, Half a Step Back: When the Mac OS X 10.6.5 Server update was released, we upgraded our Open Directory Master to it as the changes included the following managed preferences fixes which I hoped might address this issue: Addresses an issue that could prevent managed preferences from being applied when a user logs in on a workstation that has been idle. Fixes an issue that could prevent administrators from bypassing client management settings on a workstation. This seemed to improve the situation slightly. The application in question now usually launches without error. If, and when it does launch with the "You don't have permission to use the application" error, logging the user out and back in seems to correct it. That said, we've since had to add a couple of applications to the user's ~/Applications/ directory and those are still prevented from launching. The workstations are running Mac OS X 10.6.4, the OD Master (which the workstations are bound to) is running Mac OS 10.6.5 Server (although there are two OD Replicas still running 10.6.4 Server), and we're using Workgroup Manager 10.6.3 (which is included with the Server Admin Tools 10.6.5 upgrade) to add the applications (unsigned, as always).   • SharePoint 2010, Cloud, and the Constitution

    The other evening an article on the Red Tap Chronicles caught my eye. The article written by Bob Sullivan titled "The Constitutional Issues of Cloud Computing" was very interesting in regards to the direction most of the technical world is going. We all have been inundated about utilizing cloud computing for reasons of price, availability, or even scalability; but what Bob brings up is a whole separate view of why a business might not want to move toward the cloud for services or applications. The overall point to the article was pretty simple. It all boiled down to the summation that hosting "Things" in the cloud (Email, Documents, etc…) are interpreted differently under the law regarding constitutional search and seizure than say a document or item that is kept in physical form at a business or home. Where if you physically have it stored someone would have to get a warrant to search for it or seize it, but if it is stored off in the cloud and the ISV or provider is subpoenaed for the item then they will usually give access to the information. Obviously this is a big difference in interpretation of the law and the constitution due to technology. So you might ask "Where does this fit in with SharePoint? Well the overall push for this next version of SharePoint is one that gives a business ultimate flexibility to utilize the Cloud. In one example this upcoming version gracefully lends itself to Multi Tenancy so that online or "Cloud" hosting would be possible by Service Providers. Another aspect to the upcoming version is that it has updated its ability to store content outside of the database and in a cheaper commoditized storage facility. This is called Remote Blob Storage (or RBS) which is the next evolution of External Blob Storage (or EBS). With this new functionality that business might look forward to it is extremely important for them to understand that they might be opening themselves up to laws that do not need a warrant to search or seize their information that is stored in the cloud. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next few months. Usually the laws change slowly in comparison to technology so it might be a while until we see if it is actually constitutional to treat someone's content on the cloud differently as it would be in their possession, however until there is some type of parity that happens or more concrete laws regarding the differences be very careful about what you put in the cloud.   • Initializing SD card in SPI issues

    Sorry for the length of this question, but I thought it best to show as much detail to fend of questions asking if I had done A when I had already done A... ;-) I've had a look at the "micro-SD card initialization using SPI interface" thread and didn't see any answers that matched my issue (i.e. things I haven't already tried). I have a similar issue where I'm trying to access a SD card through a micro-controller's SPI interface (specifically an HC908). I've tried following the flow charts in the Physical Layer Simplified Specification v2.00 and it seems to initialize correctly on Transcend 1GB & 2GB and an AE&C 1GB card. But I'm having problems on 3 other random cards from my stash of old cards that I've used on my camera. My code is all HC908 assembler. I scoped out the SPI clock line and during initialization it's running about 350kHz (the only speed multiplier that the HC908 supplies at my low MCU clock speed that falls within the 100-400kHz window).   • SyncFramework upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0 Sql Server CE database change tracking issue

    I'm trying to upgrade an application that uses Sync Framework 1.0 to synchronise a SqlServerCe database with SqlServer 2005. On the client, the existing database already has change tracking enabled, but when the sync is initiated SyncFramework 2.0 fails to find the last Sync Received anchor and then tries to re=initialize the Change tracking, which fails. I get the exception... {System.Exception} = {"The specified change tracking operation is not supported. To carry out this operation on the table, disable the change tracking on the table, and enable the change tracking."} It seems like all I can do is delete the local database and recreate it. Which is not a great solution for us, since some of the data in the clients database is not synced with the server, and our users would prefer not to loose this data in the upgrade. Is there any reason why SyncFramework 2.0 cannot locate the existing Last received sync anchor?

    I have a cross-domain POST request to http://api.local/user/auth - my API endpoint. I allow Cross Domain requests in my api with CORS. Using Chrome if that makes a difference. I get a valid server JSON response with 200 Status Code but I am using deferreds from a backbone model like so: @model.save() .fail(-> console.log 'sync fail') .success -> console.log 'sync OK' And I consistently get a 'sync fail' instead of the expected 'sync OK' Thoughts?

  • How do you determine up/down latency of a web app.

    I am trying to work out how to calculate the latency of requests through a web-app (Javascript) to a .net webservice. Currently I am essentially trying to sync both client and server time, which when hitting the webservice I can look at the offset (which would accurately show the 'up' latency. The problem is - when you sync the time's, you have to factor in latency for that also. So currently I am timeing the sync request (round trip) and dividing by 2, in an attempt to get the 'up' latency...and then modify the sync accordingly. This works on the assumption that latency is symmetrical, which it isn't. Does anyone know a procedure that would be able to determine specifically the up/down latency of a JS http request to a .net service? If it needs to involve multiple handshakes thats fine, what ever is as accurate as possible. Thanks!!

    Hi Experts, I had a Ribbon like custom control. I created an application using this control. These applications work fine until I change the system number format. They crashes if I change the system number format like below: Current Format = English (United State) Decimal symbol = ',' Digit group symbol = '.' When I run applications, they throw an exception "Input string not in Correct format". . Some other applications specify the Exception's message = "Input string '0,2,0,2' was not a correct format", so I think in Wpf ES's xaml files, we may declare some properties i.e Padding, Margin like "0,2,0,2" = that will cause errors with the system number format above. I have note that this error only occurs in Windows Vista, it does not occurs on Windows XP. I do not know why? If I do "cap deploy" in my local machine then I think Capistrano should upload my rail application to my host, right? Someone from my host is saying that I need to run "cap deploy" in server. I think it doesn't make sense.
