• How to reduce compile time with C++ templates

  I'm in the process of changing part of my C++ app from using an older C type array to a templated C++ container class. See this question for details. While the solution is working very well, each minor change I make to the templated code causes a very large amount of recompilation to take place, and hence drastically slows build time. Is there any way of getting template code out of the header and back into a cpp file, so that minor implementation changes don't cause major rebuilds?

I've found some plugins that claim to offer this functionality, but many of them don't appear to be widely used or maintained. What does the community recommend I do?   I recently moved the asp.net website solution folder (along with class projects) to different location. As the result, visual studio doesn't stop at break points, and I could not able to debug. I see none of my assemblies at Debug Windows Modules; only microsoft assemblies are loaded. I have also deleted all bin folder and re-referenced all projects. But still no luck. Thanks in advance!

  Is there a way to only close "one end" of a TCP socket to cleanly indicate one side of a connection is done writing to the connection?   I have some xml files with figure spaces in it, I need to remove those with php. The utf-8 code for these is e2 80 a9. If I'm not mistaken php does not seem to like 6 byte utf-8 chars, so far at least I'm unable to find a way to delete the figure spaces with functions like preg_replace. Anybody any tips or even better a solution to this problem?
