  • Proxy within a proxy, tunneling?

    At work there is a proxy that (understandably) blocks all ports except web ones. However, during lunch hours you are allowed to play online games. But as ports are blocked, multiplayer games are out of the question. So I was wondering, could I set up a tunnel on a web port, that would then allow me to access those blocked ports, through the port 80 tunnel whilst still being behind the work proxy? This is in a Windows environment.

  • Enso application crashes.

    I've been a fan of enso http://www.humanized.com/enso/ for quite a while, but for the past several years I've had problems with it crashing, I've never been able to get it work reliably with Windows 7. Has anyone had any luck with this? I've tried the open source edition but it hasn't been any better (when I can get it to install at all) and development is moving pretty slowly. Has anyone had any luck getting enso to work reliably on Vista or 7?

  • How do I completely uninstall mySQL on XP, including the root password?

    All I need is to be able to log in using root, but have forgotten the password. None of the steps to reset i found online work (i don't even have some of the executables mentioned such as mysql-nt.exe) However I have no problem deleting all databases (i have scripts) and intallations and starting completely from scratch... but uninstalling and deleting directories doesn't work. I don't have a password set so this intermediate screen serves no purpose - just one wasted mouse click and an unnecessary wait every time. How do I disable this so that I go from hibernating directly into my desktop without a click?

  • There are currently no logon servers available

    we are using free-ipaserver(192.168.0.200) on fedora, clients are windows xp. we are successfully added two xp clients(m01(192.168.0.60, m02(192.168.0.61) on test environment. and also our server name is ipaserver & domain name is xyz.com , samba has been configured working fine. problem is whenever we access from one xp machine another xp machine we are getting this error, There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request, please give the solutions.

  • Speed up MySQL for inserts (for testing purposes)

    I have a bit of software that needs to do a lot of INSERTs. In production environment there'll be some serious tweaking and testing and stuff like that, but now when I need to test it I'd like to speed up inserts as much as possible. Hence my question - is there a way to tweak mysql such that it doesn't do much disk I/O but keeps everything in RAM and syncs with disk rarely(like once n-seconds say?)

    I've got to work on a POS-type web application for a money transfer, shipping, and other customer services like translation and help-out charges. I was planning to do that in pure PHP without frameworks or CMS's, but then Drupal came into play and I'm wondering if I should learn Drupal and do the app with it. My question is, is Drupal good for such a work, and if it is will it take me more than a week to learn enough to make it possible? For info, I'm a decent PHP programmer.

  • Android Webview Anchor Link (Jump link) not working

    Hi, I have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor. This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work. Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView? I am using API v4 (1.6).

  • WPF, PreviewKeyDown event and underscore char

    Hi, I'm catching key hits with PreviewKeyDown event in my WPF component. I need to distinguish characters being typed: letters vs. numbers vs. underscore vs. anything else. Letters and numbers work fine (just convert the Key property of the KeyEventArgs object to string and work with character 0 of that string), but this won't work for underscore. It's ToString value depends on localized keyboard settings (it shows up as "OemMinus" on EN/US keyboard and "OemQuestion" on CZ/QWERTY keyboard). So how can I RELIABLY find out, if the typed char is underscore in the PreviewKeyDown event? Thanks for any help

  • Flash 10 (AS3): Pass Parameters to fscommand (from Projector)?

    Here is my shell script (fscommand/blah.sh): open -a /Applications/TextMate.app/ $1 and here is my ActionScript 3.0: flash.system.fscommand("exec", "blah.sh blah.txt"); this does not work. If I get rid of the $1 from the shell script and the blah.txt it works fine. How can I pass parameters to the shell script? (yes, the shell script works fine with the parameter when called from the command line). Note: This is on OSX but I need this to work on Windows as well. Edit: "Doesn't work" also means no trace, no error :)

  • Reload Grid not working for mutiple jqgrid

    I am using jqgrid.My page has three tabs and each tab contains a different grid.All grids have different ids.The content of tabs is fetched via AJAX request lazily.Now after all three grids are rendered and i try to reload grid via function jQuery("#myOffersTable").trigger('reloadGrid'); Only the grid which loaded last reloads and it doesn't work for other grids. eg if grids load seq is : 1-2-3 then this code will only work for grid 3 but if seq is 3-2-1 then it will work only for 1. But if i try reloading grids using reload button on navigator bar it works fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Arun

I need to scroll datagrid to the point user can see the selection. I also tried "BringIntoView" as well but no luck.

    I have an ASP.NET form with three text inputs, one each for "Work Phone", "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone". Each of these text inputs has a RequiredFieldValidator associated with it. I also have a DropDownList where the user can select the preferred phone type. I want to only require the field that is selected in the DropDownList. For example, if the user selects "Work Phone" from the DropDownList, I want to disable the RequiredFieldValidator for "Home Phone" and "Cell Phone", thereby only making the "Work Phone" field required. I have a method that enables and disables these validators based on the value of the DropDownList, but I cannot figure out when to call it. I want this method to run before the validation takes place on the page. How would I do that? Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.

    What is the correct way to find the absolute path to the App_Data folder from a Controller in an ASP.NET MVC project? I'd like to be able to temporarily work with an .xml file and I don't want to hardcode the path. This does not work: [HandleError] public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { string path = VirtualPathUtility.ToAbsolute("~/App_Data/somedata.xml"); //.... do whatever return View(); } } I think outside of the web context VirtualPathUtility.ToAbsolute() doesn't work. string path comes back as "C:\App_Data\somedata.xml" Where should I determine the path of the .xml file in an MVC app? global.asax and stick it an application-level variable?

  • ADO Entity Framework 4 to WPF Datagrid. DatagridComboBox nightmare.

    The WPF datagrid -seems- like it's going to work, but the combobox implementation does not work straight from the designer. So I'm left wandering around in the XAML randomly changing things trying to get it to work. The problems are numerous. I want to display a foreign key relationship (with drop down) instead of a bunch of numbers for a selection. It seems like it shouldn't be this hard. I can get the right values to show up (their description instead of an ID), but the table freaks out thinking that all the values have been modified. If I select a drop down, it refuses to allow me to edit anything else. I want to chalk this up as a .NET bug, but since I'm new to WPF datagrids, it's probably just me.     I just installed VS2010 RC and launched the FullDuplex sample from NServiceBus 2.0.0.1145 and it ran fine. I then changed the target framework of each project in the solution to ".NET Framework 4", recompiled and launched in the debugger and received the following exception: System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled Message=No endpoint configuration found in scanned assemblies. This usually happens when NServiceBus fails to load your assembly contaning IConfigureThisEndpoint.     Hi all, I'm using the function preg_replace but I cannot figure out how to make it work, the function just doesn't seem to work for me. What I'm trying to do is to convert a string into a link if any word contains the % (percentage) character. For instance if I have the string "go to %mysite", I'd like to convert the mysite word into a link. I tried the following... $data = "go to %mysite"; $result = preg_replace('/(^|[\s.\,\:\;]+)%([A-Za-z0-9]{1,64})/e', '\1%\2', $data); ...but it doesn't work.
