• How do I find out what the windows constants like WM_MOUSEMOVE and WM_MOUSEDOWN are if I'm using C#?

  I'm writing some code that uses some unmanaged calls into user32 functions such as SetWindowsHookEx, etc. This requires me to use lots of constants that I'm not sure what their value is. For example, if I want to set the hook as a low-level mouse hook I need to know that WM_MOUSE_LL = 14. Where can I look these up? I need to know what WM_MOUSEMOVE, WM_MOUSEDOWN, and more are. When I'm dealing with interop code, what is the easiest way for me to find these? Is it possible for me to import them into C# so they will be defined?

• Workaround for the Mono PrivateFontCollection.AddFontFile bug

  When I call the PrivateFontCollection.AddFontFile method in Mono.net It always returns a standard font-family. This bug has already been reported on several websites, but as far as I know without a way to solve it. The bug itself isn't fixed in the Mono-libraries yet. Is there any workaround for it? EDIT: As a reaction on henchman's answer I will post the code: PrivateFontCollection pfc = new PrivateFontCollection(); pfc.AddFontFile("myFontFamily.ttf"); myFontFamily = pfc.Families[0x00]; Font myFont = new Font(myFontFamily,14.0f); I know this code will work fine on the Microsoft.Net framework, but when executing on Mono, it just gives a standard font-family (I think it is Arial) with the name of myFontFamily.ttf

• Flex 4 - Using .pfm/.pfb fonts

  Hi everyone, I just switched to Flash Builder 4 & Flex 4 SDK, and it seems it's no longer possible to use a .pfm/.pfb font, either by embedding it or using it as a system font. I keep getting error messages, and Google can't find anybody having the same issue. I tried several methods: - copy/pasting the [Embed] statement which was working using Flex 3 SDK - installing the font and then try to simply call it by its name in a CSS declaration without embedding it ; seems to work for every .ttf and .otf system fonts, but not for .pfm/.pfm ones - using a Flash-generated swf which embeds the font So far none of these seems to work. Has anybody got an idea on how to achieve this? I actually don't care using a system font without embedding it as long as it works. I'll be really grateful if somebody could help me on this, I'm totally stuck and cannot use another font instead.

  Whenever I open a Bash shell, my classpath is "someProgram". I know that adding an export entry to ".bashrc" changes my classpath, but I want to know where "someProgram" is being added to the classpath (it's not in ".bashrc"). Is there a way to track down where this is being set, or some typical spots I should be checking besides ".bashrc"? Details: I'm using Ubuntu 9.10.   The following code returns 14 as you'd expect: Block[{expr}, expr = 2 z; f[z_] = expr; f[7]] But if you change that Block to a Module then it returns 2*z. It seems to not matter what other variables besides expr you localize. I thought I understood Module, Block, and With in Mathematica but I can't explain the difference in behavior between Module and Block in this example.   Our system would like our clients to link their accounts with different social media sites like youtube, vimeo, facebook, myspace and so on. One of the benefits we would like to give to the user is to transfer, update and delete files they have uploaded to our sites and transfer them to the social media sites mentioned above. this files could be videos, images or audio. We started thinking about using a strategy pattern, as all of these sites share a common process ( authentication, connection, use the API to transfer/edit/delete the file ), but we soon realized that it may not work as me may want to use some of the extended functionality that is specific to each service (eg: associate a youtube video with a channel, or upload images to a specific album on facebook, and much, much more...) My question is, what would be the best Structural Design Patter to use for this scenario?

  Hello all, I'm new to apple development, For my Uni project I try developing an application for iPhone using PocketSphinx to recognise speech commands... I used the "build_for_iphoneos.sh" script available in PocketSphinx SVN and SphinxBase. Program working without any issues when i try it on simulator, today I try to deploy on device and it's giving me this error? can any one help me solve this please? • Web scraping: how to get scraper implementation from text link?

  I'm building a java web media-scraping application for extracting content from a variety of popular websites: youtube, facebook, rapidshare, and so on. The application will include a search capability to find content urls, but should also allow the user to paste a url into the application if they already where the media is. Youtube Downloader already does this for a variety of video sites. When the program is supplied with a URL, it decides which kind of scraper to use to get the content; for example, a youtube watch link returns a YoutubeScraper, a Facebook fanpage link returns a FacebookScraper and so on. Should I use the factory pattern to do this? My idea is that the factory has one public method. It takes a String argument representing a link, and returns a suitable implementation of the Scraper interface. I guess the Factory would hold a list of Scraper implementations, and would match the link against each Scraper until it finds a suitable one. If there is no suitable one, it throws an Exception instead.

  Hi, I just wonder how to add annotation in matlab plot? And any better idea for annotating a plot? Thanks and regards! EDIT: I just saw from the help document: annotation('line',x,y) creates a line annotation object that extends from the point defined by x(1),y(1) to the point defined by x(2),y(2), specified in normalized figure units. In my code, I would like the arrow pointing to the point (x,y) that is drawn by plot(), but annotation interprets the values of x and y as in normalized figure units. So I think that is what causes the problem. How can I specify the correct coordinates to annotation?

  I am not sure why other people have not asked this before. But have you notice that the asp:Calendar shows an extra week at the end? For example if the VisibleMonth is set to 2010-03-01 and FirstDayOfWeek to Sunday: It will show 6 weeks. Feb 28 to March 6 March 7 to March 13 March 14 to March 20 March 21 to March 27 March 28 to April 3 April 4 to April 10 I was wondering why Microsoft shows the last Row which is entirely on April. I tried to search the net for a property but it does not seem to be existing. The only solution that I could think of is to override the Pre_Render and check all individual date if they are still within the week of the VisibleDate. But of course that is an extreme checking since each rendering of the control shows it.

  I'm creating iphone app. In that, when the app starts, it connects to server and downloads few images and then proceeds with app. When app is downloading, it will show the initial splash screen. as long as my server is able to ping my iphone, its working well. but the trouble starts when my server is taking much time to respond for the NSURL request. The app is crashing with following error: Mon May 14 13:56:34 unknown Springboard[24] <Warning>: com.xxxx.xxx failed to launch in time I understood that when such issues happen with application, iphone crashes the appliation. I would like to know how much max time iphone allows app to respond to such instances. Is there any max value for that?

• Phonegap: Slow response with vibrate notification

  I created a simple android application with jquery and phonegap. When testing the app with phone, I noticed that vibration effect, that I have used to indicate that user touches a button, comes after a delay of maybe 0,5 seconds. This is way too long delay and just confuses the user. Is this just the downside of using phonegap? Or is there any configuration or additional frameworks which could be used to make the app response and produce the vibration more quickly? • ftp connection problem, vsftp server, active mode

  I have a server that runs vsftpd to handle ftp connections. One of my users have a notebook with Total Commander and WinSCP installed. Both ftp clients fail right after the connection is established to the server and it tries to download the directory listing without any particular error message. The weird thing is: the notebook works perfectly ok with other ftp servers. My ftp server also works well with other clients. In fact, this user also has a pc running on the same LAN as the notebook and the pc works well with the ftp server. We use active ftp connection mode. Passive mode works well but is not an option at this point. I would post more technical details but I don't even know what this problem is related to. Anyway, below is the server side tcpdump for the failed connection attempt. There's no further communication between the client and the server after the last line of log.   Hey, I would like to use Android for Model-Driven-Software-Development. For this, I need to locate the Android Model in the SDK. I already searched a while for it, but were not able to find it. Has anyone an idea where it could be? Is it possible, that it is the AndroidManifest.xml-File in the folder android-sdk-\platforms\android-x\android.jar? After unpacking this file, I am not able to open that file correctly on Windows XP, because a lot of characters have the wrong character set.   Hello! I would like to know if somebody knows free custom nice controls for .NET Compact Framework 2.0. There are nice controls as Manila Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566188), Sense Interface SDK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648906) and so on for free, but they work only on .NET CF 3.5. Furthermore, there are others that you have to pay for them and for .NET CF 2.0 and 3.5 (Resco or Touch Control Suite). And there is one called Fluid (http://fluid.codeplex.com/) but it's so complicated, there are not exactly controls (are classes added to a host control) and there is not much documentation to work with it. Any nice controls for free and working in .NET CF 2.0? And with list sliders if it's possible? Thanks!

• Deploy custom web service to sharepoint server(2007/2010)?

  According to MSDN, for deploying custom web service, we need to create *wsdl.aspx and *disco.aspx files, and put them with .asmx together under _vti_bin folder (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\isapi). And put the dll under bin folder of the root of sharepoint virtual directory. It works correctly for me. However, i also found that if i put .asmx file under the root virtual directory without creating those *wsdl.aspx and *disco.aspx files. It can work as well and much easier than the above way. So i'm wondering what's the potential issues in this way?
