  • Tag Cloud Data Backend

    I want to be able to generate tag clouds from free text that comes from any number of different sources. For clarity, I'm not talking about how to display a tag cloud once the critical tags/phrases are already discovered, I'm hoping to be able to discover the meaningful phrases themselves... preferable on a PHP/MySQL stack. If I had to do this myself, I'd start by establishing some kind of index for words/phrases that gives a "normal" frequency for any word/phrase. eg "Constantinople" occurs once in every 1,000,000 words on average (normal frequency "0.000001"). Then as I analyze a body of text, I'd find the individual words/phrases (another challenge!), find frequencies of each within the input, and measure against the expected freqeuncy. Words that have the highest ratio against expected frequency get boosted priority in the cloud. I'd like to believe someone else has already done this, WAY better than I could hope to, but I'll be damned if I can find it. Any recommendations??

  • How to see what objects lie in which generation in YourKit?

    I am using YourKit (11.0) to try to profile my j2ee app. The app uses java 6 and running on 64-bit linux (centos). I was told that YourKit possibly tells us which objects exist in which generation (eden, old, etc) at any given point of time. On a side note, I am trying to chase a problem where memory usage keeps increasing until a major collection happens (every 4 hrs) and I am suspicious about few particular objects, so I am interested to know where those objects lie at different times. Fortunately I know lot of memory is being consumed in one particular area of code (so other objects are possibly directly being put into the old gen), but don't exactly know how much of that memory is being put into eden space, how much is being collected by the minor collections, etc. Thanks.

    This question is relating to 2 php scripts. The first script is called pick_modcontact.php where I choose a contact (from a contact book like phone book), then posts to the script show_modcontact.php When I click the submit button on the form on pick.modcontact.php. As a result of submitting the form I am then taken to show_modcontact.php. As the variables are not present the user is directed back to pick_modcontact.php I can not work out how to correct the code so that it will show the results of the script show_modcontact.php This script shows all contacts in a database which is an "address book" this part works fine. please see below.     I created a separate NSManagedObjectContext on a separate thread to perform some store maintenance. However, I have noticed that the context returns YES for hasChanges as soon as a managed object in it is even referenced e.g. NSString *name = managedObject.name; This context is created and used exclusively in 1 method. Why is it returning has changes, when there there are none?

Then I only want those imports with the "Application" "CheckFolderApplication" metadata. To currenly do that I read all the imports and then filter the result. [Import(typeof(ExtendedApplicationBase))] private ExportCollection<IApplication> _applications { get; set; } public IApplication GetApplication(string applicationName) { return _applications.Single(a => a.GetExportedObject().Name == applicationName).GetExportedObject(); } This feels really inefficient. What if I have thousands of plug-ins - do I have to read them all via MEF to just get one with the right metadata? If so how do you cache the result?

    Looking to nest (to unlimited levels) elements in XML. While browsing for a solution I noticed in the comments of: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/988139/weird-nesting-in-xml while the above is well formed it would not validate against any sinsible DTD. Two things, what is a better way of nesting similar elements, and secondly what would be the design of the DTD. UPDATE: Would prefer to validate against an XML Schema rather than DTD.

Are any database requests made when I access User.Identity? Thanks.   • What's the point of having to provide a cacheName for NSFetchedResultsController?

How important is this decision? What would happen if there are two NSFetchedResultsController instances using the exact same cacheName? Does that matter? Is that some kind of singleton stuff? Thinking about Core Animation, there's also this strange animationID parameter, but setting it to the exact same thing for dozens of simultaneous animations doesn't hurt the animations at all. So I guess it's probably the same thing here...or not?

  • minLength data validation is not working with Auth component for CakePHP

    Let's say I have a user registration and I'm using the Auth component (/user/register is allowed of course). The problem is if I need to set a minLength validation rule in the model, it doesn't work since the Auth component hashes the password therefore it's always more than my minlength password and it passes even if it's blank.     I am currently working with User objects -- each of which have many Goal objects. The Goal objects are not User specific, that is, Users can share the same Goal. I am attempting to fashion a way to calculate a "similarity percentage" between two Users... (i.e., taking into account how many Goals they share as well as how many Goals they do not share) Does anyone have experience with this type of situation? I am using Grails with Mysql if that is helpful. Thanks
