  • Two "search" entries in resolv.conf

    I am using 12.04 and have a problem with my resolv.conf There are 2 search lines there. But I can only explain one. I would like to get the other one removed. carsten@myubuntubox:~$ cat /etc/resolv.conf # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN nameserver 127.0.0.1 search aaaa.bbb.example.net search something nameserver 1.2.3.4 nameserver 1.2.3.5 I can't explain the search aaaa.bbb.example.net Where does it come from? The last 3 lines (like I want come from /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail This is good. But where is the other search line coming from? In /etc/dhcp/dhclient I removed the requests for domain-name-servers, domain-search, but the lines are still in there. Should I remove the dhcp6.domain-search as well?

  • Where did the text of my .html file go in text edit on mac. [closed]

    I recently created a .html file in text edit on my mac (os x 10.5.8). I then opened that .html file in my browser and it showed the page i created just fine. I closed the .html file and text edit and refreshed the page. It still worked fine. Then i opened up the .html file in text edit again and all the text was gone (the page in the browser still works fine though). Where did all the text go?

  • String Occurance Counting Algorithm

    Hello, I am curious what is the most efficient algorithm (or commonly used) to count the number of occurances of a string in a chunck of text. From what I read, Boyer–Moore string search algorithm is the standard for string search but I am not sure if counting occurance in an efficient way would be same as searching a string. In python this is what I want: text_chunck = "one two three four one five six one" occurance_count(text_chunck, "one") # gives 3. Regards EDIT: It seems like python str.count serves me such method however I am not able to find what algorithm it uses.

  • Trouble shooting openGL text textures not showing up correctly cross platform

    I have been tasked with solving a problem that is outside of my domain of knowledge and I was hoping I could get some troubleshooting advice from someone more experienced with openGL (I have very little experience with openGL). We are working on a cross platform application that is implemented in a common lisp implementation called ccl. In this application we have a need to display some 3D objects that display text. On the mac, all of the text displays fine but on the PC instead of displaying the text it displays some other texture. At first I thought that maybe the wrong texture was just being referenced so I tried changing the texture number but none of the textures in the list appeared to be the text (or if it was the texture was distorted and did not look like text). I know this problem is very vague and I am not looking for someone to post a solution, but I was wondering if people could suggest places I might look to try and get a handle on this issue.

    I've trying to do something that I'm sure is simple, but I can't do it. All I want to do is have an image and then some text after that image, and be able to control accurately the amount of space between the image and the text. Here's my code: http://pastebin.com/fx17XUaR I couldn't work out how to paste it in here directly. In my style sheet, wrap has these attributes: .wrap { //text-align: left; width: 1100px; height: 870px; background-color: white; color: black; padding: 10px; margin: auto; I want my text to look like this directly below the image: Username Age Location Currently, I just add loads of break tags to control where I have the text, but that's messy and there must be a better way.     In a DrScheme project, I'm using a MrEd editor-canvas% with text% and inserting a string from a literal in a Scheme file. This results in an extra blank line in the editor for each line of text I'm trying to insert. Is this a Windows vs. Unix linebreak problem? I know we can use Google Site Search (http://www.google.com/sitesearch/ but it has an annual fee. So... I want to define category order and in search results will be sorted for this order and in category order will be date DESC. Only posts (no categories) will be visible. Anybody have any idea?

    I found this command line search and replace example: find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 sed -i 's/find/replace/g' It worked fine except it changed the date and file ownership on EVERY file it searched through, even those that did not contain the search text. Say I have the following tables: Car with columns: id (int - pk), makeid (fk), description (nvarchar), year (int), features (int - bitwise value - 32 features only) CarMake with columns: id (int - pk), mfgname (nvarchar) CarFeatures with columns: id (int - 1, 2, 4, 8, etc.), featurename (nvarchar) If someone searches "red honda civic 2002 4 doors", how would I parse the input string so that I could also search in the "CarMake" and "CarFeatures" tables?

    Hello, I'm trying to build a facebook like search for my software. I'd like to query the table customers. I've set up a FULLTEXT Index and tried the next query SELECT * FROM Customer where CONTAINS(*,'*ann*') The query does return all the customers named Ann, but it doesn't return all the customers name Anne. Is there a way to create prefix search on SQL SERVER 2008 using FTS? Thanks.
