  • UTF-8 character encoding in Java

    Hello, I am having some problems getting some French text to convert to UTF8 so that it can be displayed properly, either in a console, text file or in a GUI element. The original string is HANDICAP+ES which is supposed to be HANDICAPÉES No matter how I tried converting it, it appears the same way. Any ideas on how I can do this conversion? Thanks, Cam

  • Compatibility between Qt and Boost sockets libraries

    Hello In my work, I'm developing a Viewer client for a Offshore simulation server, using sockets to send the simulation data from the Simulator to de Viewer. But, the server uses Boost.asio as it's sockets library. As the client uses Qt for it's GUI, I was wondering if there is any problem in using de Qt Networking library for handling the sockets.     Right now I am writing a simulation program which output is formatted according to certain factors. The question is in a MVC architecture, where is the conditional formatting to be taken place? What are some strategies for implement this feature? FYI, The platform I am using is rather bare-bone in its GUI/front-end execution. To change color and formatting, it requires a change to the formatting state (much like OpenGL).

    i decompiled an Android .apk file using dex2jar, grabbed the java source files using jd-gui "File Save All Sources" and got a .zip file and the java files within. I did exactly the steps in this "guide": http://a4apphack.com/security/sec-code/extract-android-apk-from-market-and-decompile-it-to-java-source. Then i made some changes in a couple of the java files, now i am wondering how i can recreate an apk file. Decompiling with apktool, backsmali and smali tools work with .smali files, but now i have .java files...

I am running Mac OS X version 10.6.3 Gitnub version 0.9.1 I have copied the GitNub.app to my applications folder and created a new folder under /usr/local/ called "bin" to put the 'nub' executable inside of it.

    I want to know the physical video ram size in my application. I can get the same information of Nvidia card by using "nvidia-settings -q -t VideoRam". I can use amdcccle to find this information, but it's an GUI app, so can't be used in my application. I wonder if there is a way to get this by command, function, or config file? I'm using RHEL 5.4.

    I have a problem using a Resources.resx - Resources.de.resx - combination in a C#/WPF project. The whole solutions contains several projects and some projects contains resource files. When starting the main project I can switch the language successfully from english to german. But the GUI elements from the sub projects still show the english text. I used Eclipse's WSDL GUI Editor to generate a WSDL file (CalculatorWSDL.wsdl) which uses the SOAP method for communication. I also used wsdl.exe to generate a C# file (Calculator.cs). Now, I'm not sure what to do next. How do I actually use the Calculator.cs on the server and/or client?
