  I have created a java applet (.class file) and made a .jar with it and digitally signed the .jar file. Now I need to run the .jar as an applet in firefox. What do I put in the html code to run the .jar file as an applet? I tried and it doesn't work, it tries to get a .class file, how do I load and run my applet as a .jar file using the applet tag in Internet Explorer and Firefox? I searched on the internet and could not find an answer.

  I am involved in developing a portal with a public-facing side. For this i created a web application with windows authentication for intranet zone and after that, I created an extension for an internet zone with fba. In the internet extension we have the following requirement: - able to acess to sharepoint backoffice using fba. - have a authentication mecanism for portal visitors, where they can authenticate and acess to a page where they can subscribe the newsletter and define some site appearance (this users can't acess to sharepoint backoffice). My idea is use the aspnet membership provider to authenticate both users and create diferente roles for them. Anyone suggests another approach? Is there any way to ensure that visitors (2 case) do not enter the backoffice portal? Thanks

  They seem to open in an internet explorer type window, does anyone know: How long have HTA files been around? Have they been around since Windows 98? Do they rely on Internet Explorer being installed, and/or a certain version of it? If you choose another browser on the browser selection screen update for Windows 7, will HTA files still work? Do HTA files open on other browsers? Are HTA files windows-only? There is a huge lack of documentation on google about HTA files, so it's tricky to work out. I need to present the client with a list of minimum requirements to ensure our HTA content CD will work.

  I have a test suite DLL written in C# that uses Selenium.This is then loaded into NUnit and tests can be performed on our embedded web server boards. Does anyone know how to run a NUnit Selenium test on multiple IPs in multiple browsers? I have tried creating multiple DefaultSelenium classes but they point to the same Internet Explorer window. I need multiple instances of the Selenium RC controlling individual Internet Explorer windows. I used Socket s = new Socket(ip, port) Now it works fine. but when my internet connection is very slow that time after a long interval (even if sometimes after 2 minutes) i used to get SocketTimeOutException in that line. means it gives that error while creating socket. I want the exception should be handled properly means if internet connection is very slow then if that error occurs it happens very late now . I want if this type of error occurs then it should be caught very fast means the error should not come at such a delay interval of time rather it should come immediately. How to achieve this. This is the error message I receive: You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed. HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. Internet Information Services (IIS) So it is obvious what needs to be fixed, so: 1) Start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. 2) Right-click the Web site that contains the SharePoint Web site that you created, and then click Properties. 3) Click the Home Directory tab. 4) Under Application settings, click either Scripts only in the Execute permissions list or Scripts and Executables in the Execute permissions list (as appropriate to your situation). Click OK. 5) Quit IIS Manager. But I'm still getting the same error. So what else could be wrong?

  I'm using Eclipse's create InstallOptions menu to create a custom INI page with radio-buttons for repackaging the Blackberry Desktop installer. There are 2 sections for each type: "Internet" and "Enterprise". I need a user to select 1 of the 2 options and depending on their selection, the page will carry over the selection chosen in the custom page, jump to the INSTFILES page, and continue onto the end.   Hi there, Im using entity framework 1.0 and trying to feed out a Gridview with a objectdatasource that have access to my facade. The problem is, that it seems to be particulary difficult and haven't seen anything that realy do what i want it to do on the internet. For those who know, a gridview feeded with an objectdatasource, it can't sort automaticaly then you must do it manually. It's not that bad. Where it becomes a nightmare, its when we add paging and filter settings to a gridview's datasource. After many hours searching on the internet, i'm asking you, guys, if anyone knows a link that can explain me how to mix Pagging, Sorting and filtering for a gridview and an objectdatasource!   System: Window 7 Internet Explorer 8 Ruby 1.8 Watir 1.6.5 If I manually open a browser window and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open and then use the Watir::IE.attach method to find the second browser window everything work fine. The problem is when I open the first Internet Explorer window with the command Watir::IE.new and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open. • Replicating MySQL DB to development machine - bad idea?

  I am considering replicating a production MySQL database to my development machine so I've always got current data. The production database is externally hosted. My development machine is behind an unreliable internet connection. It is entirely possible that the development machine could be disconnected from the internet for extended periods of time (hours). Would there be any adverse effect on the production database by doing this? (I don't strictly need live data - but it would be nice, and good excuse to dabble with replication. If the consensus is that this is a bad idea, I'll set up a daily job to import the previous night's backup into my development database)

  Could someone tell me how I can capture a NSParseErrorException? The Situation: my app downloads a small .plist file. I convert this into dictionary using the string method -propertylist. This normally works fine. I check for a connection before going to retrieve the file, so it works fine if I've got a connection to the internet, and works fine when I don't. However, I discovered a use case that crashes. If I'm at location that requires authetication before connecting to the internet (at Starbucks, say) what's being returned by the app isn't a plist and the attempt to parse it causes the application to crash. So is there a way to transform my code so that the NSParseErrorException is caught and rather than crashing the program I can just skip over this piece of code? NSDictionary *temp = [myDownloadString propertyList]; I tried doing this if ([myDownloadString propertyList]==NSParseErrorException){ //do something } but that didn't work.

  I've written an application that retrieves pricing and part options from a SQL database to generate a 3D Model of the product and create a sales proposal. My client likes it so much they want to be able to use it on laptops in the field now. The catch is, they won't have an internet connection. The content of each tabs is determined by XMLs on the Internet, and it could be WebView for HTML rendering, GridView for photo displaying, etc. I'm going to delay downloading of those XML until the tab is clicked.   Hi all, My query is related to broadband network deployment. I have a DSL modem connection provided by my operator. Now the DSL modem has a built-in NAT and DHCP server, hence it allocates IP addresses to any client devices (laptops, PC, mobile) that connect to it. However, the DSL modem also gets a public IP address X that is provisioned by the operator. My question is Whether this IP address X provisioned by operator is an IP address that is directly on the public Internet? Is it likely (practical scenario) that my broadband operator will put in one more NAT+DHCP server and provide IP addresses to all the modems within his broadband network. In this case, the IP addresses allotted to the modem devices will not be directly on the public Internet. Thanks in advance.

  I have a Python script that writes short messages to the serial port on my Arduino Uno board using pySerial. There is a loop and depending on some conditions, multiple writes can happen within a loop, something like this: while True: #Conditions block 1 if <CONDITION1>: serial.writelines("INIT") elif <CONDITION2>: serial.writelines("NEW") ... #Conditions block 2 if <CONDITION1>: # Fetch something from the Internet serial.writelines("CHECK") elif <CONDITION2>: # Fetch something from the Internet serial.writelines("STOP") ... But, when my Arduino board receives this it receives the first message as INIT, but the second one is being read as INITSTOP or INITCHECK and third one gets concatenated to the previous messages. My arduino program checks for specific message in this way: if(msg.equals("CHECK")) { // Do something } else if(msg.equals("INIT")) { // Do Something else } Can anyone guide me on this? BTW, I don't think the problem is with the Arduino as it works perfectly when I test it with the Serial Monitor available with the IDE. I've tried adding sleeps of upto 10 seconds before every write, but that did not work out.
