  • How do I use text in one cell to trigger row to be copied on another sheet in Excel?

    I provide all of the cut lists for our cabinet manufacturing in Excel. I tally all parts for the entire job on the first worksheet in an Excel file, and then filter the rows based on the "Material" column, and manually copy/paste each row in to its own material-specific worksheet (example: I filter "Materials" column for "Maple Ply", and then copy all "Maple Ply" rows to the "Maple Ply" worksheet). Then the material specific worksheets are sent to the shop floor for cutting. This is time consuming, and if I need to change any data in the first page, I have to go and manually update the copied row in its material-specific page. Is there any way to make each material page "look" for its material, and automatically populate itself with any row that has the appropriate material in the material column (example: any time I enter "Maple Ply" in the material column of sheet one, that row is automatically copied to the "Maple Ply" worksheet)? If so, could this link be dynamic, rather than just a copy, so that if I change a cell in a particular row on sheet one, that data is also updated on the material-specific worksheet copy?   • Selenium tests not building due to NUnit error (Mono+OS X)

    I'm running Selenium RC on my Mac and driving my tests using NUnit in C#. My problem is that when I try and build a simple test in Mono I get the following error. Error CS0433: The imported type `NUnit.Framework.Assert' is defined multiple times (CS0433) (TestProject) When I comment out the Assert's it runs fine.     I need to quickly replace a listings website which has the following characteristics: smallish database (10,000 items, < 1GB) < 10% of the items updated/created/removed daily most common activity is searching the whole dataset, returning 1-1000 items traffic peaks at 1m page impressions per day Scaling strategy for the existing app has been to separate read-only and read/write activity. Multiple slave databases are used for searching and writes are done to a master, which update the slaves using MS SQL replication. Since read activity is more common than write, this has proved to be a cheap way to do database load balancing, without true clustering. I now need to replace the app - are there any C# open-source apps which scale as neatly as this?

    I have several posts on a website; all these posts are chat conversations of this type: AD: Hey! BC: What's up? AD: Nothing BC: Okay They're marked up as simple paragraphs surrounded by <p> tags. Using the javascript replace function, I want all instances of "AD" in the beginning of a conversation (ie, all instances of "AD" at the starting of a line followed by a ":") to be surrounded by <strong> tags, but only if the instance isn't already surrounded by a <strong> tag. What regex should I use to accomplish this? Am I trying to do what this advises against?   • Saving gzipped string into Sqlite3 via Rails throws unrecognized token error

    Hi, I'm using rails 2.3 and I'm trying to compress (gzip) text that I'd like to save using ActiveRecord into a sqlite database. However, the compressed text isn't being saved b/c I get this type of error: SQLite3::SQLException: unrecognized token: "'x##U?#7 Any thoughts on what I can do to avoid this error? should I compress the text in some other fashion? should I save the data using some other method(s)?     IE8 in non-compatability view, Version 8.0.6001.18702 The code below represents the problem: <body><div style="height:400px;width:400px"><iframe src="http://mail.ru" height="100%" width="100%"></iframe></div></body> Scroll the IFRAME to the right to the middle of "??????? ??????? ? ???????" orange label. Alt-Tab to other window and Alt-Tab back to IE window. The internal HTML will appear ouside of IFRAME boundaries. The screenshot demonstrating the problem. Does the IFRAME rendering have a bug? May be I have an unpatched version (automatic updates are turned ON). Could you suggest a workaround except turning on Compatability View? Thank you.

  • Adding an NSTextField as a subview

    I'm trying to add an NSTextField as a subview of a custom view class I have (which subclasses NSView), and then make the text field the first responder. This works fine... the text field shows up and I can start typing in it. However, any mouse events in the text field seem to fall through to its superview. For example, I can't see the mouse cursor when I hover over the text field, and when I click anywhere in the text field, it attempts to resign firstResponder status instead of letting me select text within the text field. I'm not overridding hitTest or anything weird like that, and I only have one window, which is definitely the key window. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! :-)

    We are looking for a security solution for asp.net that has security down to the control level. This is not a necessity but, it would be nice. At the very least it needs to extend-able to allow for control level permissions. The solution should have an administration panel of some sort. It also needs to support roles, groups, and individual permissions. We haven't seen anything like this in the marketplace -- we are in the process of rolling our own solution. We'd rather use an off the shelf solution.

  • WPF: Editable ComboBox; how to make search/auto-fill functionality case sensitive?

    Say I have a ComboBox, like so: <ComboBox IsEditable="True" Height="30"> <ComboBoxItem>robot</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>Robot</ComboBoxItem> </ComboBox> If a user comes along and starts by typing a lower-case 'r' into that ComboBox when it is empty, the ComboBox predictably auto-fills itself with the word 'robot'. Great. Now the same user comes along and starts typing an upper-case 'R' into that ComboBox when it is again empty. Unpredictable, the ComboBox auto-fills itself with the lower-case word 'robot'. Not great. I desperately want it to auto-fill itself with 'Robot', but WPF does not seem to want to smile down upon me. No matter what you do (CAPS lock, shift+key), the ComboBox will always auto-fill with the lower case 'robot', provided that the lower case 'robot' precedes the upper case 'Robot' in the ComboBox's items collection. Is there any way to prevent this? This behavior is maddening and makes for an absolutely abysmal user experience.

Here's how the message shows up in the Event Log, with the HTML "markup", doesn't even handle it: Example 2: Please contact us via <a href="mailto:[email protected]">email</a> or <a href="http://example.com">online</a>. This is how I would like the message to show up, but with "email" and "online" as the link texts: Example 3: Please contact us via email or online. I've tried the <a href>...</a> HTML tags with no success.

  • Java: how to tell if a line in a text file was supposed to be blank?

    I'm working on a project in which I have to read in a Grammar file (breaking it up into my data structure), with the goal of being able to generate a random "DearJohnLetter". My problem is that when reading in the .txt file, I don't know how find out whether the file was supposed to be a completely blank line or not, which is detrimental to the program.
