  • CSS RGBA border / background alpha double

    I'm working on a website that has a lot of transparency involved, and I thought I would try to build it entirely in RGBA and then do fallbacks for IE. I need a "facebox" style border effect, where the outer border is rounded and is less opaque than the background of the box it surrounds. The last example from http://24ways.org/2009/working-with-rgba-colour seems to suggest that it's possible, but I can't seem to get it to work. Thus, when both the background and the border are semi-transparent, the border will ALWAYS be more opaque than the background of the element. This is exactly the opposite of what I am trying to achieve, but it seems like it should be possible based on the examples I've seen. I should also add that I can't use another element inside the container, because I'm also going to use a border-radius on the container to get rounded corners, and webkit squares the corners of the child elements if they have a background assigned, which would essentially mean a rounded outer border with square contents. I've searched about web form hacking and I've only received information about PHP and SQL... my site only uses a single PHP file, very basic etc. Would it be open to any exploits?   • C# Persistent WebClient

    I have a class written in C# (Windows Forms) It's a WebClient class which I intent to use in some website and for Logging In and navigation. Here's the complete class pastebin.com (the class has 197 lines so I just use pastebin. Sorry if I made a little bit harder for you to read the class, also below this post) The problem is, am not sure why it's not persistent .. I was able to log in, but when I navigate to other page (without leaving the domain), I was thrown back to log in page. Can you help me solving this problem? one issue though is, the site I was trying to connect is "HTTPS" protocol. I have not yet tested this on just a regular HTTP. But when posting, something happens, and my model is considered invalid, and it cannot insert. The 21 is not an unique id, but the pair 28383, #21 is unique. How can I do this in Rails? Do I have to change the routes? the model?   • Is it possible to LIMIT results from a JOIN query?

    I've got a query that currently queries a Post table while LEFT JOINing a Comment table. It fetches all Posts and their respective Comments. However, I want to limit the number of Comments returned. I tried adding a sub-select, but ran into errors if I didn't LIMIT the results to 1. I'm really not sure how to go about this while still using only one query. Is this possible?

However I'm thinking about the scunthorpe problem.   • Send data to LPT on windows XP

    I want to send data to a printer on LPT1 and i trying exactly this but my CreateFile returns -1 (The system cannot find the file specified.Exception from HRESULT:0x80070002). How to open LPT1 port and send data to? I am trying this on XP and after that in win7 64 bit because from what i've read working with LPT in win7 64 bit is a bit of a problem, or should i say 64 bit of a problem:) PS:Since it's my first post this year: Happy New year to everybody.
