I put everything in order today and i can hear people talk when i'm logged in through Ventrilo, however, i get no game sounds or music playing from anything else. Are there motherboards that have been shown to support ECC RAM (and which particular models?) and also USB 3.0? I've read that there are such chipsets with ECC support, but motherboard manufacturers won't guarantee they work, or won't even offer the required BIOS options.

• USB mouse shuts down the laptop!

  For the past two days, whenever I plug in my USB mouse (which has been working for a long time, previously) into the laptop, my computer restarts! I tried changing mice, but the same thing happens. I have 3 ports, usually, I try one port and the laser does not come on, then I try another one and the laser comes and and off, then I again take out and put it in any port and the damn thing just turns off the computer.   I have a Dell 2155CDN Multifunction printer that is hooked up through our network. But when using the scan feature, it is terribly slow, and I assume it has something to do with it scanning through the network port. Is it possible to leave the printer hooked up across the network, but also attach it to a computer via USB just for the scanner? Or would doing this confuse the printer not knowing which port to use for each feature?

  Can anyone recommend a USB 3.0 adapter for my older Dell server? It does not have PCI express (PCIe) so I was looking for PCI or PCIX. I have been burned in the past installing "desktop" class drives on servers (i.e. blue screens under heavy load) so I would rather pay more to get something reliable. We are hoping to get better speed on our backups to an external drive, even 10% improvement would be worth it.

Anyway, on inserting the stick into my linux machine, the file I was working on shows up, but it is completely empty (0KB).
