    Hi, I'm new in Android and I have to do an application (in android) that consumes a NET WCF service with httpbasicbinding. I have heard about use of ksoap2-android, json and restfull but I don't know which is the best way for my app. Anyone can suggest me anything? Another problem is my WCF service return complex objects made by Linq To Sql and I don't know how can I use it in Android. Thanks in advance!

    Users are complaining about an Outlook plug-in my developers created, saying that the "verifying application requirements" message appears when they open Outlook. We do want the check to take place, but users have requested that we hide it. Is this possible to do, and if so, what can I tell my developers to do? (What direction should I point them in?) I am generating notifications using notification manager class, when the timeline crosses.But if my cell phone is switched off ,I am unable to see these notifications. Not even when i switch it on again. Even if i switch it off and switch on again, i think the pending intents are destroyed and no notification is generated. How do i get it when the phone is switched on again ?

    Is it possible to restart server from ASP.NET application that is hosted by LocalSystem or LocalService account. This is working when I create custom administrative account and put AppPool to run under that account: Process.Start("shutdown", "/r /d 4:1 /t 10"); However, I don't want to have custom accounts (because of password expiry and need to update all AppPools when User passwords are changed). So, is this possible?

    We are designing an online application (college admission form) which mandates the user to upload a scanned copy of his photo along with his signature, so that this information can be used to cross verify the applicant when he appears for a exam + personal interview at a later point in time. This entire process requires a scanner for the applicant to scan his photo / signature into an appropriate size. Is there a better way to capture user identity for such purposes as usage of scanner for capturing signature, photo is a painful process.

    I have a web application that is using forms authentication. Everything is configured and working correctly. However, i'm dealing with the issue of creating and maintaining users and role membership. I know that I can roll my own solution but I'm wondering if there is an alternative solution? Does iis7 provide screens for managing forms authentication users? Is there a reliable, free solution that someone would recommend? Thanks!

    Hi All, I know that there is the PyObjC bridge is OSX and what I want to do is to put a python application/script in the rightclick context menu of OS X. there is the OnMyCommand plugin but I dont think that supports python. I've had a look at how to do it in Carbon/ Objective-C and i'll admit it im a wuss and am just not smart enough yet to grok how to do it (I aint even close to groking it actually.)
