  • How can I spoof a jndi lookup for a datasource without a app server

    - by Wiszh
I want to test some new functionality which is part of an internal web app. This new code uses a database connection normally provided by an app server (tomcat). I do not want to recreate the entire web app on my local machine to test the new code, since I only need to run one function. Does anyone know how I can 'spoof' a Context, or Datasource, to retrieve the database config, without actually creating a web app instance on a server? Thanks

  • Unable to deploy WAR file to Websphere using IBM Rational Application Developer

    - by Matt1776
Hello - I am using the IBM RAD IDE and building a dynamic web project. When I build the project and attempt to add it to the server by selecting 'add or remove projects' I get the response that there are no projects to add or remove. Does this mean I will have to create a EAR file (J2EE Project) and add my web project to it in order to deploy to the local WAS? Might I be missing some essential configuration?

  • How to determine which my.cnf mysql is using

    - by japancheese
Hello, Is there a way I can figure out which my.cnf mysql is currently using? The reason is because it's using the correct socket file to connect, but I can't figure out exactly which (if any) my.cnf it's using or trying to use so I can manually set the correct path on my local machine.

  • Can you select which column to sync with Sync Framework

    - by pdiddy
I notice that with MS Sync, going through the wizard to create the WCF service that will do the sync, you can only choose which table to sync. Is it possible to only sync a few columns of the table and not the entire table? It will also create the local sdf file with the whole table structure. I only need a few columns of the table to be displayed in my mobile device.

  • How to get a OAuth token for Google Buzz using username and password without showing Googles login p

    - by Witek
To read Google Buzz activities, an authorization token is required. A web application would redirect to Googles login page, where the user logs in and a token is returned back to the web application. But I have a local Java application without a UI (like a script). This application knows username and password. How to get an authorization token, using this username and password, without presenting the Google login page?

  • Is the Angular templateCache shared between apps? Is it persistent?

    - by alexp
If I have two Angular apps that run on the same domain, will/can they share data in the templateCache? Or is the cache unique to each main application module? In general I'm trying to understand what dictates when a new templateCache is created. Furthermore I'm not clear on whether or in what way the templateCache is persistent? Looking in local storage and cookies, I don't see where anything is getting stored.

  • Switching main view in WPF

    - by mico
I know it might be silly, I have just started with WPF. I want to switch to a different view when a user clicks on a control, for example showing a detail page after a click on a list. This view would replace the original. In a web application this would be navigating to a different page. What is the local idiom for that?

  • Processing incoming emails on Heroku

    - by Jerry Cheung
For my side project kwiqi, I use ActionMailer's 'receive' method to process incoming email messages for tracking my expenses. Heroku doesn't have a local mail server running that same code will not work. One solution I've thought of is to periodically hit a controller action that will pull messages from Gmail. Are there other solutions that are reasonable? Is anyone processing incoming emails in Heroku?

  • If I write an algorithm to encrypt a file, are their tools available to break the encryption?

    - by Andrew
I have an idea for encryption that I could program fairly easily to encrypt some local text file. Given that my approach is novel, and does not use any of the industry standard encryption techniques, would I be able to test the strength of my encryption using 'cracker' apps or suchlike? Or do all those tools rely on advanced knowledge of the encryption process (or intercepted 'keys'), meaning I'd have to build my own cracker for testing?
