• UTF-8 support in java application

  I'm having trouble with UTF-8. common.jsp <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8"%> typical.jsp <%@ include file="common.jsp" %> Page Head <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> Form <form id="screenObject" accept-charset="UTF-8" action="/SiteAdmin/articleHeaderEdit?articleId=15" method="post"> I enter non latin1 characters into a text field and click Save. Validator complains about another field and stops the submission. This never gets to the database, so database ability to handle UTF-8 is not in this picture. The page redisplays with appropriate error but the text that had been entered is all messed up. All non latin1 characters are converted to some gibberish. I'm using Spring 3 MVC, in case that matters... Attempts Adding this to my view resolver didn't help: <property name="contentType" value="text/html;charset=UTF-8" />

  Hello. I need to recalculate body's main div height, than wait while all content (images) loads and only than show it to site visitor. • How to get the recently viewed pictures on the web browser?

  I want to retrieve the recently viewed pictures from IE. I know that all the files from IE exist in the internet temporary directory, commonly with the path like "C:\Documents and Settings[account]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files". Here something strange for me comes. I wrote a program of C++ to retrieve the directory above, and the result says it contains three subdirectories and one file. These subdirectories are Content.IE5, OIS, and OLK145, each contains lots of pictures, which I think are the ones I browsed recently on the web. The only file is desktop.ini, which is not my concern. However, when I open the directory in the file system, there are no subdirectories at all, but a lot of files, different from the ones in the subdirectories retrieved by the program. I have several questions. Frist of all, why the content of the temorary internet files seems different? Which is the actual situation about the directory? Second, I found that in filesystem explorer, the files in the directory seem like some link to the ones on the web, not physically exist on my computer, is this true? Finally, how can I get the pictures viewed from IE recently with C++, as well as their original url?

  I'm using a simple jquery code that grabs html code form a tag and then puts this content into a form input <td class="name_cat" ><span class="name_cat">It&#039;s a &quot;test&quot; </span> (5)</td> jquery gets the content into span.name_catand returns it as It's a "test". So when I print this into an input it becomes <input value="It's a "test"" /> which as you can imagine will only show as It's a , the following double quote will close the value tag. What's the trick here to keep the original string while not showing utf8 code in the input? • ajax on parked domain

  I'm currently writing this jquery and for some reason (I don't know why) it works on the normal domain, but on the parked domain it doesn't. Normal domain - http://www.thefinishedbox.com Parked domain - http://www.tfbox.com If you scroll down to the colony news and hit the click me link you'll see it will retrieve data via jquery ajax on the Normal domain, but on the parked domain it wont. • Shared Git repo syncing to svn causing git svn rebase to pollute repo with a log of no-op merge prob

  This wasn't so bad at the beginning, but now I have hundreds of no-op merge problems (solved by git rebase --skip). I have setup a shared git repo for my group because it is easier to deal with. But the company uses SVN so I have to keep SVN in sync with GIT. Worked like a dream at first, but after weeks of doing this GIT is giving me a lot of the following errors. Applying: * making all config actions work Using index info to reconstruct a base tree... Falling back to patching base and 3-way merge... Auto-merging app/controllers/vulnerabilities_controller.rb CONFLICT (content): Merge conflict in app/controllers/vulnerabilities_controller.rb Auto-merging public/javascripts/network_analysis_vulnerability_config.js CONFLICT (content): Merge conflict in public/javascripts/network_analysis_vulnerability_config.js Failed to merge in the changes. Patch failed at 0046 * making all config actions work My workflow: git co master git pull origin git svn rebase ... deal with no-op merge problems ... git svn dcommit git pull origin git push origin The problem is that what is in SVN is the correct so I use git rebase --skip, but I have to do that hundreds of times before I can dcommit. How do I clear these merge problems permanently?

  I'm having an issue with the localeconv() in PHP. I'm using a Windows PC. I set my locale to France using setLocale(LC_ALL, 'fra_fra') function. Then I call the localeconv() function to a variable. When I output that variable, below is what I get. Array ( [decimal_point] = , [thousands_sep] = ? [int_curr_symbol] = EUR [currency_symbol] = ? [mon_decimal_point] = , [mon_thousands_sep] = ? I've done the following: Set my default_charset in PHP.ini to UTF-8 The Content-type on my page is UTF-8 I've also called same in a header i.e. header('Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8') I'm using firefox and changed the charset there too, still no luck I also updated my http.conf file with AddDefaultCharset, but still no cigar I'm completely stumped and not sure what next to do.   I currently try printing out text on multiple pages. For this, I count the number of rows and when they reach a fixed amount a method called pagebreakis executed. • Prevent WPF control from expanding beyond viewable area

  I have an Items Control in my user control with a scroll viewer around it for when it gets too big (Too big being content is larger than the viewable area of the user control). The problem is that the grid that it is all in just keeps expanding so that the scroll viewer never kicks in (unless I specify an exact height for the grid).   We have a table called worktable which has some columns(key(primary key), ptime, aname, status, content) we have something called producer which puts in rows in this table and we have consumer which does an order-by on the key column and fetches the first row which has status as 'pending'. The consumer does some processing on this row: 1. updates status to "processing" 2. does some processing using content 3. deletes the row we are facing contention issues when we try to run multiple consumers(probably due to the order-by which does a full table scan)... using Advanced queues would be our next step but before we go there we want to check what is the max throughput we can achieve with multiple consumers and producer on the table. What are the optimizations we can do to get the best numbers possible? Can we do an in-memory processing where a consumer fetches 1000 rows at a time processes and deletes? will that improve? What are other possibilities? partitioning of table? parallelization? Index organized tables?...

For me the simples way to do that is to use a table: <table> <tr> <td> Content of the first column. </td> <td> Content of the second column. </td> </tr> </table> I like this solution because, first of all, it works (it gives exactly what I want), it is also really simple and stable (I will always have two columns, no matter how big is my window). It is easy to control the size and position of the table. However, I know that people do not like the table-layout and, as far as I know, they use div and css instead. So, I would like also to try this approach. Can anybody help me with that? I would like to have a simple solution (without tricks) that is easy to remember. It also needs to be stable (so that it will not accidentally happen that one column is under another one or they overlap or something like that).

• Should I really use a UITableView in this situation?

  Imagine you have a view like this: At the top, there is an UISegmentedControl with two segments. It functions like a tab. Pressing one segment will activate this particular content below that UISegmentedControl. Below the UISegmentedControl are some switches. These modify the way how the content should be rendered. And finally, below those switches, there's a table. Imagine a table not in sense of UITableView, but just what it really is: A table. It shows little messages like twitter messages or chat messages for example, one below the other. Like you know it from skype and other chats. Basically they're just rows with some formatting. A label, some image views, some lines, a background. Pretty basic. The data comes from an array. No core data. The whole thing including the segmented control and setup switches must be scrollable. So what I did is: I put all this stuff in an UIScrollView. Now I have to make the decision if I would use a UITableView inside there for that table part, or if I would just print a lot of rows on to the scroll view (with -drawRect:). But some problems stick in my head: Can I put a UITableView inside a UIScrollView? I assume this makes a lot of problems. I don't want that the table part is separately scrollable. Again imagine that view: First there are some basic choice things (segmented control, switches). Then there comes the table. When you scroll, the whole thing scrolls. That's mainly because this first part with the settings can be pretty big, so you would want to scroll it away. The next thing is: Can I customize UITableView in such a way, that it consists of two parts? One for that settings part, and one for the actual data to display?

  I have a custom shortcode tag with a few attributes, and I would like to be able to display its attributes on new lines - to make it more readable to content editors: [component attr1 ="value1" attr2 ="value of the second one" attr3 ="another" attr4 ="value" ... attrN ="valueN"] The reason behind this requirement is that a few attributes might be quite verbose in content. • A stupid question about wordpress and php

  It may seem stupid question, but i've a serious problem... if you could check out orcik.net the thumbnail images does not appear. I figured out the reason but I don't know how to solve.. http://orcik.net/projects/thumb/orcikthumb.php?src=http://orcik.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mac-safari-search-cache.png If you go to the above link you will get page not found error. However, if you go to the link below you'll get the thumbnail version of the image... http://orcik.net/projects/thumb/orcikthumb.php?src=/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mac-safari-search-cache.png I'm using this piece of code on wordpress and the line appears like <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark"> <img src="<?php bloginfo('template_directory'); ?>/includes/orcikthumb.php?src=<?php get_thumbnail($post->ID, 'full'); ?>&amp;h=<?php echo get_theme_mod($height); ?>&amp;w=<?php echo get_theme_mod($width); ?>&amp;zc=1" alt="<?php the_title(); ?>" /> </a> Thus, I believe I can't change the directory of image. But I could not figure out why I am getting page not found error. Is that might be CHMOD'es??? or something else?? Thanks

  Assume I have the following nesting: <div class="cointainer-fluid"> <div class="row-fluid"> <div class="span3"> <!-- left sidebar here --> </div> <div class="span9"> <!-- main content here --> </div> </div> </div> I'd like to put an unknown number of <div class="span3"></div> in the main content area. (Each of the span3 is suppose to contain a product photo, name, price, etc.) Of course, my aim is that be responsive. So, I might display 20 products, which I'd like to possibly display 5 products per "row" on a wide screen, then 4 products per "row" on a slightly less wide screen, then 3, then 2, then 1. For example (each X represents a product): Wide Screen row 1: X X X X X row 2: X X X X X row 3: X X X X X row 4: X X X X X Less Wide Screen row 1: X X X X row 2: X X X X row 3: X X X X row 4: X X X X row 5: X X X X Even Less Wide Screen row 1: X X X row 2: X X X row 3: X X X row 4: X X X row 5: X X X row 6: X X X row 7: X X It seems like I need to do nested rows. However, if I do that, then I'll only be able to fit a certain amount of products in each nested row.
