  I think small exercises would be the baest way for me to learn programming. I am the begginer and I am willing to give plenty of time to this. To explain, to my opinion exercises should be something to write not long programs (10-30lines), to say what the program will print or that is the mistake. Who can help me and say where to maybe a website with such stuff? Thanks

• pointer uchar* question in opencv vc++ 2008

  img_hsv is a Mat element of an hsv image! when i give cout<<*img_hsv.data+10; it gives true value of the pixel ie 79 as output. but when i assign uchar * a=img_hsv.data+10; it gives me some other value... can you please explain me why is this the case? thanks!

Multiple-consumers is even better, if exists. I'm targetting VC's _Interlocked... intrinsics, though anything which is straight forward to port would be fine. Could anyone give any pointers?

  what is considered best practice when referring to a program's name? i've seen #define PROGRAM_NAME "myprog" printf("this is %s\n", PROGRAM_NAME); as well as printf("this is %s\n", argv[0]); i know, that the second approach will give me ./myprog rather than myprog when the program is not called from $PATH and that the first approach will guarantee consistence regarding the program's name. but is there anything else, that makes one approach superior to the other?
