  • Showing same dfp ads in a single page web application

    I have a single page web application which contains dfp ads. I have two dfp adunits that Iam firing and they are placed in between the content which is a list of articles for a particular category. When I click on another category,it just loads articles for different category(doesnt change the url in address bar) and triggers the same ads. So this is like triggering the ads on the same page. The ads dont show up the second time and this is because you cant use the same adunits on the same page. Since I cannot use the refresh function provided by dfp since my DOM is reconstructed everytime, is there any way I can do this?.

  • Delete an entity by key without fetching it first in app engine (using JDO)

    Is there a way to delete an entity without having to fetch it from the datastore first? I am assuming I already have the key or id for the entity. I'm thinking of something like deleteObjectById that would be an analogue to getObjectById on PersistenceManager. The closest I can think of is using Query.deletePersistentAll() (as seen here) and specifying a query that only relies on the key, but I can't tell if that is going to fetch the entity before deleting it. thanks EDIT: I know how to do this using the low level API, as well as in the python API. I was wondering if there was a way to do it within the JDO layer.

    I'm using chrome (the dev version for my mac). I was looking at the timeline for my page loading and I saw that there is a 150ms delay due to some garbage collection taking place while loading the page. http://cl.ly/cce10619c698a5b276e2 It's the yellow line. I was curious if there's any way to stop this, delay it, whatever so I get the page to load faster? G-Man

    Does anyone have tried to implement an app in GAE having both java and python? I have an existing app and my front end is in java. Now I want to use the existing datastore to be interfaced by python. My problem is i don't know how to define the relationships and model that would be equivalent to the one in java. I have tried the one-to-many relationship in python but when stored in the datastore, the fields are different than the one-to-many of java.     Some pages on my website appear differently depending on where the user has been, using php sessions. for example with breadcrumbs: standard crumb setup: All Books - fiction - Lord Of the Flies if the visitor has just been on the 'William Golding Page', a session will have been created to say, this visitor is broswing by author, so i would check if( $_SESSION['browsing by] == 'author' ): and the breadcrumbs (for the exact same page as before) would now be: Authors - William Golding - Lord Of the Flies to summarise: So 1 page exists for each book, but depending where the user has come from, the page will show different breadcrumbs. the questions: Can search engines create my 'browsing by' SESSION? Would they index the same page multiple times (for each variation)?

  • two instances of tinymce with jquery ui causes chrome page to hang and be not responding

    in the cpanel that i'm developing thre is a department for articles in arabic and english so i used two tinymce editors one for arabic and the other is for english it works as expected, but the problem is that when i'm using chrome browser the page suddenly become not responding and never come back and i need to restart it but in IE8 no problem at all. i've found in chrome task manager that the memory usage of the page is over 22 kilobyte. i'm also using jquery ui. i've tried the following 1- using jquery plugin the compressor tiny_mce_gzip.php 2- decreasing the plugins of tinymce [ispell,layers,..] what is the solution or what is the cause

    I was trying to implement an image panner I found here Chrome renders the same document differently depending on the extension of the file requested. I have created a test case, where it works when the file it's not named as test.xhtml You can download the test case from here Does anybody know why or how to solve it? I want my files to be .xhtml In IE and FF it works fine.   • Chrome extension - Localstorage not working

    I'm writing a Chrome extension that uses a content script to modify certain parts of a website. The content script worked fine until I tried to add an options page to my extension.     I added this line to my .bashrc (Ubuntu 9.10): export PYTHONPATH=/opt/google_appengine/ And then I ran the dev_appserver through python2.5 on Ubuntu like this: $ python2.5 dev_appserver.py guestbook/ python2.5: can't open file 'dev_appserver.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory As you can see, it can't find dev_appserver.py even though it's in my /opt/google_appengine/ directory. Just to make sure it's not a permissions issue I did this: sudo chmod a+rwx dev_appserver.py To check whether it's been added to the system path for python2.5 I did this: $ python2.5 Python 2.5.5 (r255:77872, Apr 29 2010, 23:59:20) [GCC 4.4.1] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import sys >>> for line in sys.path: print line ... /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/setuptools-0.6c9-py2.5.egg /opt/google_appengine/demos /opt/google_appengine /usr/local/lib/python25.zip ...   • Debugging Post Request with Chrome Dev Tools

    I am trying to use Chrome Dev for debugging the following Angular post request : $http.post("http://picjboss.puma.lan:8880/fluxpousse/api/flow/createOrUpdateHeader", flowHeader) After running the statement with right-click / evaluate, I can see the post in the network panel with a pending state. How can I get the result or "commit" the request and leave easily this "pending" state from the dev console ? I am not yet very familiar with JS callbacks, some code is expected. Thanks.   • How to catch an expected (and intended) 302 Ajax response?

    So, if you look back at my previous question about Exchange Autodiscover, you'll see that the easiet way to get the autodiscover URL is to send a non-secure, non-authenticated GET request to the server, ala: http://autodiscover.exchangeserver.org/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml The server will respond with a 302 redirect with the correct url in the Location header. I'm trying out something really simple at first with a Chrome extension, where I have: if (req.readyState==4 && req.status==302) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } With another ajax call set up with the full XML Post and the user credentials, But instead Chrome hangs at this point, and a look at the developer panel shows that it is not returning back the response but instead is acting like no response was given, meanwhile showing a Uncaught Error: NETWORK_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 101 in the error log. The way I see it, refering to the exact response status is about the same as "catching" it, but I'm not sure if the problem is with Chrome/WebKit or if this is how XHR requests always handle redirects. I'm not sure how to catch this so that I can get still get the headers from the response. Or would it be possible to set up a secondary XHR such that when it gets the 302, it sends a totally different request? Quick Update I just changed it so that it doesn't check the response code: if (req.readyState==4) { return req.getResponseHeader("Location"); } and instead when I alert out the value it's null. and there is still the same error and no response in the dev console. SO it seems like it either doesn't track 302 responses as responses, or something happens after that wipes that response out?

  • App Engine: Launching a script upon update/run

    Hi all. I'm working with App Engine and I'm thinking about using the LESS CSS extension in my next project. There's no good LESS CSS library written in Python so I went on with the original Ruby one which works great and out of the box. I'd like App Engine to execute lessc ./templates/css/style.less before running the development server and before uploading the files to the cloud. What is the best way to automate this? I'm thinking: #run.sh: lessc ./templates/css/style.less .gae/dev_appserver.py --use_sqlite . And #deploy.sh lessc ./templates/css/style.less .gae/appcfg.py update . Am I on the correct path or is there a more elegant way of doing things, perhaps at the appcfg.py level? Thanks.

But the response is lost, in the console ---type of data = String ---data in function = So for some reason I am not getting the response back. Works from the browser. I even tried doing a get against cnn.com and got no response. any ideas? thanks

  • App-Engine Parse a UrlFetch UTF-8 encoded stream

    I am trying to parse an XML from a URL using the xml.sax parser. I know there are other libraries to use but coming from Java this is the one I am most familiar with and seems the least complicated to me. The code I'm using to parse is as follows: parser = xml.sax.make_parser() handler = MangaHandler() parser.setContentHandler(handler) url = urlfetch.Fetch('http://www.mangapanda.com/alphabetical', allow_truncated = False, follow_redirects = False, deadline = False) xml.sax.parseString(url.content, handler) This returns a SaxException (invalid token) once the parser reaches the first & sign: SAXParseException: <unknown>:582:34: not well-formed (invalid token) Because urlfetch returns a string and not a stream I cannot use the parse() (which only works with streams) and am left to use parseString() instead. To see if parsing as a stream would fix this I tried: parser.parse(io.StringIO(url.content).encode('utf-8')) but this returns: TypeError: initial_value must be unicode or None, not str I have also tried to use the urllib2 libraries which do return a stream instead of urlfetch but the file is too large and is automatically truncated, leaving me with missing data. Any Sort of work-around for this would be greatly appreciated as I've spent days getting around one obstacle just to be stopped by another.

    Hi, Is there a way to guarantee a task to be performed in X minutes (or after X min) ? (rate would mean the intervals between tasks but what about the first task, would the first task starts after the 'rate' time?)
