• Google Maps: openInfoWindowTabsHtml + GDownloadUrl (Ajax call) question

  I am facing the following problem. On an Google Map I want to add info windows with tabs, where content is loaded from an external file using the GDownloadUrl method. The code works about fine, but with two problems. a) The first time I click on a marker, nothing hapens. I need to click twice to get an info box. After that it works ok. b) When I close an info box and open it again, the tabs repeat themselves. Every time I reopen the info box, those tabs get repeated. So, if using the code below and open the info box 3 times, I get 6 tabs (Info, Photos, Info, Photos, Info, Photos). Any idea of what I am doing wrong here?   I've read some documentation about hadoop and seen the impressive results. I get the bigger picture but am finding it hard whether it would fit our setup. Question isnt programming related but I'm eager to get opinion of people who currently work with hadoop and how it would fit our setup: We use Oracle for backend Java (Struts2/Servlets/iBatis) for frontend Nightly we get data which needs to be summarized. this runs as a batch process (takes 5 hours) We are looking for a way to cut those 5 hours to a shorter time. Where would hadoop fit into this picture? Can we still continue to use Oracle even after hadoop?

  We build software using Hudson and Maven. We have C#, java and last, but not least PL/SQL sources (sprocs, packages, DDL, crud) For C# and Java we do unit tests and code analysis, but we don't really know the health of our PL/SQL sources before we actually publish them to the target database. Requirements There are a couple of things we wan't to test in the following priority: Are the sources valid, hence "compilable"? For packages, with respect to a certain database, would they compile? Code Quality: Do we have code flaws like duplicates, too complex methods or other violations to a defined set of rules? Also, the tool must run head-less (commandline, ant, ...) we wan't to do analysis on a partial code base (changed sources only) Tools We did a little research and found the following tools that could potencially help: Cast Application Intelligence Platform (AIP): Seems to be a server that grasps information about "anything". Couldn't find a console version that would export in readable format. Toad for Oracle: The Professional version is said to include something called Xpert validates a set of rules against a code base. Sonar + PL/SQL-Plugin: Uses Toad for Oracle to display code-health the sonar-way. This is for browsing the current state of the code base. Semantic Designs DMSToolkit: Quite general analysis of source code base. Commandline available? Semantic Designs Clones Detector: Detects clones. But also via command line? Fortify Source Code Analyzer: Seems to be focussed on security issues. But maybe it is extensible? more... So far, Toad for Oracle together with Sonar seems to be an elegant solution. But may be we are missing something here? Any ideas? Other products? Experiences?   I'm getting the infamous invalid number Oracle error. Hibernate is issuing an INSERT with a lot of columns, I want to know just the name of the column giving the problem. Is it possible? I hate Oracle messages, in 15 years they haven't improved a bit (the reason why is beyond my imagination). Would you recommend creating a system user for the django project and use daemon mode? What type of user and what privileges does it need? • Readonly SiteMapNodes in ASP.Net MVC?

  I'm using MVCSiteMap as a SiteMapProvider for my MVC site. I have a node set up like so.... <mvcSiteMapNode key="1" title="Product" controller="Product" action="Display" isDynamic="true" dynamicParameters="id"> <mvcSiteMapNode key="11" title="More Details" controller="Product" action="MoreDetails" isDynamic="true" dynamicParameters="id" /> </mvcSiteMapNode> ...Which means I can go to ~/Product/Display/12 and get a correct sitemap node for product id 12 (in this case just Product. And I can go to ~/Product/MoreDetails/12 and get the sitemap path for the MoreDetails (Product - More Details). The problem is that the link back to Product in this sitemap doesn't work - it skips the id off the end, instead linking to ~/Product/Display/. Which sucks. I've discovered I can edit the Title of a node using SiteMap.CurrentNode.Title = "My New Title"; But... SiteMap.CurrentNode.ParentNode.Url = "http://www.google.com"; Doesn't set the Url for the parent node; it gets the default link described before. Any ideas how I can set the URL of a SiteMapNode?

The scenario includes several Oracle db machines several MS SQL Server machines with multiple instances windows services (IIS etc.) BizTalk EAI solution Apache and Tomcat instances lots of scheduled tasks on win2003 and win2008 machines (physical and virtual). The main focus is on capture all dependencies between said databases and services and tasks connecting to them. At the moment an enterprise class solution is not an option. We are considering developing a solution driven by PowerShell scripts but I hope for some more suggestions.

But when i run the report in SSRS and select more than 3 values for the parameter PI_REGION_LIST the report throws an error on this dataset, ora-00939 error,too many arguments for function. I am not able to figure out the error here. Please help me with an idea. Thanks in advance, Suni.

  Hi, I have been studying the database structure for shopping carts and notice that when storing order details the product information is repeated and stored again in the table. I was wondering what the reasoning behind this would be? Here is a small example of what i mean: Product Table product_id name desc price 1 product 1 This is product 1 27.00 Order Table order_id customer id order_total 1 3 34.99 Order Details Table order_details_id product_id product name price qty 1 1 product 1 27.00 1 So as you can see the product name and price are stored again in the order details table. Why is this? The only reason i can think of is because the product details may change after the order has been placed which may cause confusion. Is this correct? Thanks Paul

• ASP.NET Connection time out after being idle for a while

  My ASP.NET website while trying to connect to the database for first time after a period of inactivity throws an time out exception. I understand the connections in the connection pool get terminated after some idle time for some reason (Firewall or Oracle settings) and the pool or app doesn't have a clue about it. Is there any way to validate the connection beforehand so that the first try doesn't throw an exception? I don't have much control over the DB or Firewall settings. So I have to deal with this is my application.(would prefer if there is any web.config settings) I am using: ASP.NET 2.0. Oracle server 11g, Microsoft Enterprise Library DAAB to do all my DB operations. I did some search on this topic but didnt find any solid solution for this yet :(

That is way too expensive. Can someone clue me into a more efficient way to do this. I thought that if I did the first filter that would make things easier but seems to have no effect. I'm at a loss on this one. Thanks To be clear this is about 1500 employees -- Not too many!!

Other better solution is also welcomed (I cannot strip all the non-alphanum characters as they can make sense).

• DDNS Not Creating Journal (Dhcpd and Named)

  * EDIT 1 * After monkeying with additional debug logging I see some log entries of interest. 27-Jul-2012 23:45:26.537 general: error: zone example.lan/IN/internal: journal rollforward failed: no more 27-Jul-2012 23:45:26.537 general: error: zone example.lan/IN/internal: not loaded due to errors. ^^^ If I can remedy the above messages I think I'll be good to go ^^^ * EDIT 2 * Grasping at straws I touched a forward and a reverse zone journal file and restarted named. Boom! Works. Despite documentation stating the files are created automatically and what I have seen before... dunno why but that did the trick. Also re-checked perms on the dir the files live in. As certain as I was, they were correct with named having rw. CentOS 6 (final) dhcpd 4.1.1-P1 named BIND 9.8.2rc1-RedHat-9.8.2-0.10.rc1.el6 Basic DHCP and DNS functionality are in place on 192.168.111.2. Clients are assigned addresses as intended and can resolve local DNS names as well as Internet names. My problem is that named's zone journal files are not created. chroot: /var/named/chroot I tried placing the zone files in various directories (/var/named/data, /var/named, /var/named/dynamic - no matter which dir with named owning and wide open perms I now get nowhere). Along the way I, at one point, got a permission denied when named tried to create the journal. Resolved the issue by: chown --recursive named:named /var/named chmod --recursive 777 /var/named The journal was then created and here's where things fell apart. I attempted to tame permissions to something more sane and broke it. Once changed and having restarted named it threw an error indicating the journal was out of sync (or something to that affect)... didn't matter since this is a new setup so I deleted it and now it is not recreated. Now though I see no errors in /var/log/messages, my chrooted /var/log/named.log, or chrooted /var/log/named.debug. I increased the debug level with 'rndc trace' - no love. Increased trace to 10, still nothing. SELinux is disabled...
