• Displaying Photos on iPhone

  Hi all, I'm working on an iPhone app and I need to be able to display images to users. I have already gotten the code that takes the photo and stores it into the filesystem working well. Now I just need to figure out how to display the image. I've looked at the Three20 project I've read about on a few of the posts here, but it seems a bit cumbersome and like an extra dependency to import link and combine all of the Three20 library into my little app. Are there any other ways or a more streamlined library that will let me display photos to my users?   Export to Excel from dataset with out using htmltextwriter Hey, I'm having an issue occuring when I want to import data back into a table from a file. My export creates a file successfully as a .xls file. However, my contents for the file are being written as standard html table as seen below rather than the file content that normal excel files are saved in. The issue I have now is this. I need to take this file along with whatever changes or additions that were made by an end user and upload it back to a table in SQL Server. The error I get is: External table is not in the expected format.

  Hello, I am trying to get the code to list all the directories in a folder, change directory into that folder and get the name of the current folder. The code I have so far is below and isn't working at the minute. I seem to be getting the parent folder name. import os for directories in os.listdir(os.getcwd()): dir = os.path.join('/home/user/workspace', directories) os.chdir(dir) current = os.path.dirname(dir) new = str(current).split("-")[0] print new I also have other files in the folder but I do not want to list them. • Is there a way to catch a MOUSE_UP Event over a static textfield in Flash?

  When the user presses the mouse, and releases it over a static textfield with selectable text, no MOUSE_UP event is fired - not on the stage and also nowhere else. I experienced this when using a scrollbar class on a movieclip with a nested static textfield. When the user drags the scroll handle and releases the mouse over the textfield, the dragging/scrolling is stuck. To test this, create a new AS3 fla file, place a static textfield somewhere, and put in some text. Make sure the selectable property is checked in the properties panel. Add this script to the timeline: import flash.events.* function down(event:Event):void { trace('down'); } function up(event:Event):void { trace('up'); } stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, down) stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, up) Now test the movie and click the mouse. You will notice that trace('up') will not occur when you release the mouse over the textfield.

• magic records being deleted

  i have customised oscommerce to pull in a csv file of products, delete anything thats not with an image/proper description/proper title gets removed. The import runs on a cron job basis pulling information from a supplier, it hasnt run since yesterday but a product has disappeared- Anyone who has used oscommerce will know that, product information is stored over multiple tables. example is- products product_description and so on. the thing that has got me that the information is deleted from the product table but not from the product_description table. The product that is being deleted is a manually input one which carries a special tag/prefix on the model item of the product table. Therefore shouldn't be touched at all. Am clueles as what is going on. Is there mysql integrity checks deleting records? could there be another plugin working on oscommerce?

  Hi all, I'm working on a music app' in Python and would like to use the fractions module to handle time signatures amongst other things. My problem is that fractions get simplified, i.e.: >>> from fractions import Fraction >>> x = Fraction(4, 4) >>> x Fraction(1, 1) However, it is important from a musical point of view that 4/4 stays 4/4 even though it equals 1.   I am struggling with some minor layout changes in vaadin which has to be done on Java AND Css side. Everytime I need to adjust a layout thing like padding-top, background color or bold text of one component I need to set the style via Java code too: userLink.setStyleName("textbold"); The changes in my styles.css (under VAADIN/themes/app/) would then be: @import "../runo/styles.css"; .textbold { font-weight: bold; } ... Is this the correct way of changing the CSS or is there another way? Can I do this without affecting the Java code?

• How do I sync Dreamweaver site definitions across 2 computers?

  I use Dreamweaver on my laptop and Desktop PC and frequently change between them. I keep all my sites synced using Syncplicity (similar to Dropbox, which indecently I also use) I want my site definitions to be synced across the two computers. If I add a new site on one computer I want it to appear on the other one. I know I can export all sites on one computer and then get Syncplicity to sync the files to the other computer at which point I can import them. However this relies on me remembering to do this each time I add a new site, and it's also quite time consuming. As far as I can tell, Dreamweaver (at least upto CS4- not sure about CS5) stupidly stores the site definitions in the registry. I really don't know why they do this- if they stored it in xml files then I could easily sync the information. Does anyone know if what I am asking is possible?

However i want to import some of the classes into the JSP's so i moved all the classes and servelts into a new package called Driver. I did not change any code anywhere, just moved it into a new package. The application compiles just fine. • Play Shoutcast MP3 radio stream with Python?

  I have managed to create an online radio station using Shoutcast and Sam Broadcaster. Now, I am wanting to build my own player for that radio station. I am not sure where to begin, I have googled, but no luck. I am using Python 2.6 on Microsoft Windows. I have managed to capture the stream and save it as an MP# on the hard disk, just not sure what to do with it next. I tried playback of the file, but it always pulls up errors. • How can I extend a LinkButton to allow HTML text in Flex?

  I am feeding the label to my LinkButton directly from a string I receive from a Google API that puts html to format the label. I want to extend linkbutton to allow this. I wrote a class myself to allow html text for the label and that aspect of it works but now the background that appears when you hover is way too big. I tried to override measure() to fix this but I didn't have a clue how. • wxHaskell on OS X

  I want to use wxHaskell on OS X (Snow Leopard, MacBook Pro). I was able to install the library successfully and the script below: module Main where import Graphics.UI.WX main :: IO () main = start hello hello :: IO () hello = do f <- frame [text := "Hello!"] quit <- button f [text := "Quit", on command := close f] set f [layout := widget quit] does result in a window being displayed with a single button, as specified. However, nothing happens when I click the button - I don't even get the visual response of the button turning blue to indicate that it's been depressed (haha, no pun intended). I've heard that you have to run a package called "macosx-app" on wxHaskell binaries to get them to run, but I can't find this anywhere. It's not on my machine or (as far as I can tell) in the WX or wxHaskell distros. Anyone know what I need to do to get this to work?

  I realize that the method run() must be declared because its declared in the Runnable interface. But my question comes when this class runs how is the Thread object allowed if there is no import call to a particular package? how does runnable know anything about Thread or its methods? does the Runnable interface extend the Thread class? • [Python] How can I speed up unpickling large objects if I have plenty of RAM?

  It's taking me up to an hour to read a 1-gigabyte NetworkX graph data structure using cPickle (its 1-GB when stored on disk as a binary pickle file). Note that the file quickly loads into memory. In other words, if I run: import cPickle as pickle f = open("bigNetworkXGraph.pickle","rb") binary_data = f.read() # This part doesn't take long graph = pickle.loads(binary_data) # This takes ages How can I speed this last operation up? Note that I have tried pickling the data both in using both binary protocols (1 and 2), and it doesn't seem to make much difference which protocol I use. Also note that although I am using the "loads" (meaning "load string") function above, it is loading binary data, not ascii-data. I have 128gb of RAM on the system I'm using, so I'm hoping that somebody will tell me how to increase some read buffer buried in the pickle implementation.

• How do I keep a scanner from throwing exceptions when the wrong type is entered? (java)

  Here's some sample code: import java.util.Scanner; class In { public static void main (String[]arg) { Scanner in = new Scanner (System.in) ; System.out.println ("how many are invading?") ; int a = in.nextInt() ; System.out.println (a) ; } } if i run the program and give it an int like 4then everything goes fine. if, on the other hand, i answer too many it doesn't laugh at my funny joke. instead i get this: (as expected) Exception in thread "main" java.util.InputMismatchException at java.util.Scanner.throwFor(Scanner.java:819) at java.util.Scanner.next(Scanner.java:1431) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Scanner.java:2040) at java.util.Scanner.nextInt(Scanner.java:2000) at In.main(In.java:9) is there a way so that i can make it so that it either ignores entries that aren't ints or re prompts with "how many are invading?"? i'd like to know how to do both of these.
