  • Is it okay to programmatically create UITouch and UIEvent objects to emulate touch events?

    I want to simulate some touches on my UI, without using private API. So one simple way to do it is to simply call those -touchesBegan:withEvent:, -touchesMoved:withEvent:, -touchesEnded:WithEvent: and -touchesCancelled:withEvent: methods inside my custom controls. For that, I would have to create UITouch and UIEvent dummy objects with appropriate data inside. Is this fine with them? Or would they reject my app?

There are 2 questions: 1.It it possible to track the percentage progress when UIWebView is loading the page? 2.I know there is property scalesPageToFit scalesPageToFit A Boolean value determining whether the webpage scales to fit the view and the user can change the scale. If I use the Google Ajax WebSearch API with, for instance, "Dummy Search" as phrase, my resultset is a different one than if I perform the same phrase over google.com. How can that be? I'm looking for something that uses Lucene, solr, or sphinx on the backend, and provides a REST API for submitting documents to index, and running searches. I could build my own EC2 AMI, but I'd have to configure EBS and other stuff, monitor it, etc. Curious if someone has already done all this and would charge per MB/GB indexed. thank you. -- James

    Hi! I need to implement HorizontalScrollView which is scrolled to predefined positions (similar to Home behaviour). It works with slow gestures, but does not work with flings. I hooked to View.onScrollChanged() and it is called when scrolling happened, but I can't determine when scrolling ends. In theory there should be a way to say that fling is over. Is there such API?

I already read the example on this page, but this is only for receiving data from a RESTful-interface, not for sending new data to the server. In Java, I can use RESTlet for example, is there any possibility to use something like that for Qt, too? Or is there even a simple way to send data from Qt to RESTful, for example when I create a XML before?

  • How to get bluetooth RSSI on android after discovery

    I'm trying to write a program that can read the signal strength of a bluetooth device linked to my android 2.0 handset. Doesnt seem like android exposes anyway to get the RSSI unless it is during discovery. Is there any other way to get the signal strength of the device after the device has been detected? I read of a way to do it using NDK to access the underlying BlueZ API, but I dont know how to use that. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Adding JBoss repository to m2eclipse, no latest Hibernate version

    I'm trying to add JBoss repository to m2eclipse, mainly for Hibernate. It seems to work, but it can't find the latest version of Hibernate (3.5.1), only 3.5.0beta. I looked at some other packages, and they all seem a couple of months behind. What could be causing this? I'm running latest m2eclipse, and i guess latest Eclipse (it just says 20100218-1602, eclipse people think it's funny to not include version in the about dialog), on ubuntu 9.10.   • path problem with mod_rewrite, XDebug, PDT, XAMPP and Windows XP

    My mod_rewrite turns accounts/create into index.php?folder=accounts&action=create, but pdt ignores it, so when I try to start a PHP Script debug session, I have to type a folder location in the file field and pdt doesn't accept. When PDT auto generates the URL for the PHP Web Page debug session, I go to http://localhost/myframe/index.php?XDEBUG%5FSESSION%5FSTART=ECLIPSE%5FDBGP&KEY=12569067976875, but myframe is in the frameworks folder, so I get a 404 error. When I check a breakpoint, uncheck Auto Generate, add frameworks before myframe in URL, set Start Debug from http://localhost/frameworks/myframe/accounts/create in Advanced and click Debug, the debugger doesn't stop at the breakpoint.

Since the table view index API is character-based, I assume that this magnifying glass is a Unicode character. So far I've resorted to placing a question mark character there, but that looks lame.   • Linux: close a program with command line (not kill it)

    Some applications only allow one running instance (like eclipse, if you want to use the same workspace). So if I log in from another location, I have to kill/close the application that was open when I previously logged in from another location. I always use kill command to kill the running process. But, if you kill a process, it might not save some states that are useful for future usage. However, if you "close" it properly byclicking on the close button, for example, it will save the states properly. Is there a way to properly "close" an application from command line? I know this can vary from applications, so let's be a bit more generic: how to send a signal to another running application, and this signal works just as if we click the "close" button in the top bar? thanks!
