  • Cross-reference between delphi records

    - by Paul-Jan
Let's say I have a record TQuaternion and a record TVector. Quaternions have some methods with TVector parameters. On the other hand, TVector supports some operations that have TQuaternion parameters. Knowing that Delphi (Win32) does not allow for forward record declarations, how do I solve this elegantly? Using classes is not really an option here, because I really want to use operator overloading for this rare case where it actually makes good sense. For now I simply moved these particular methods out of the records and into separate functions, the good old-fashioned way. Better suggestions are most welcome.

  • How to transfer url parameters to repoze custom predicate checkers

    - by user281521
I would like to create a repoze custom predicate checker that is capable to access url parameters and validate something. But I would like to use allow_only to set this permission checker in all the controller's scope. Something like: class MyController(BaseController): allow_only = All(not_anonymous(msg=l_(u'You must be logged on')), my_custom_predicate(msg=l_(u'something wrong'))) def index(self, **kw): return dict() then, my_custom_predicate should check the url paramters for every request in every MyController method, and do whatever it do. The problem is just that: how to allow my_custom_predicate to check the url parameters, using it in that way I wrote above.

  • How to negotiate red5 connection parameters for streaming with JAVA

    - by baba
Hi, I have been creating a thin browser client (on java) that sends an RTMP stream to a specified red5 instance. I also use RTMP Researcher to monitor the traffic and events that occur between the client and the server. Here is what I note: There is obviously a map with options that is being exchanged between the red5 instance and the client. You can see it here: (direct link : http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/661/newbitmapimagelb.png ) What I am wondering about is is there a programmatic way to obtain this map in the client side and maybe change some of the parameters or just examine them Edit: I am connecting like this connect ( host, port, app, callback ); . I assume I am sending some default parameters along, because the other connect methods have also an optionsMap as an argument. I was wondering what are the possible values that could be put in such an optionsMap and where to obtain a list of them?

  • XMLHttpRequest inside an object: how to keep the reference to "this"

    - by Julien
I make some Ajax calls from inside a javascript object.: myObject.prototye = { ajax: function() { this.foo = 1; var req = new XMLHttpRequest(); req.open('GET', url, true); req.onreadystatechange = function (aEvt) { if (req.readyState == 4) { if(req.status == 200) { alert(this.foo); // reference to this is lost } } } }; Inside the onreadystatechange function, this does not refer to the main object anymore, so I don't have access to this.foo. Ho can I keep the reference to the main object inside XMLHttpRequest events?

  • Adding WCF service reference adds DataContract types too

    - by Avi Shilon
Hi everybody, I've used Visual Studio's Add Service Reference feature to add a service (actually it is a workflow service, created in WF4 RC1, but I don't think this makes any difference), and it also added the DataContracts that the service uses. At first this seemed fine, because All I've had in the DataContracts was simply properties, with no implementations. But now I've added code in the constructor of one data contracts that initializes creates an instance of one of the properties that exposes a list of other DCs, and when I've updated the service reference via VS (2010 RC1), the implementation was not updated. What should I do? Should I use my DCs instead of the ones created by VS or should I use the ones VS created? I've noticed that the properties in the VS-generated DCs contain some additional logic for checking equality in the setters and they also implement some interfaces too (like IExtensibleDataObject and INotifyPropertyChanged) which might get handy I guess in the future (I'm not knowledgeable at WCF). Thank you for your time folks, Avi

  • C++/CLI com-Interop: Exposing a reference type property to VBA

    - by Adam
After long hours of investigation on exposing C# property that accepts a reference type to VBA, I concluded that it was not possible. In brief, a C# property that is of type double[] or even an object cannot be consumed in VBA like this: ' Compile Error: Function or interface marked as restricted, ' or the function uses an Automation type not supported in Visual Basic oComExposedEarlyBinding.ObjectArray = VBArray ' Run-time error 424: Object required oComExposedEarlyBinding.PlainObject = VBArray Or for more details: C# property exposed to VBA (COM) : Run-time error '424': Object required I would like to know if C++/CLI would support such an option? i.e. Allowing a reference-type property to be exposed to VBA so that a syntax like the above is valid. N.B. You can achieve this by using late binding, but losing the intellisense is not an option.

  • Javascript clears a variable after there is no further reference it

    - by Praveen Prasad
It is said, javascript clears a variable from memory after its being referenced last. just for the sake of this question i created a JS file with only one variable; //file start //variable defined var a=["Hello"] //refenence to that variable alert(a[0]); // //file end no further reference to that variable, so i expect javascript to clear varaible 'a' Now i just ran this page and then opened firebug and ran this code alert(a[0]); Now this alerts the value of variable, If the statement "Javascript clears a variable after there is no further reference it" is true how come alert() shows its value. Is it because all variable defined in global context become properties of window object, and since even after the execution file window objects exist so does it properties.

  • git pull fails "unalble to resolve reference" "unable to update local ref"

    - by Gabrielle
When I do a git pull I get this error error: unable to resolve reference refs/remotes/origin/LT558-optimize-sql: No such file or directory From git+ssh://remoteserver/~/misk5 ! • Not able to pass multiple override parameters using nose-testconfig 0.6 plugin in nosetests

    - by Jaikit
Hi, I am able to override multiple config parameters using nose-testconfig plugin only if i pass the overriding parameters on commandline. e.g. nosetests -c nose.cfg -s --tc=jack.env1:asl --tc=server2.env2:abc But when I define the same thing inside nose.cfg, than only the value for last parameter is modified. e.g. tc = server2.env2:abc tc = jack.env1:asl I checked the plugin code. It looks fine to me. I am pasting the part of plugin code below: parser.add_option( "--tc", action="append", dest="overrides", default = [], help="Option:Value specific overrides.") configure: if options.overrides: self.overrides = [] overrides = tolist(options.overrides) for override in overrides: keys, val = override.split(":") if options.exact: config[keys] = val else: ns = ''.join(['["%s"]' % i for i in keys.split(".") ]) # BUG: Breaks if the config value you're overriding is not # defined in the configuration file already. TBD exec('config%s = "%s"' % (ns, val)) Let me know if any one has any clue.

  • Rails best practice on conditional parameters in a controller action

    - by randombits
I have a controller create action looks for one or more parameters in the following ruleset. Let's say we have two parameters, foo and bar. The rules are the following: 1) if foo doesn't exist in the parameter list, bar must. 2) if bar doesn't exist in the parameter list, foo must. 3) they can both co-exist. they can't both be omitted (that's redundant with my rules above :) ) Can anyone show an example in Rails on how this is handled in the controller? Should I use a before_filter? Would appreciate some guidance as this isn't something that ActiveRecord validates.. so I'd need to build an error message to the user directly from controller logic, not model logic. For bonus points, I output the error in XML, so if you can show how that's done, that'd be great. Hypothetically let's call the resource "Lorem", so it is created via http://foo/lorem.xml and we have lorem_controller.rb.

  • Visual Studio 2008 Explicit Reference Error

    - by Alan
I have a project which references a dll in the same solution (called "Common"). Common has two types of errors with the same names but different namespaces i.e. Common.Login.UserDeleted Common.Imaging.UserDeleted When I type UserDeleted visual studio recognizes both of these and asks for which it is ("ambiguous reference"). I right-click UserDeleted and select one of the two above, yet it then says that the type or reference doesn't exist! It doesn't make any sense. Why is this happening? I can't compile my program until I find a solution to this, thanks

  • Only variables can be passed by reference

    - by zaf
I had the bright idea of using a custom error handler which led me down a rabbit hole. Following code gives (with and without custom error handler): Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference function foo(){ $b=array_pop(array("a","b","c")); return $b; } print_r(foo()); Following code gives (only with a custom error handler): (2048) Only variables should be passed by reference function foo(){ $a=explode( '/' , 'a/b/c'); $c=array_pop(array_slice($a,-2,1)); return $c; } print_r(foo()); The second one worries me since I have a lot of 'compact' code. So, I either ditch the bright idea of using a custom error handler (to improve my logging module) or expand all my code. Anyone with better ideas? Also, WTF?

  • How to get a reference to IDuplexChannel, IDuplexSessionChannel or IOutputChannel in Wcf

    - by wizlb
I have a duplex Wcf service and I'd like to get a reference to IDuplexChannel, IDuplexSessionChannel or IOutputChannel so that I can use the non-blocking BeginSend method. On my server, inside of the handler for the initiating method I have the following (I have tried every interface that I listed in place of IOutputChannel. None of them seem to exist.) _clientCb = OperationContext.Current.GetCallbackChannel<IDxClientCb>(); _channel = OperationContext.Current.Channel; _duplexChannel = _channel as IOutputChannel; Debug.Print("Service IOutputChannel null: {0}", _duplexChannel == null); Similarly, in the client I have tried to cast the return value of DuplexChannelFactory.CreateChannel() to any of these interfaces and I always get back a null. How do I get a reference to one of these?

  • PHP, include with parameters

    - by chris
hi! I have a PHP-file which will be called from a form. So it gets parameters over $_GET. Now I need the exact same functionality of this file, but not in such a form-call. I will include it in normal code with fixed parameters (which normally come from the form). So my file can work with the form AND without it. I know only the way with include and setting the $_GET in front of it. But I am not sure this is the most elegant way (I dont like the idea of setting things like $_GET). any other ways of doing this? br, chris

  • Contextual bindings with Ninject 2.0

    - by Przemaas
In Ninject 1.0 I had following binding definitions: Bind<ITarget>().To<Target1>().Only(When.Context.Variable("variable").EqualTo(true)); Bind<ITarget>().To<Target2>(); Given such bindings I had calls: ITarget target = kernel.Get<ITarget>(With.Parameters.ContextVariable("variable", true)); ITarget target = kernel.Get<ITarget>(With.Parameters.ContextVariable("variable", false)); First call was resolved to instance of Target1, second call was resolved to instance of Target2. How to translate this into Ninject 2.0?

  • What is your favourite JavaScript reference manual?

    - by daniel.sedlacek
Hi, I come from strong typed unambiguous OOP background and I struggle to find JavaScript reference manual that would fit my needs. The ideal one should be: compendious and handy, I'm not looking for ECMA standart reference. type specific, even if JS is not strong typed function arguments and returns have a type. browser specific, no matter the standards every browser is different and this ambiguity is killing me. examples, they are always handy. off line, this would be fine but it's not a condition. What is your favourite one? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope!

  • Monodevelop: "Are you missing an assembly reference?" despite reference being added

    - by Nicolas Raoul
I have a solution with 3 projects. Two of the projects compile fine: SparkleLib and SparkleLib.Cmis The third project (SparkleShare) depends on the two above, so I added them as references, but I get: The type or namespace name 'Cmis' does not exist in the namespace 'SparkleLib'. Are you missing an assembly reference? The error indicates that I should add SparkleLib.Cmis as a reference, but I already added it... I tried deleteting, re-adding, restarting, but no success. It is not a problem with my environment, as my fellow developers are having the same problem.

  • Storing a reference to an object in C#

    - by Jack
I was wondering how one could store a reference to an object in .net. That is, I would like something like the following code (note, of course, that the following code may be way off from how to actually do it): class Test { private /*reference to*/ Object a; public Test(ref int a) { this.a = a; this.a = ((int)this.a) + 1; } public Object getA() { return this.a; } } /* * ... */ static void Main(string[] args) { int a; a=3; Test t = new Test(ref a); Console.WriteLine(a); Console.WriteLine(t.getA()); Console.ReadKey(); } To produce the following output: 4 4 Ideally, I would like to do this without writing a wrapper class around the integer. In other words, I think I want pointers in .Net.

  • Why does PHP overwrite values when I iterate through this array twice (by reference, by value)

    - by jeremy
If I iterate through an array twice, once by reference and then by value, PHP will overwrite the last value in the array if I use the same variable name for each loop. This is best illustrated through an example: $array = range(1,5); foreach($array as &$element) { $element *= 2; } print_r($array); foreach($array as $element) { } print_r($array); Output: Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 10 ) Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 8 ) Note that I am not looking for a fix, I am looking to understand why this is happening. Also note that it does not happen if the variable names in each loop are not each called $element, so I'm guessing it has to do with $element still being in scope and a reference after the end of the first loop.

  • Passing parameters into ViewModels (Prism)

    - by vXtreme
Hi I can't figure out how to pass parameters to my viewmodels from other views or viewmodels. For instance, I have a View called Customers. There is a grid inside, and if you double-click the grid, a new view is supposed to come up and allow you to edit that customer's data. But how will the View(Model) responsible for editing data know which customer it's supposed to open if I can't pass any parameters inside? EventAggregator is out of the question because I obviously can't create hundreds of eventargs, each for one view. And besides, it's a lousy solution. So far I was able to come up with: CustomerDataView custView = new CustomerDataView(customerId, currentContext); manager.Regions[RegionNames.Sidebar].AddAndActivate(custView); What do you think about this particular solution? Is this the way it's normally done? What I don't like about this is the fact that I lose out on automatic dependency injection by Unity.

  • SQL Server last called stored procedures with parameters

    - by Teoman shipahi
I am using ASP.NET environment. Is it possible to track last N number of stored procedures called with parameters info? I see in this article "Recently executed stored procedures"; http://sqlfool.com/2009/08/find-recently-executed-stored-procedures/ But I need input parameters also. If not what can be the best way to track it? For example, adding an insert statement to a information table for every single procedure beginning? Or is there any better solution for this?
