• Specify which row to return on SQLite Group By

  I'm faced with a bit of a difficult problem. I store all the versions of all documents in a single table. Each document has a unique id, and the version is stored as an integer which is incremented everytime there is a new version. I need a query that will only select the latest version of each document from the database. While using GROUP BY works, it appears that it will break if the versions are not inserted in the database in the order of version (ie. it takes the maximum ROWID which will not always be the latest version). Note, that the latest version of each document will most likely be a different number (ie. document A is at version 3, and document B is at version 6). I'm at my wits end, does anybody know how to do this (select all the documents, but only return a single record for each document_id, and that the record returned should have the highest version number)?

• Are there any worse sorting algorithms than Bogosort (a.k.a Monkey Sort)?

  My co-workers took me back in time to my University days with a discussion of sorting algorithms this morning. We reminisced about our favorites like StupidSort, and one of us was sure we had seen a sort algorithm that was O(n!). That got me started looking around for the "worst" sorting algorithms I could find. We postulated that a completely random sort would be pretty bad (i.e. randomize the elements - is it in order? no? randomize again), and I looked around and found out that it's apparently called BogoSort, or Monkey Sort, or sometimes just Random Sort. Monkey Sort appears to have a worst case performance of O(∞), a best case performance of O(n), and an average performance of O(n * n!). Are there any named algorithms that have worse average performance than O(n * n!)? Or are just sillier than Monkey Sort in general?

• PHP Include Windows XP Notepad++ Editor - Nav Include Not Working - Nav Disappears

  I am creating a website, and have a tabbed horizontal menu. In order to cut back on the number of files I have to edit when I have to make changes to the menu I want to put the navigation in a separate file that I can call using a PHP include statement. When I do this, however, the nav disappears entirely from the page. The rest of the content remains, and there are no error messages. I have been looking for answers for this for weeks, and have tried every version of the PHP include statement that I could find. None of them worked. This was the last attempt. I have the file "nav.php" in a folder named "includes" in a main dir called "testsite" I use Windows XP, use NotePad++ as my text editor, and have been testing in Firefox. I can't find an answer anywhere - any help would be appreciated. Lorianna

• Passenger: RailsBaseURI case sensitive?

  I used Passenger to deploy a RoR app to a sub URI on my domain. The problem I'm facing is that the sub URI seems to be case sensitive. Navigating to http://mydomain.com/RailsApp resolves fine. However, if I go to http://mydomain.com/railsapp, http://mydomain.com/railsApp, or any other variation, I get a 404 error. How can these requests using different casings get resolved correctly? • jQuery trigger mouseover function when page loads with the mouse over the element

  Hello all, I have an ASP.NET document, with an Image element within it. I created a mouseover function on this image element and it's working fine. The question is: If the mouse is ALREADY over the element when the document loads itself, the mouseover function doesn't trigger (I need to mouseout and then mouseover again in order to trigger it). Is there any way to check in the $(document).ready function if the mouse is already on top of this element? and if yes- trigger the mouseover function. Thanks all!

• Sub-classing TreeView in WinForms for mouse over tool tips

  Ok, this is a weird one. The expected behaviour for a TreeView control is that, if ShowNodeToolTips is set to false, then, when a label for a tree node exceeds the width of the control (or, more accurately, it's right hand edge is past the right hand edge of the client area), then a tooltip is shown above the node showing the full item's text. I'd like to disable that, because the above semantic doesn't always work, depending on what the treeview is contained within. So I have rolled my own, and got the tooltips to work (and line up better than the default one!) - but I would like to be able to disable the 'default' behaviour for situations where it would work natively. So, can anyone point me in the right direction as to which message to post to the TreeView in order to disable that behaviour? I have looked at the windows control reference, but couldn't find anything that looked like it might be the one.

  Hey, I have a UITabBarController with three view controllers (from three different types). On one of the view controllers, I want to display a modalViewController. Once a UIButton on the screen is pressed, I perform this action: AboutViewController *modalViewController = [[AboutViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AboutScreen" bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:modalViewController animated:YES]; like I always do in order to display a modal view... The problem is, that while the modal view is being displayed (while it is moving from the bottom of the screen), a 20 pixels grey strip is showing on the bottom of the screen (the same size as the status bar on the top).   Hi, I'm looking for a maven plugin that would generate ActionScript3 classes from Java classes in order to access them by object remoting. I've seen FlexMojo but it uses the GraniteDS generator wich create some problems when it comes to map Enum objects (wich can be fix through a workaround that is describe here : http://dev.c-ware.de/confluence/display/PUBLIC/Flexmojos+generated+AS3+model+with+Enum+support+using+BlazeDS?focusedCommentId=7634946&#comment-7634946 if you've googled your way here this might be useful) when working with BlazeDS. Everything that i found so far are people who explain how to generate VO classes on flex side using Flash Builder 4, but this solution can not be used in an industrial developpement environnement.   hi, i am trying to find ways to sanitize the input of wmd editor Specifically, I am trying to make HTML tags only available in the <code>tags that wmd generates. Is that possible My problem is that the following code is rendered as html which is vunerable to potential xss attacks e.g. <a onmouseover="alert(1)" href="#">read this!</a> The above code renders normally both in preview mode and when saved to the db. I notice that SO doesnt seem to have this problem. The same code is just rendered as text. • Handling hundreds of actions in Struts2

  Hi all, I've inherited a struts 1 web application where, in order to reduce the number of Action classes (I guess this is the reason), lots of actions are mapped inside a single Action class, like: public XXXAction() throws Exception{ actions = new Hashtable(); actions.put("/XXX/main/load", new Integer(0)); actions.put("/XXX/main/save", new Integer(1)); ...... } public ActionForward executeAction(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException { try { switch (((Integer) actions.get(action)).intValue()) { case 0: loadXXXMain(); break; case 1: ....... and so on (in some Action classes I have almost one hundred of these small actions). Now I'm looking at migrate to struts2 and I would like to have a cleaner and better solution to handle this, maybe without having a single Action class for each of these small classes. • how to preload more than one but not all images of a slideshow with jquery

  I'd like to create a web based stop motion video player. Basically a slideshow that shows 2-4 images per second. Each image might be a maximum of 20KB. I don't want to preload all images in the slideshow as there might be thousands, however I need to preload more than just the next image in the show as this will not playback fast enough (because of the playback speed the browser needs to be loading more than one image at a time). I've been looking at using the jQuery Cycle Plugin (http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/) with a addSlide type function but don't know how to make it work. Would something like this might work? -Slideshow starts -image is played back -preloader will attempt to load up to the next 60 images -playback will wait for the next image in line to completely load, but will not wait for all 59 others. The playback / preloading order is important for this application.

  With halfdans advice, I was successfully able to use goinstall github.com/hoisie/web.go without any errors after installing git first. However, now when I try to compile the sample code given, go is not finding the web package. I get the error, main.go:4: can't find import: web On this code package main import ( "web" ) func hello(val string) string { return "hello " + val } func main() { web.Get("/(.*)", hello) web.Run("0.0.0.0:9999") } Is there something special I need to do in order for it to recognize the package? I found the package source at $GOROOT/src/pkg/github.com/hoisie/web.go/web. I tried github.com/hoisie/web.go/web as the import and it still did not like that.

  Where do you have the most success getting your ArcGIS development questions answered? ESRI forums? Stack Overflow? Google? Mailing lists? Blog posts? ESRI documentation? I can usually get answers to my ASP.NET/Oracle/JavaScript/C# questions in short order, but questions about ESRI products and APIs are a different matter. Posts founder in the forums, Google returns void, etc. I'm sure this is not uncommon for niche commercial products, but frustrating nevertheless. What works for you? Please share.

  I have a upload file form, when you hit Submit it send the file to my server, but it takes a while, in the mean time i need to tell the user wait in order to get the file uploaded, because he can press Submit again because there is no menssage to prevent him. So, the user fill a few fields in the form, including a file. When he Send the form it sends the variables via POST to the same page: <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post"> A php script detect the page now have POST variables a do something. In the time between the send action and the page reload i need to display a mensage, how can i do that??? Thanks It will be nice if you now how to trigger that with colorbox. I know how to use it from a link but no from this POST action.

• MySQL "OR MATCH" hangs (long pause with no answer) on multiple tables

  After learning how to do MySQL Full-Text search, the recommended solution for multiple tables was OR MATCH and then do the other database call. You can see that in my query below. When I do this, it just gets stuck in a "busy" state, and I can't access the MySQL database. • Set environment variable for build in hudson

  I am trying to put a maven2 project under continuous integration in hudson. The project uses selenium for some integration testing. Hudson is running on a headless linux. I am using xvfb to start a x server session for selenium. In order to run the tests, I need to export an environment variable named DISPLAY. e.g. export DISPLAY=:99 However, I don't want to set the variable on the box since it would affect all builds. I have tried to do a shell execute using the m2 extra steps plugin but it doesnt work since it is executed in a separate bash file, meaning that environment variables are not persisted. Is there a way to register the environment variable from hudson.
