• CentOS 5.4 NFS v4 client file permissions differ from original files & NFS Share file contents

  Having a strange problem with NFS share and file permissions on the 1 out of the 2 NFS clients, web1 has file permissions issues but web2 is fine. web1 and web2 are load balanced web servers. So questions are: how do I ensure NFS share file contents retain the same permissions for user/group as the original files on web1 server like they do on web2 server ? how do I reverse what I did on web1, i tried unmount command and said command not found ? Information: I'm using 3 dedicated server setup. All 3 servers CentOS 5.4 64bit based. servers are as follows: web1 - nfs client with file permissions issues web2 - nfs client file permissions are OKAY db1 - nfs share at /nfsroot web2 nfs client was setup by my web host, while web1 was setup by me. I did the following commands on web1 and it worked with updating db1 nfsroot share at /nfsroot/site_css with latest files on web1 but the file permissions don't stick even if i use tar with -p command to perserve file permissions ? cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zcp site_css/ > site_css.tar.gz mount -t nfs4 nfsshareipaddress:/site_css /home/username/public_html/forums/scripts/site_css/ -o rw,soft cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zxf site_css.tar.gz But checking on web1 file permissions no longer username user/group but owned by nobody ? but web2 file permissions correct ? This is only a problem for web1 while web2 is correct ? Looks like numeric ids aren't the same ? • django modelformset - one form per related table row

  Hello, I have two models: class Model1(): name = CharField() url = CharField() class Model2(): model1 = ForeignKey(Model1) user = ForeignKey(User) zzz = CharField() There are 5 rows for model1 in the database, these are fixed and will rarely change. I need to display a formset for model2 that allows users to enter the zzz value, the formset must always show one form per row in the model1 table, the label for each form in the formset must be the name of the related model1. If the user deletes a model2 in the formset the next time the page loads it will render an empty zzz value for that form and the user must be able to edit the previous zzz value - meaning it must be pre populated with all model2 rows associated with the user. The idea is to print each row in the model1 table as a form instead of the user selecting the related model1 name in a select box. I know its not that complicated, but I'm seriously stumped and keep going round in circles!! Many thanks in advance. • Formula for calculating Exotic wagers such as Trifecta and Superfecta

  I am trying to create an application that will calculate the cost of exotic parimutuel wager costs. I have found several for certain types of bets but never one that solves all the scenarios for a single bet type. If I could find an algorithm that could calculate all the possible combinations I could use that formula to solve my other problems. Additional information: I need to calculate the permutations of groups of numbers.   I've been using the Infragistics UltraWinGrid for a while in a C# project, and while it's very spiffy, it is sometimes a bit heavy to run (and editing it in Visual Studio can be hazardous). I'm looking for a lighter alternative. Looks (always a big plus with Infragistics) are not as important as functionality. Namely, I'm looking for a beefed up DataGridView which: has data binding (duh!) has lock control over editing allows for sub-tables on opening a row can have multiple headers to group columns together (say header 1 is composed of "Group A" and "Group B", and header 2 has various columns under each group) has sorting by column (and can sort numbers properly, even if it does not have a stock method at first) has filtering by column (perhaps the most demanding spec) à la UltraWinGrid/Excel (text field with a way to specify if the filter is equal, not equal, greater, lesser, starts with, ends with, etc). supports check box, text box or data bound list/combo box cells allows cells to be merged (not the control cells of course!) can have events bound to each row (say double click)

  Hello everyone I just read the new User fql table fields at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/fql/user As I can see a lot of the fields have been deprecated such as work_history or books and movies. It is quite essential for my app to get all those fields for my user's friends in a single fql query. If i am not wrong the only way to do this is to get those extra fields using the Graph API by requesting them seperately for every friend of my user. Is there any way to do it in a more efficient way without so many calls? Can I subscribe to real time updates for the request fields for my user's friends (i do not care about the logged in user data)? Thank you a lot

• Help with SVN+SSH permissions with CentOS/WHM setup

  Hi Folks, I'll try my best to explain how I'm trying to set up this system. Imagine a production server running WHM with various sites. We'll call these sites... site1, site2, site2 Now, with the WHM setup, each site has a user/group defined for them, we'll keep these users/groups called site1,site2 for simplicity reasons. Now, updating these sites is accomplished using SVN, and through the use of a post commit script to auto update these sites (With .svn blocked through the apache configuration). There are two regular maintainers of these sites, we'll call them Joe and Bob. Joe and Bob both have commandline access to the server through thier respective limited accounts. So I've done the easy bit, managed to get SVN working with these "maintainers" so that when an SVN commit occurs, the changes are checked out and go live perfectly. Here's the cavet, and ultimately my problem. User permissions. Through my testing of this setup, I've only managed to get it working by giving what is being updated permissions of 777, so that Joe and Bob can both read and write access to webfront directories for each of the sites. So, an example of how it's set up now: Joe and Bob both belong to a group called "Dev". I have the master /svn folders set up for both read and write access to this group, and it works great. Post commit triggers, updates the site, and then sets 777 on each file within the webfront. I then changed this to try and factor in group permission updates, instead of straight 777. Each folder in /home/site1/public_html intially gets given a chmod of 664, and each folder 775 Which looks a little something like this drwxrwxr-x . drwxrwxr-x .. drwxrwxr-x site1 site1 my_test_folder -rw-rw-r-- site1 site1 my_test_file So site1 is sthe owner and group owner of those files and folders. So I then added site1 to Joe and Bobs secondary groups so that the SVN update will correctly allow access to these files. Herein lies the problem now. When I wish to add a file or folder to /home/site1, say Bobs_file, it then looks like this drwxrwxr-x . drwxrwxr-x .. drwxr-xr-x Bob dev bobs_folder drwxrwxr-x site1 site1 my_test_folder -rw-rw-r-- Bob dev bobs_file -rw-rw-r-- site1 site1 my_test_file How can I get it so that with the set of user permissions Bob has available, to change the owner and group owner of that file to reflect "site1" "site1". As Bob belongs to Dev I can set the permissions correctly with CHMOd, but It appears CHGRP is throwing back operation errors. Now this was long winded enough to give an overview of exactly what I'm trying to accomplish, just incase I'm going about this arse-over-tit and there's a far easier solution. Here's my goals 2 people to update multiple user accounts specified given the structure of WHM Trying to maintain master user/group permissions of file and folders to the original user account, and not the account of the updatee. I like the security of SVN+SSH over just SVN. Don't want to run all this over root. I hope this made sense, and thanks in advance :)

If I use this query: SELECT MAX(id), fromid, toid, message FROM pro_messages WHERE toid=00003 GROUP BY fromid I do not get last message sent from user "fromid" to user "toid" but the first message sent. Can I do that in some other way or I need to do it with two queries or join tables? id - message id fromid - id of user who sent message toid - id of user who receive message (in this case user 00003)

  An alternative title might be: Check for existence of multiple rows? Using a combination of SQL and C# I want a method to return true if all products in a list exist in a table. If it can be done in all in SQL that would be preferable. I have written a method that returns whether a single productID exists using the following SQL: SELECT productID FROM Products WHERE ProductID = @productID If this returns a row, then the c# method returns true, false otherwise. Now I'm wondering if I have a list of product IDs (not a huge list mind you, normally under 20). How can I write a query that will return a row if all the product id's exist and no row if one or more product id's does not exist? (Maybe something involving "IN" like: SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ProductID IN (1, 10, 100))

So affiliations has 3 columns , user_id, organization_id and affiliationtype_id I can do: o = Organization.find(:first) o.affiliatons[0].user and get the user now I wish to do this: has_permission_on [:organizations], :to => :edit do if_attribute (...) end That if_attribute should see if the current user is the organization.affiliation[?].user and if the organization.affiliation[?].affiliationtype_id = "3" I hope this is syntax issue ... I really need to get this working.

Since I dont have any user interaction in a nightly batch process, I cannot use the ConnectToFaceBook method on the FaceBookService to obtain a sessionKey for the user. Ideally I would like to prompt for authorization and extended permissions for my desktop app when a user logins into the web front end then save the sessionKey and uid in the database. At night when my process runs, I would reference the sessionKey and uid in order and update the user's status. I am finding myself fumbling between whether or not my app should be a web or desktop app. Having both a web and desktop app would be confusing to my users, because they would have to grant/manage permissions for both apps. I am using webservice to create Order in Oracle database and websvc will give a response (OrderNumber) and I will inform customer that his Order (OrderNumber) is generated My problem The creation of order is taking too much time in backend system and user is keeping refreshing the page, On each refresh user is coming back to Order create Page, so user is able to click on create Order button again In such cases multiple orders are creating for same orderlines.I can restrict user to create only one order per session in case I got order number in websvc response and I can give ordernumber to customer in next page But real problem come when I didn't get response(Ordernumber) and user is refreshing page. request is already went to Backend system and it will create order and my applicaion will not get response Is there any method in PHP where we can asyncronously check the status of order if first request is initiated by user and it doesn't matter the furthur page navigation Please help me out.. • CentOS 5.4 NFS v4 client file permissions differ from original files & NFS Share file contents

  Having a strange problem with NFS share and file permissions on the 1 out of the 2 NFS clients, web1 has file permissions issues but web2 is fine. web1 and web2 are load balanced web servers. So questions are: how do I ensure NFS share file contents retain the same permissions for user/group as the original files on web1 server like they do on web2 server ? how do I reverse what I did on web1, i tried unmount command and said command not found ? Information: I'm using 3 dedicated server setup. All 3 servers CentOS 5.4 64bit based. servers are as follows: web1 - nfs client with file permissions issues web2 - nfs client file permissions are OKAY db1 - nfs share at /nfsroot web2 nfs client was setup by my web host, while web1 was setup by me. I did the following commands on web1 and it worked with updating db1 nfsroot share at /nfsroot/site_css with latest files on web1 but the file permissions don't stick even if i use tar with -p command to perserve file permissions ? cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zcp site_css/ > site_css.tar.gz mount -t nfs4 nfsshareipaddress:/site_css /home/username/public_html/forums/scripts/site_css/ -o rw,soft cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zxf site_css.tar.gz But checking on web1 file permissions no longer username user/group but owned by nobody ? but web2 file permissions correct ? This is only a problem for web1 while web2 is correct ? Looks like numeric ids aren't the same ?   I have a form for address information. One of the fields is for the address country. Currently this is just a textbox. I would like a drop down list (of ISO 3166 countries) for this. I'm a django newbie so I haven't even used a Django Select widget yet. What is a good way to do this? Hard-code the choices in a file somewhere? Put them in the database? In the template?
