  Customers who have run the Upgrade Wage Attachments process after applying the 2012 RUP are reporting errors similar to those listed below when either running a quickpay or processing a payroll for employee(s) with involuntary deductions. Error: HR_51118_HRPROC_ERR_ON_ASG ASGNO 1115 APP-PAY-51118: Error was encountered when processing assignment 1115 HR_51119_HRPROC_ERR_OCC_ON_ET ETNAME: Garnishment 3 APP-PAY-51119: Error was encountered when processing Element Type Garnishment 3 HR_6881_HRPROC_ORA_ERR SQLERRMC ORA-01403: No data found SQL_NO 520 TABLE_NAME pay_input_values_f APP-PAY-06881:Error ORA-01403: no data found has occured in table pay_input_values_f at location 520 This issue was logged in Bug 14679161 - QUICK PAY ERROR AFTER RUP (2012) AND WAGE ATTACHMENT UPGRADE APP-PAY-06881.   If you look at http://www.cruc.es/?paged=12/ and go to the bottom of the page you'll see the bottom navigation with the next and previous options. I've been able to make the page numbers work by changing page to paged= in the code. I don't know enough about PHP to get the previous/next options to work. Any advice would be appreciated and I've pasted the code below. It certaining looks like it, here's a brief overview on SharePoint support in Visual Studio 2012. Load testing – We now support load testing for SharePoint out of the box. This is more involved than you might imagine due to how dynamic SharePoint is. You can’t just record a script and play it back – it won’t work because SharePoint generates and expects dynamic data (like GUIDs). We’ve built the extensions to our load testing solution to parse the dynamic SharePoint data and include it appropriately in subsequent requests. So now you can record a script and play it back and we will dynamically adjust it to match what SharePoint expects.Unit testing – One of the big problems with unit testing SharePoint is that most code requires SharePoint to be running and trying to run tests against a live SharePoint instance is a pain. In this posting I will go step further and I will show you how code contracts work in the case of inherited classes. As a first thing let’s take a look at my interface and code contracts. Code contracts inheritance is powerful and at same time dangerous feature. Although you can always narrow down the conditions that come from more general classes it is possible to define impossible or conflicting contracts at different points in inheritance hierarchy.

• Issue While uploading a image to share point 2010 picture library.

  I was trying to upload a image to my picture library using sharepoint client object model. I Used the code from the below blog to upload a file to my picture library. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sridhara/archive/2010/03/12/uploading-files-using-client-object-model-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx The image got uploaded sucessfully. But when we took the relative url to update in a different list, we were getting empty image symbol. After a lot of analysis we figured out that the issue was with the file we uploaded. An image file which is of jpeg quality was uploaded to an application with giff extension. Try this. Copy a JPG file from net and save it to your file system. Change the extension of the file from jpg to giff. When you change the file extension the image quality remains same but it will open in picture viewers. Upload the file to your picture library. Once uploaded you will get the file listed as thumbail in your picture library. Click on the thumbnail image it will open up a page showing a larger image with file details. Now click either on the image or the file name hyper link, it will open up an empty page with default no image symbol. I wasted a lot of time on this figuring out the issue, so thought of sharing here. Hope this helps some one.

• When was sys.dm_os_wait_stats last cleared?

  The sys.dm_os_wait_stats DMV provides essential metrics for diagnosing SQL Server performance problems. Returning incrementally accumulating information about all the completed waits encountered by executing threads it is a useful way to identify bottlenecks such as IO latency issues or waits on locks. The counters are reset each time SQL server is restarted, or when the following command is run: DBCC SQLPERF ('sys.dm_os_wait_stats', CLEAR); To make sense out of these wait values you need to know how they change over time. Suppose you are asked to troubleshoot a system and you don't know when the wait stats were last zeroed. Is there any way to find the elapsed time since this happened? If the wait stats were not cleared using the DBCC SQLPERF command then you can simply correlate the stats with the time SQL Server was started using the sqlserver_start_time column introduced in SQL Server 2008 R2: SELECT sqlserver_start_time from sys.dm_os_sys_info However how do you tell if someone has run DBCC SQLPERF ('sys.dm_os_wait_stats', CLEAR) since the server was started, and if they did, when? Without this information the initial, or historical, wait_stats have less value until you can measure deltas over time. There is a way to at least estimate when the stats were last cleared, by using the wait stats themselves and choosing a thread that spends most of its time sleeping. A good candidate is the SQL Trace incremental flush task, which mostly sleeps (in 4 second intervals) and in between it attempts to flush (if there are new events – which is rare when only default trace is running) – so it pretty much sleeps all the time. Hence the time it has spent waiting is very close to the elapsed time since the counter was reset. Credit goes to Ivan Penkov in the SQLOS dev team for suggesting this. Increasingly, DRM is also being utilized by Oracle customers for reference data management, an emerging solution space that deserves some explanation. What is reference data? Reference data is a close cousin of master data. While master data may be more rapidly changing, requires consensus building across stakeholders and lends structure to business transactions, reference data is simpler, more slowly changing, but has semantic content that is used to categorize or group other information assets – including master data – and give them contextual value. The following table contains an illustrative list of examples of reference data by type. Reference data types may include types and codes, business taxonomies, complex relationships & cross-domain mappings or standards. Sample Use Cases of Reference Data Management Healthcare: Diagnostic Codes The reference data challenges in the healthcare industry offer a case in point. Part of being HIPAA compliant requires medical practitioners to transition diagnosis codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10, a medical coding scheme used to classify diseases, signs and symptoms, causes, etc. The transition to ICD-10 has a significant impact on business processes, procedures, contracts, and IT systems. Since both code sets ICD-9 and ICD-10 offer diagnosis codes of very different levels of granularity, human judgment is required to map ICD-9 codes to ICD-10. The process requires collaboration and consensus building among stakeholders much in the same way as does master data management. Moreover, to build reports to understand utilization, frequency and quality of diagnoses, medical practitioners may need to “cross-walk” mappings -- either forward to ICD-10 or backwards to ICD-9 depending upon the reporting time horizon. Spend Management: Product, Service & Supplier Codes Similarly, as an enterprise looks to rationalize suppliers and leverage their spend, conforming supplier codes, as well as product and service codes requires supporting multiple classification schemes that may include industry standards (e.g., UNSPSC, eCl@ss) or enterprise taxonomies. Aberdeen Group estimates that 90% of companies rely on spreadsheets and manual reviews to aggregate, classify and analyze spend data, and that data management activities account for 12-15% of the sourcing cycle and consume 30-50% of a commodity manager’s time. Creating a common map across the extended enterprise to rationalize codes across procurement, accounts payable, general ledger, credit card, procurement card (P-card) as well as ACH and bank systems can cut sourcing costs, improve compliance, lower inventory stock, and free up talent to focus on value added tasks. Specialty Finance: Point of Sales Transaction Codes and Product Codes In the specialty finance industry, enterprises are confronted with usury laws – governed at the state and local level – that regulate financial product innovation as it relates to consumer loans, check cashing and pawn lending. To comply, it is important to demonstrate that transactions booked at the point of sale are posted against valid product codes that were on offer at the time of booking the sale. Since new products are being released at a steady stream, it is important to ensure timely and accurate mapping of point-of-sale transaction codes with the appropriate product and GL codes to comply with the changing regulations. Multi-National Companies: Industry Classification Schemes As companies grow and expand across geographies, a typical challenge they encounter with reference data represents reconciling various versions of industry classification schemes in use across nations. While the United States, Mexico and Canada conform to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) standard, European Union countries choose different variants of the NACE industry classification scheme. Multi-national companies must manage the individual national NACE schemes and reconcile the differences across countries. Enterprises must invest in a reference data change management application to address the challenge of distributing reference data changes to downstream applications and assess which applications were impacted by a given change.

• Windows Phone 7 : Dragging and flicking UI controls

  Who would want to flick and drag UI controls!? There might not be many use cases but I think some concepts here are worthy of a post. So we will create a simple silverlight application for windows phone 7, containing a canvas element on which we’ll place a button control and an image and then, as the title says, drag and flick the controls. After creating the button and setting its height and width, its background is set to a linear gradient brush. The direction of the gradient is from top towards bottom and notice that the second stop color is the PhoneAccentColor, which changes along with the theme of the device. The line,     stop2.Color = (Application.Current.Resources["PhoneAccentBrush"] as SolidColorBrush).Color; does the magic of extracting the PhoneAccentBrush from application’s resources, getting its color and assigning it to the gradient stop. We need to scale down these values so they can be used to increment the ui control’s position sensibly. A reference to the ui control is stored in ElemToMove and the velocities are stored as well, these will be used in the timer callback to access the ui control. And finally, we start the timer. Check for bounds, and if the control goes out of bounds we reverse its velocity. Towards the end, the velocities are reduced by 10% every time the timer callback is called, and if the velocities reach too low values the timer is stopped and ElemToMove is made null.
