Hi,
I have a method which handles a set of records.This method,return true\false after processing.So,if all the records are processed(doing some db updates),will return true.Now,suppose after processing 1 record,some exception is thrown,should I write result=false(at the end of method result is returned) in catch block? And,allow processing of other records to be done?
Here i have installed
widows server 2008 64
orale 11g r2 64
now i want to access this from the ip address that i have set to my server not
working i can't access trough the ip address....
when i use on my application .....local host it can get connected but
when i add the ip for example 10.0.0.2 it's not connecting
now simply also on local when i write the ip address it's not connecting
but with localhost works fine.....
so even i have used listener.

Hello, I have recently started to develop applications for iPhone with MonoTouch and have to store user names and passwords on the phone. I want to use the keychain for this but can't find anything in the MonoTouch documentation about it. Is it possible to use it directly with MonoTouch or will I have to write some C++/C/Objective-C code that uses the keychain and export it to MonoTouch?
Hi,
I am a novice with Websphere MQ and require some novice help.
I am using Websphere MQ Explorer to connect to a queue but do not know how to write the connection string. I have all the details (host, port, channel, queue manager name) but do not know how to put them together correctly as a connection string.
Can any help this novice?
Thanks
I remember reading a paper a long time ago that talked about object-oriented programming. I believe that this was from the early 1980s or perhaps even before then.
This was at the time when object-oriented programming was still done through pre-processors, and one thing that stuck with me is this: it argued that you could write code in either procedural or object-oriented fashion, and after preprocessing/compiling, you would end up with the exact same machine code.
Does anybody know which paper I'm talking about?
Hello,
I have written the Dijkstra's algorithm many times in C++ - I need there set or priotity_queue, both give me possibility to add an element and find the least one (using specified comparator). Now, I've got a problem when trying to write Dijkstra in C# - is there any structure which could be useful for me? I need adding and finding or erasing the least element.
Using Visual Studio '08
I want to be able to do logging in every catch block. Something like this.
catch (Exception exception)
{
Logger.Write(exception);
}
and then the settings in the configuration will pick up the Message and StackTrace property etc using customer listener.
I would like to use Enterprise Library Logging Application Block. I'm sure someone must have done this already.
Hi,
I am looking for a C++ library for image processing. I need the library to threshold a PPM photo (color photo). Should I write my own code? what do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
Is there a program out there or some other thing that will run some kind of virtualization for me or something, to test the hardware minimums for a program I write? Something I can do locally without install testing on, say, a 33 mhz 64kb ram IBM or something
I'd like to write a test script or program that asserts that all dlls in a given directory are of a particular build type.
I would use this as a sanity check at the end of a build process on an sdk to make sure that the 64bit version hasn't somehow got some 32bit dlls in it and vice versa.
Is there an easy way to look at a dll file and determine its type?
The solution should work on both xp32 and xp64.
I'm trying to figure out if
g++ -fsyntax-only
does only syntax checking or if it expands templates too.
Thus, I ask stack overflow for help:
is there to write a program so that syntactically it's valid, but when template expansion is done, an error occurs?
Thanks!
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to make a "link" in usr/bin (i.e.) that leads to a shell-script.
But I want just to write
% shellscript
instead of
% sh shellscript.sh
kinda like an alias.
Is this possible?
I have a dead simple progress "bar" using something like the following:
import sys
from time import sleep
current = 0
limit = 50
while current <= limit:
sys.stdout.write('\rSynced %s/%s orders' % (current, limit))
current_order += 1
sleep(1)
Works fine, except over ssh with Putty. Putty only updates every 3 minutes or if a line ends with \n. Is this a Putty setting, sshd_config, or can I code around it?
I have a DataGridView which is filling from Table in SQL Server Database. One of it's columns is "price".
Type of column in DGV is automatically sets as Decimal.
In some cases I need to write in cells of this column text like "none", instead of price.
How can I do it?
DGV.Item("price", 0).Value = "none"
doesn't work, because of decimal type of a cell.
Currently I monitoring a particular file with a simple shell one-liner:
filesize=$(ls -lah somefile | awk '{print $5}')
I'm aware that Perl has some nice modules to deal with Excel files so the idea is to, let's say, run that check daily, perhaps with cron, and write the result on a spreadsheet for further statistical use.
I'm writing a C++ app.
I have a class variable that more than one thread is writing to.
In C++, anything that can be modified without the compiler "realizing" that it's being changed needs to be marked volatile right? So if my code is multi threaded, and one thread may write to a var while another reads from it, do I need to mark the var volaltile?
[I don't have a race condition since I'm relying on writes to ints being atomic]
Thanks!
Is there any handy tool that can make updating tables easier? Usually I got an Excel file with the original value in one column and new value in another column. Then I write a formula in Excel to create the 'update' statement. Is there any way to simplify the updating task?
I believe the approach in SQL server 2000 and 2005 would be different, so could we discuss them both? Thanks.
I am using the Android NDK to make an application primarily in C for performance reasons, but it appears that file operations such as fopen do not work correctly in Android. Whenever I try to use these functions, the application crashes.
How do I create/write to a file with the Android NDK?
I'm creating a sql based procedure which can
Accept a table
load the values one at a time
send the variables to a remote API
Record the response of the API
Write the response to a table for viewing later
I have successfully implemented 1,2, and 5. I am hoping there may be some way of choosing an address to contact and for SQL to listen too for a response. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Is there an easy way to configure in a build process to write in the time stamp of the build to be displayed in the application to have something like "This page was last updated: 06/26/2010"
Is it possible to make cross browser rendering site without using CSS reset?

Hello,
For a Facebook-like site, ie. which is write-intensive and delivers user-customized pages, I'd like to build a prototype to investigate whether the document-centric NoSQL architecture would be a good alternative to sharding and reduce the load on the single master (+ multiple slaves) that we currently use and is the bottleneck.
Does someone know of a good article that would give actual, simple examples of going from a relational layout in MySQL to a NoSQL layout?
Thank you.
Ey guys, I have been searching for some sample code on how to store an NSArray in Core Data for awhile now, but haven't had any luck. Would anyone mind pointing me to some tutorial or example, or better yet write a simple sample as an answer to this question? I have read this but it doesn't show an example of how to go about implementing a transformable attribute that is an NSArray. Thanks in advance!
