  • how to set flex combobox cursor position

    I have a combobox implementation as follows - Based on user input (min 2 chars) in the editable combobox, the data provider is refreshed and drop-down opened, showing different data sets as user input varies. Problem is that after drop-down opens, the cursor moves back to the beginning. So for instance, the user types in "ab", and wants to type in "c" to form the search string "abc". Due to the cursor re-setting its position to 0, the search string instead ends up as "cab". Here's what I tried already (doesn't work) : textInput.mx_internal::getTextField().setSelection(index, index); where index = length of user input. This selects text from index to index (which effectively un-selects text) and is supposed to place the cursor at the end. Any thoughts?

    The mark " in Vim takes you to your last cursor position. I want to create an alias that will open my Vim instance and jump to that mark; something which is obviously extremely useful. This works from the command line: $ vim -c "'\"" File.cpp Now I want to make an alias for this: $ alias v='vim -c "'\""' Well that's not going to work! You need to escape the first single quote you say... $ alias v='vim -c "\'\""' Hmm. That didn't work either... So I try a whole lot of variations of single quoted and double quoted madness, bang my head against the table and load up stackoverflow in my browser, and here we are. How do I properly escape this alias?

  • Subview position issue after UIOrientation (rotation) change

    I have a viewController and have added a subview in it programatically. secondView.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth; [self.view addSubview:secondView]; I guess when the device rotates, my mainViewController knows that orientation changed, but the subview (secondView) inside the mainViewController does not know this, so I change its frame to landscape size in willRotateToInterfaceOrientation. secondView.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480 , 260); This does not set in the correct position, it's 11 px below the NavigationBar. Why does it start from 11 px below the navigation bar? The navigation bar shrinks when we move from portrait to landscape mode and its because of this that my subview is 11px below.

  • ie8 playing funny with list-style-position: inside

    Ok, So problem here... when using list-style-position:inside in IE8 the first like is indented but every line after that is not. So the new lines appear under the bullet. This is fine, but when I use a list with that css applied with an a tag within the li then the text automatically gets pushed to the second line, and the first line is empty. When I remove the a tag from the li then it jumps back up. Any idea on why this might be or is this a bug in the ie8 world or do I just need to double check my css? Any insights would be much appreciated.

  • Getting Tap/Touch Position when selecting a TableView cell

    Hi, hope to get some help here because this is something that really makes me mad... I have a view with a tableView, and when I tap a cell I want to present a popOver window pointing the arrow to the cell I tapped. the things that I think I need is: 1- the position of the cell in the screen (not in the view, because on large tables the Y value of the cell's rect could be grater than screen hight) or 2- a CGPoint or something similar that represents the point in the screen I tapped. I can't figured this out, and makes me really mad!!! Any help will very very very very usefull. Have a nice day.

It looks like using the ANSI escape code {ESC}[6n is the only way to get it, for example the following way: # Query the cursor position echo -en '\033[6n' # Read it to a variable read -d R CURCOL # Extract the column from the variable CURCOL="${CURCOL##*;}" # We have the column in the variable echo $CURCOL Unfortunately, this prints characters to the standard output and I want to do it silently. As soon as item goes off-screen it's removed from ObservableCollection. The last thing to do is implementing custom item add behavior (smooth slide-in instead of insert-translateothers behavior). Shall I derive from StackPanel to achieve such effect or just perform DoubleAnimation on currently adding item? Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hi I want to bind a lists position to its own height in XAML. So its lower left corner always will be at 0.0 of the canvas. I'm using elementBinding to get the ActualHeight and a converter to invert the property. But the height sent to the converter is 0.     I have a handler consuming the keyDown event of a WinForms RTB, that has the following code: GetTextAtLoc(RTB->SelectionStart); // selects some text at the caret's position RTB->SelectedText = "SomeOfMyOwn"; GetTextAtLoc(RTB->SelectionStart); // selects the replacement string RTB->SelectionStart += RTB->SelectionLength - 1; While this code seems to do its job (SelectionStart/Length properties are updated correctly), the caret doesn't move to the end of the new string - It says right where it was at the time of GetTextAtLoc's first call. Redrawing the textbox does seem to have any effect either.

    Hi, I have a UITableViewController view a UITableView that I alloc/init with a frame of CGRectZero : self.tableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; I want to add a view at the middle of the tableView (a loading view with a UIActivityIndicatorView and a UILabel), but I don't know how to position it, since I don't know the tableView frame. x = (self.tableview.frame.size.width - loadingView.frame.size.width) / 2.0; y = (self.tableview.frame.size.height - loadingView.frame.size.height) / 2.0; [loadingView setCenter:CGPointMake(x, y)]; I did init my tableView with CGRectZero frame so it can take the whole place available on screen (which it did), but I thought its frame would update or something.     I just made this demo extracting out what I'm trying to accomplish: Autosize Main Content Area I want the pink/yellow area to act according to these rules: Minimum height is the size of its content (which is variable) IF content size is smaller than viewport size Otherwise minimum height is such that it adjusts to fill the window. Checking out the source to that demo, what am I missing? I feel like this is a pretty easy case that shouldn't require javascript. Any ideas?

  • Pre-crash iphone symptoms - odd user position, volume change

    I'm seeing intermittent strange symtoms in my app: Blue blob (user position in MKMapView) starts "exploding" (odd, jerky animation). Can begin at startup and seems to indicate eventual problems. Speaker volume suddenly increases (back to level before I invoked kAudioSessionSetProperty_OtherMixableAudioShouldDuck). The app keeps running, but this change tells me to expect no more sounds from AVAudioPlayer. Also a reliable indicator of a future crash (on save, etc). I'm having trouble provoking this in the debugger (seems to only happen with movement in GPS). Any ideas to track it down?

  • Flex redrawing background when Scrolling, degrafa: How ?.

    Hi Everyone, I am using a canvas which has a degrafa background, so far so good. However when scrolling apears the background (degrafa grid) does not get redrawn. In the code the bg strokes are linked to the container height. The thing is container.height does not change even when scrolling.   • Retrieving Gtk::Widget's relative position: get_allocation() doesn't work

    I need to retrieve the position of a Gtk::Widget relative to its parent, a Gtk::Table. Most sources (e.g. http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk-faq/stable/x642.html) say that one needs to call Gtk::Widget::get_allocation(). However, the returned Gtk::Allocation object always contains x = -1, y = -1, width = 1, height = 1. I have to note that this happens before the Gtk::Table object is actually exposed and rendered. A call to show_all_children() or check_resize(), which I would expect to recalculate child widget geometry, doesn't help. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

  • How to position an element so that it does not flow off the visible screen

    I am creating pseudo-tooltips on a page that has a lot of "a" and "span" elements that have these tips associated with them. Everything in the creation of the element is fine, and it displays fine. However, since this is a page with a lot of data, as you get towards the bottom of the visual area the tooltips start to flow past the bottom edge of the window. My initial attempt to compensate for this with window.innerWidth/innerHeight didn't come out too well. I'm using jQuery for DOM manipulation (but not jQuery UI). Given the event itself, and the height and width of the tooltip (which I can get with getBoundingClientRect()), how can I position this element so that the bottom of the tooltip is never below the edge of the window?

  • internet explorer 7 iframe unloads when going back

    Hi this is my first post here, so please be kind ;-) i'm implementing a browser history manager, just like rsh or yui browser history manager. The idea was not to constantly poll the url hash of a hidden iframe, but to capture the onscroll event of an iframe, when it scrolls to an anchor name on an urlhashchange. So on every click i add an new anchor to iframe and set the iframe's hash to the anchors name. When pressing the back or forward button the frame scrolls to the previous or next anchor and the onscroll event is fired. That works great on firefox 3.0+, IE6 and Opera but on IE7 when hiting the back button the frame unloads and loses all its anchors.     Hi everyone, I’ve two div boxes that I’m using as a expand-collapse with some javascript but the problem is that they currently are align underneath each other. I would like to have them next to each other instead but I’ve run into a wall.     Can someone show me how to get the .top & .left position of a div or span tag when one is not specified? ie: <span id='11a' style='top:55px;' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> <span id='12a' onmouseover="GetPos(this);">stuff</span> In the above, if i do: document.getElementById('11a').style.top The the value of 55px is returned. However if i try that for span '12a', then nothing gets returned. I have a bunch of div/spans on a page that i cannot specify the top/left properties for, but i need to display a div directly under that element. Thanks for lookin :-)
