  • WFP Validation & IDataErrorInfo

    - by Jefim
    A note - the classes I have are EntityObject classes! I have the following class: public class Foo { public Bar Bar { get; set; } } public class Bar : IDataErrorInfo { public string Name { get; set; } #region IDataErrorInfo Members string IDataErrorInfo.Error { get { return null; } } string IDataErrorInfo.this[string columnName] { get { if (columnName == "Name") { return "Hello error!"; } Console.WriteLine("Validate: " + columnName); return null; } } #endregion } XAML goes as follows: <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" DataContext="{Binding Foo.Bar}"> <TextBox Text="{Binding Path=Name, ValidatesOnDataErrors=true}"/> </StackPanel> I put a breakpoint and a Console.Writeline on the validation there - I get no breaks. The validation is not executed. Can anybody just press me against the place where my error lies?

  • need an empty XML while unmarshalling a JAXB annotated class

    - by sswdeveloper
    I have a JAXB annotated class Customer as follows @XmlRootElement(namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer") public class Customer{ private String name; private Address address; @XmlTransient private HashSet set = new HashSet<String>(); public String getName(){ return name; } @XmlElement(name = "Name", namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer" ) public void setName(String name){ this.name = name; set.add("name"); } public String getAddress(){ return address; } @XmlElement(name = "Address", namespace = "http://www.abc.com/customer") public void setAddress(Address address){ this.address = address; set.add("address"); } public HashSet getSet(){ return set; } } I need to return an empty XML representing this to the user, so that he may fill the necesary values in the XML and send a request So what I require is : <Customer> <Name></Name> <Address></Address> </Customer> If i simply create an empty object Customer cust = new Customer() ; marshaller.marshall(cust,sw); all I get is the toplevel element since the other fields of the class are unset. What can I do to get such an empty XML? I tried adding the nillable=true annotation to the elements however, this returns me an XML with the xsi:nil="true" which then causes my unmarshaller to ignore this. How do I achieve this?

  • is putting N in front of strings in scripts considered a "best practice"?

    - by jcollum
    Let's say I have a table that has a varchar field. If I do an insert like this: INSERT MyTable SELECT N'the string goes here' Is there any fundamental difference between that and: INSERT MyTable SELECT 'the string goes here' My understanding was that you'd only have a problem if the string contained a Unicode character and the target column wasn't unicode. Other than that, SQL deals with it just fine and converts the string with the N'' into a varchar field (basically ignores the N). I was under the impression that N in front of strings was a good practice, but I'm unable to find any discussion of it that I'd consider definitive. Title may need improvement, feel free.

  • How to handle server-client requests

    - by Layne
    Currently I'm working on a Server-Client system which will be the backbone of my application. I have to find the best way to send requests and handle them on the server-side. The server-side should be able to handle requests like this one: getPortfolio -i 2 -d all In an old project I decided to send such a request as string and the server application had to look up the first part of the string ("getPortfolio"). Afterwards the server application had to find the correct method in a map which linked the methods with the the first part of the string ("getPortfolio"). The second part ("-i 2 -d all") got passed as parameter and the method itself had to handle this string/parameter. I doubt that this is the best solution in order to handle many different requests. • Python inter-computer communication.

    - by matt1024
    This whole topic is way out of my depth, so forgive my imprecise question, but I have two computers both connected to one LAN. What I want is to be able to communicate one string between the two, by running a python script on the first (the host) where the string will originate, and a second on the client computer to retrieve the string. What is the most efficient way for an inexperienced programmer like me to achieve this?

  • How to face observable object containing an observable field

    - by iseek
    Hello, I need a hint concerning MVC and Observer-Pattern. For example a model contains the classes "Address" and "Person". The Address class contains the fields street:String, zipcode:String, location:String. Whereas the Person class contains the fields name:String, firstName:String, address:Address. My approach so far looks something like this: Both, Address and Person are observable. If one of their setters is being called, I validate whether the current value and new value differ. Only in this case an update event is fired. The event contains the source, the name of the changed field, the old and the new value. The class for the view contains text fields to display and edit the information of a person: name, firstname, street, zipcode, location. It knows the Person model and is an subscribed observer for the person. So it gets the update events from the person object. My questions concerns the address field from type Address in the person class, since an address is observable on its own. If the view gets an update event from person when a new address has been set, I can update all of the address related fields in the view. But what if a field of the address changes? Should the view also register for update events from the address? Any hints about common design approaches would be appreciated. Greetings.

  • EF Code First - Relationships

    - by CaffGeek
    I have these classes public class EntityBase : IEntity { public int Id { get; set; } public DateTime Created { get; set; } public string CreatedBy { get; set; } public DateTime Updated { get; set; } public string UpdatedBy { get; set; } } public class EftInterface : EntityBase { public string Name { get; set; } public Provider Provider { get; set; } public List<BusinessUnit> BusinessUnits { get; set; } } public class Provider : EntityBase, IEntity { public string Name { get; set; } public decimal DefaultDebitLimit { get; set; } public decimal DefaultCreditLimit { get; set; } public decimal TreasuryDebitLimit { get; set; } public decimal TreasuryCreditLimit { get; set; } } public class BusinessUnit : EntityBase { public string Name { get; set; } } An interface, is really a Provider, with a collection of Business Units. The issue is that while my db model ends up having a correct EftInterfaces table, with a FK to Provider_Id, the BusinessUnits table has a FK to EftInterface_Id. But, a BusinessUnit can be included in more than one EftInterface. I need a many to many relationship. A BusinessUnit can be part of many EftInterfaces, and an EftInterface can contain many BusinessUnits. How can I get CodeFirst to generate the many-to-many table?

  • Java: Switch statements with methods involving arrays

    - by Shane
    Hi guys I'm currently creating a program that allows the user to create an array, search an array and delete an element from an array. Looking at the LibraryMenu Method, the first case where you create an array in the switch statement works fine, however the other ones create a "cannot find symbol error" when I try to compile. My question is I want the search and delete functions to refer to the first switch case - the create Library array. Any help is appreciated, even if its likely from a simple mistake. import java.util.*; public class EnterLibrary { public static void LibraryMenu() { java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); LibraryMenu Menu = new LibraryMenu(); Menu.displayMenu(); switch (scannerObject.nextInt() ) { case '1': { System.out.println ("1 - Add Videos"); Library[] newLibrary; newLibrary = createLibrary(); } break; case '2': System.out.println ("2 - Search Videos"); searchLibrary(newLibrary); break; case '3': { System.out.println ("3 - Change Videos"); //Change video method TBA } break; case '4': System.out.println ("4 - Delete Videos"); deleteVideo(newLibrary); break; default: System.out.println ("Unrecognized option - please select options 1-3 "); break; } } public static Library[] createLibrary() { Library[] videos = new Library[4]; java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int i = 0; i < videos.length; i++) { //User enters values into set methods in Library class System.out.print("Enter video number: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String number = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video title: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String title = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video publisher: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String publisher = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video duration: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String duration = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video date: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String date= scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("VIDEO " + (i+1) + " ENTRY ADDED " + "\n \n"); //Initialize arrays videos[i] = new Library (); videos[i].setVideo( number, title, publisher, duration, date ); } return videos; } public static void printVidLibrary( Library[] videos) { //Get methods to print results System.out.print("\n======VIDEO CATALOGUE====== \n"); for (int i = 0; i < videos.length; i++) { System.out.print("Video number " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getNumber() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video title " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getTitle() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video publisher " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getPublisher() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video duration " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getDuration() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video date " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getDate() + "\n "); } } public static Library searchLibrary( Library[] videos) { //User enters values to setSearch Library titleResult = new Library(); java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int n = 0; n < videos.length; n++) { System.out.println("Search for video number:\n"); String newSearch = scannerObject.nextLine(); titleResult.getSearch( videos, newSearch); if (!titleResult.equals(-1)) { System.out.print("Match found!\n" + newSearch + "\n"); } else if (titleResult.equals(-1)) { System.out.print("Sorry, no matches found!\n"); } } return titleResult; } public static void deleteVideo( Library[] videos) { Library titleResult = new Library(); java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int n = 0; n < videos.length; n++) { System.out.println("Search for video number:\n"); String deleteSearch = scannerObject.nextLine(); titleResult.deleteVideo(videos, deleteSearch); System.out.print("Video deleted\n"); } } public static void main(String[] args) { Library[] newLibrary; new LibraryMenu(); } }

  • Creating object/array to method in request based on __gettypes in PHP

    - by LochNess
    I'm having trouble with the array or object that should be passed based on the response from __gettypes. The __gettypes response: [0] => struct CDataWrapper { schema;any; } [1] => struct NewMember { MemberDetail MemberDetails;ArrayOfHobby Hobbies; } [2] => struct MemberDetail { string Name; string Age; string Sex; } [3] => struct ArrayOfHobby { Hobby Hobby; } [4] => struct Hobby { string Name; string HoursUsedOnHobbyWeekly;boolean Favourite; } ... etc. The methods are: [0] => ReceiveMemberResponse ReceiveMember(ReceiveMember $parameters) [1] => ReturnMemberResponse ReturnMember(ReturnMember $parameters) So far I have this PHP: $client = new SoapClient('http://domain.com?wsdl'); class MemberDetail { public $Name = ''; public $Age = ''; public $Sex = ''; } $mc = new MemberDetail(); $mc->Name= 'Bob'; $mc->Age= '14'; $mc->Sex= 'Male'; $myParam = array('ReceiveMember'=>$mc); $wcf = $client->ReceiveMember($myParam); $wcfResult = $wcf->ReturnMember; print_r($wcfResult) when i call the page it returns: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error. I'm not really sure how to create the array or object to pass on as $myParam since im no expert with PHP either.

  • Redemption using filter on a custom datetime field in contacts.

RDOItems Contacts = null; string strSearch = string.Empty; strSearch = AddQuotes("http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/string/{01234567-8901-2345-C678-901234567801}/CustomFieldString"); strSearch += " <> '' "; strSearch += " AND "; strSearch += AddQuotes("http://schemas.microsoft.com/mapi/string/{01234567-8901-2345-C678-901234567802}/CustomFieldDate"); strSearch += " < "; strSearch += "'2010-04-28 18:00'"; Contacts = (RDOItems)synContacts.Items.Restrict(strSearch) When i use only the first part of the filter (CustomFieldString) i get the right contacts, but when i expand the filter with the datetime field no contacts are returned. Thanks, Spitje

  • Why do browsers encode special characters differently with ajax requests?

    - by Andrei Oniga
    I have a web application that reads the values of a few input fields (alphanumeric) and constructs a very simple xml that is passes to the server, using jQuery's $.ajax() method. The template for that xml is: <request> <session>[some-string]</session> <space>[some-string]</space> <plot>[some-string]</plot> ... </request> Sending such requests to the server when the inputs contain Finnish diacritical characters (such as ä or ö) raises a problem in terms of character encoding with different browsers. For instance, if I add the word Käyttötarkoitus" in one of the inputs, here's how Chrome and Firefox send EXACTLY the same request to the server: Chrome: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> FF 12.0: <request> <session>{string-hidden}</session> <space>2080874</space> <plot>Käyttötarkoitus</plot> ... </request> And here is the code fragment that I use to send the requests: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: url, dataType: 'xml;charset=UTF-8', data: xml, success: function(xml) { // }, error: function(jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { // } }); Why do I get different encodings and how do I get rid of this difference? I need to fix this problem because it's causing other on the server-side.

  • routing paramenter returns null when only supplying first paramenter in MVC

    - by Ray ForRespect
    My issue is that I customer Map Route in MVC which takes three parameters. When I supply all three or just two, the parameters are passed from the URL to my controller. However, when I only supply the first parameter, it is not passed and returns null. Not sure what causes this behavior. Route: routes.MapRoute( name: "Details", // Route name url: "{controller}/{action}/{param1}/{param2}/{param3}", // URL with parameters defaults: new { controller = "Details", action = "Index", param1 = UrlParameter.Optional, param2 = UrlParameter.Optional, param3 = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); Controller: public ActionResult Map(string param1, string param2, string param3) { StoreMap makeMap = new StoreMap(); var storemap = makeMap.makeStoreMap(param1, param2, param3); var model = storemap; return View(model); } string param1 returns null when I navigate to: /StoreMap/Map/PARAM1NAME but it doesn't return null when I navigate to: /StoreMap/Map/PARAM1NAME/PARAM2NAME

  • Fetching JSON object from Servlet Java

    - by ChrisA
    I want to create an application that will fetch a JSON object from a servlet to deserialize it, and then use its variables to do other things. My servlet has the following code in the doPost: protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { ObjectOutputStream os; os = new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream()); String s = new String("A String"); Gson gson = new Gson(); String gsonObject= gson.toJson(s); os.writeObject(gsonObject); os.close(); } Now, while the servlet is running, I can access it via a browser, if I post same code in the doGet method, that would download a servlet file, which is not what I want. What should I use in my second application that would connect to the servlet, fetch the object, so that I can manipulate it later? Thanks in advance.

  • Inconsistent Behavior From Declared DLL Function

    - by Steven
    Why might my GetRawData declared function return a correct value when called from my VB.NET application, but return zero when called from my ASP.NET page? The code is exactly the same except for class type difference (Form / Page) and calling event handler (Form1_Load, Page_Load). Note: In the actual code, #DLL# and #RAWDATAFILE# are both absolute filenames to my DLL and raw data file respectively. Note: The DLL file was not created by Visual Studio. • SharePoint 2007 Object Model: How can I make a new site collection, move the original main site to b

    - by program247365
    Here's my current setup: one site collection on a SharePoint 2007 (MOSS Enterprise) box (32 GB total in size) one main site with many subsites (mostly created from the team site template, if that matters) that is part of the one site collection on the box What I'm trying to do*: *If there is a better order, or method for the following, I'm open to changing it Create a new site collection, with a main default site, on same SP instance (this is done, easy to do in SP Object Model) Move rootweb (a) to be a subsite in the new location, under the main site Current structure: rootweb (a) \ many sub sites (sub a) What new structure should look like: newrootweb(b) \ oldrootweb (a) \ old many sub sites (sub a) Here's my code for step #2: Notes: * SPImport in the object model under SharePoint.Administration, is what is being used here * This code currently errors out with "Object reference not an instance of an object", when it fires the error event handler using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using Microsoft.SharePoint; using Microsoft.SharePoint.Deployment; public static bool FullImport(string baseFilename, bool CommandLineVerbose, bool bfileCompression, string fileLocation, bool HaltOnNonfatalError, bool HaltOnWarning, bool IgnoreWebParts, string LogFilePath, string destinationUrl) { #region my try at import string message = string.Empty; bool bSuccess = false; try { SPImportSettings settings = new SPImportSettings(); settings.BaseFileName = baseFilename; settings.CommandLineVerbose = CommandLineVerbose; settings.FileCompression = bfileCompression; settings.FileLocation = fileLocation; settings.HaltOnNonfatalError = HaltOnNonfatalError; settings.HaltOnWarning = HaltOnWarning; settings.IgnoreWebParts = IgnoreWebParts; settings.IncludeSecurity = SPIncludeSecurity.All; settings.LogFilePath = fileLocation; settings.WebUrl = destinationUrl; settings.SuppressAfterEvents = true; settings.UpdateVersions = SPUpdateVersions.Append; settings.UserInfoDateTime = SPImportUserInfoDateTimeOption.ImportAll; SPImport import = new SPImport(settings); import.Started += delegate(System.Object o, SPDeploymentEventArgs e) { //started message = "Current Status: " + e.Status.ToString() + " " + e.ObjectsProcessed.ToString() + " of " + e.ObjectsTotal + " objects processed thus far."; message = e.Status.ToString(); }; import.Completed += delegate(System.Object o, SPDeploymentEventArgs e) { //done message = "Current Status: " + e.Status.ToString() + " " + e.ObjectsProcessed.ToString() + " of " + e.ObjectsTotal + " objects processed."; }; import.Error += delegate(System.Object o, SPDeploymentErrorEventArgs e) { //broken message = "Error Message: " + e.ErrorMessage.ToString() + " Error Type: " + e.ErrorType + " Error Recommendation: " + e.Recommendation + " Deployment Object: " + e.DeploymentObject.ToString(); System.Console.WriteLine("Error"); }; import.ProgressUpdated += delegate(System.Object o, SPDeploymentEventArgs e) { //something happened message = "Current Status: " + e.Status.ToString() + " " + e.ObjectsProcessed.ToString() + " of " + e.ObjectsTotal + " objects processed thus far."; }; import.Run(); bSuccess = true; } catch (Exception ex) { bSuccess = false; message = string.Format("Error: The site collection '{0}' could not be imported. And the stacktrace was '{2}'", destinationUrl, ex.Message, ex.StackTrace); } #endregion return bSuccess; } Here is the code calling the above method: [TestMethod] public void MOSS07_ObjectModel_ImportSiteCollection() { bool bSuccess = ObjectModelManager.MOSS07.Deployment.SiteCollection.FullImport("SiteCollBAckup.cmp", true, true, @"C:\SPBACKUP\SPExports", false, false, false, @"C:\SPBACKUP\SPExports", "http://spinstancename/TestImport"); Assert.IsTrue(bSuccess); }

  • C++ include statement required if defining a map in a headerfile.

    - by Justin
    I was doing a project for computer course on programming concepts. This project was to be completed in C++ using Object Oriented designs we learned throughout the course. Anyhow, I have two files symboltable.h and symboltable.cpp. I want to use a map as the data structure so I define it in the private section of the header file. I #include <map> in the cpp file before I #include "symboltable.h". I get several errors from the compiler (MS VS 2008 Pro) when I go to debug/run the program the first of which is: Error 1 error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'table' c:\users\jsmith\documents\visual studio 2008\projects\project2\project2\symboltable.h 22 Project2 To fix this I had to #include <map> in the header file, which to me seems strange. Here are the relevant code files: // symboltable.h #include <map> class SymbolTable { public: SymbolTable() {} void insert(string variable, double value); double lookUp(string variable); void init(); // Added as part of the spec given in the conference area. private: map<string, double> table; // Our container for variables and their values. }; and // symboltable.cpp #include <map> #include <string> #include <iostream> using namespace std; #include "symboltable.h" void SymbolTable::insert(string variable, double value) { table[variable] = value; // Creates a new map entry, if variable name already exist it overwrites last value. } double SymbolTable::lookUp(string variable) { if(table.find(variable) == table.end()) // Search for the variable, find() returns a position, if thats the end then we didnt find it. throw exception("Error: Uninitialized variable"); else return table[variable]; } void SymbolTable::init() { table.clear(); // Clears the map, removes all elements. }
