  I have two begininer programs, both using the 'while' function, one works correctly, and the other gets me stuck in a loop. • going reverse in a for loop?

  Hello there, Basically i got this for loop and i want the number inputed (eg. 123) to be printed out in reverse, so "321". so far it works fine and prints out the correct order when the for loop is for(i = 0; i<len ; i++) but i get an error when i try to print it in reverse?. • Is it possible in any Java IDE to collapse the type definitions in the source code?

  Lately I often have to read Java code like this: LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> totals = new LinkedHashMap<String, Integer>(listOfRows.get(0)) for (LinkedHashMap<String, Integer> row : (ArrayList<LinkedHashMap<String,Integer>>) table.getValue()) { for(Entry<String, Integer> elem : row.entrySet()) { String colName=elem.getKey(); int Value=elem.getValue(); int oldValue=totals.get(colName); int sum = Value + oldValue; totals.put(colName, sum); } } Due to the long and nested type definitions the simple algorithm becomes quite obscured. So I wished I could remove or collapse the type definitions with my IDE to see the Java code without types like: totals = new (listOfRows.get(0)) for (row : table.getValue()) { for(elem : row.entrySet()) { colName=elem.getKey(); Value=elem.getValue(); oldValue=totals.get(colName); sum = Value + oldValue; totals.put(colName, sum); } } The best way of course would be to collapse the type definitions, but when moving the mouse over a variable show the type as a tooltip. Is there a Java IDE or a plugin for an IDE that can do this?

I have WinForms application in mind, where a cheat code would unlock an easter egg, but the implementation details are not relevant. • Counter that will remember it's value

  I have a task to operate on complex number. Each number consists of double r = real part, double i = imaginary part and String name. Name must be set within constructor, so I've created int counter, then I'm sending it's value to setNextName function and get name letter back. Unfortunately incrementing this 'counter' value works only within costructor and then it is once again set to 0. How to deal with that?Some constant value? And second problem is that I also need to provide setNextNames(char c) function that will change the counter current value.   I am trying to set up an alarm that will run in the background and trigger (eventually) a save event. At the moment I simply have this code attached to a button. Press the button and the alarm should start leaving Toast messages behind as an indication that it is functioning. At the moment everything runs except the onReceive in the BroadcastReceiver is never triggered.   Hello, I am writing an Apache module in C++. I need to store the common data that all childs need to read as a portion of shared memory. Structure is kind of map of vectors, so I want to use STL map and vectors for it. • Hibernate triggering constraint violations using orphanRemoval

  I'm having trouble with a JPA/Hibernate (3.5.3) setup, where I have an entity, an "Account" class, which has a list of child entities, "Contact" instances. I'm trying to be able to add/remove instances of Contact into a List<Contact> property of Account. Adding a new instance into the set and calling saveOrUpdate(account) persists everything lovely. If I then choose to remove the contact from the list and again call saveOrUpdate, the SQL Hibernate seems to produce involves setting the account_id column to null, which violates a database constraint. What am I doing wrong? The code below is clearly a simplified abstract but I think it covers the problem as I'm seeing the same results in different code, which really is about this simple. • How to implement Session timeout in Web Server Side?

  I beheld a web framework implementing in-memory session in this way. The session object is added to Cache with timeout. When the time is out, the session is removed from Cache automatically. To protect race condition, each request should acquire lock on given session object to proceed. Each request will "touch" the session in Cache to refresh the timeout. Everything looks fine, until this scenario is discovered. Say, one operation takes a long time, longer than timeout. Another request comes and wait on session lock which is currently hold by the long-time request. Finally, the long-time request is over, it releases the lock. But, since it already takes longer time than timeout, the session object is already removed from Cache. This is obvious because the only request holding the lock doesn't have a chance to "touch" the session object in cache. The second request gets the lock but cannot retrieve the expired Session object. Oops... To fix this issue, the second request has to re-create the Session object. But, this is just like digging a buried dead body from tomb and try to bring it back to life. It causes buggy code. I'm wondering what's the best way to implement timeout in session to handle such scenario. I know that current platform must have good session mechanism. I just want to know the under-the-hood how.

  After much searching the answer seems to be no, but I thought I'd ask here before giving up. For a project I'm working on that includes recording sound, the input levels sound a little quiet both when the route is external mic + speaker and when it's headphone mic + headphones. Does anyone know definitively whether it is possible to programmatically change mic gain levels on the iPhone in any part of Core Audio? If not, is it possible that I'm not really in "speakerphone" mode (with the external mic at least) but only think I am?
